Global Lord: My Undead Can Undergo Fission -
Chapter 665: That’s a Lot to Do with These Natives
Chapter 665: Chapter 665: That’s a Lot to Do with These Natives
Upon hearing Qin Lan’s words, Fang Jie sighed, "Well, let them go then. With them all gone, I can make some bigger moves. The number of rushed troops lately has really been quite high."
"These natives, always causing trouble," Fang Jie cursed without good humor.
He already had plenty on his plate; the last thing he needed was them adding to his chaos.
If it hadn’t been for how busy he’d been lately, his own advancement wouldn’t have been so sluggish. Refilling his knowledge, adapting to his own Law Seed, nurturing its growth – all of these things took time.
Fang Jie didn’t want to diminish his potential. To aim for a higher limit, he couldn’t afford to act rashly.
Each step had to be perfect, or at least as perfect as he could feel it to be. At least until he faced a crisis that necessitated an early upgrade, Fang Jie would maintain this posture of perfection.
But with so many things going on, his recent progress had been frustratingly slow.
Qin Lan, on the other hand, had recently obtained some special resources that had boosted her strength to the silver level. But this was all due to a pileup of resources; she would still need to spend time to stabilize her strength completely.
"There’s no helping it, or rather, this is the normal situation. The situation with the troops, now that’s what’s abnormal."
Qin Lan glanced at Fang Jie irritably. Their different origins left Fang Jie ill-suited for these matters, whereas Qin Lan adapted very well. After absorbing so many people from Earth, the team at Qin Lan’s side had grown even stronger.
Once the screening and training on this side were complete, Qin Lan believed she wouldn’t have to be so busy anymore.
That was indeed the biggest benefit of having attacked a new plane, at least for Qin Lan.
"Forget it, since it’s come to this, just go ahead with what we’d previously agreed on."
"Don’t worry, I’ve already arranged everything. I just need to give the order; no need to keep a constant watch. These next few days, I can actually spend quality time with you." Qin Lan looked at Fang Jie apologetically.
Though these tasks were all given by Fang Jie, they were, after all, what she enjoyed doing.
"That would be great; come here," Fang Jie’s eyes lit up, not minding Qin Lan’s shyness, and directly scooped her up. He had been feeling pent-up for quite some time.
Qin Lan was just frustrated, as it seemed the more she increased her strength, the wider the gap between them became.
It was a gap in physical strength that made her increasingly no match for him, a truly vexing conundrum.
As the orders were issued, a new operation commenced below. This operation was not just anything – it provided the natives with a chance to earn their stripes.
It was the Northern battlefield. During real battles, these people were useless.
But when the Demons weren’t invading en masse to the south, many Demons still lingered on Demon lands.
Their task was to clear out these Demons and bring their corpses back. Based on the level of the Corpses, the Territory would record their merits, which could be exchanged for many things.
It was a major task and also long-term; it could be repeated endlessly.
As long as it wasn’t during the annual large-scale Demon invasions, there was some guarantee of safety.
If they encountered a powerful Demon, that was just their bad luck.
The task was suitable for both large and small teams, no problem. Earning less could still exchange for many Cultivation Methods and resources, or various equipment.
Earn more, and large teams could even secure Territories for themselves.
Though these might just be small Territories, they were still Territories, were they not?
This was originally implemented when the Territories were being divided, with Qin Lan specifically suggesting that they be segmented. Not all should be large Territories; while easier to manage, there simply weren’t enough.
So, each large Territory was subdivided into many smaller ones around it.
These were nominally under Fang Jie’s direct control, but in practice, they were managed by the large Territories nearby.
With this management system, the Lords of the large Territories also benefited. Thus, a complete system was formed, although it seemed to skip a middle tier of medium-sized Territories.
But Fang Jie did not wish to fragment his Territory so finely, so he stopped there.
If it turned out to be unsuitable later on, then adjustments could be made. After all, he held absolute strength, and in name, controlled all the land; changing anything would be legally unproblematic.
As for those regional forces joining together to challenge him and making trouble, Fang Jie wasn’t worried at all.
With absolute strength and no need for their production, Fang Jie was seen by these Lords as a saint without desire – none of the smarter ones dared to cause any trouble.
With this command, a large population began moving towards Dragon Valley in the North.
Reliant on transportation, all kinds of industries in the vicinity began to flourish.
On the other hand, Fang Jie was undertaking several large projects, all related to the Hidden Soldier Cave.
Above ground, Fang Jie was building Fortresses everywhere, but in reality, he had excavated many large Hidden Soldier Caves underground. What was hidden there, was indeed his vast Undead Army that had been hastily recruited.
This military force, even if sent to the North, was too much to use up, so it was temporarily hidden here.
Some of the forces had not undergone Fission, and could still multiply twentyfold. But to conserve space, Fang Jie did not continue with the Fission and instead buried them underground, letting them rest for now.
Even the special Space ability of his Undead Realm was stuffed full by Fang Jie.
Those were all yet to undergo Fission, ready to be released and used at any moment.
If it weren’t for the recent lack of plans to venture into otherworlds, Fang Jie wouldn’t even know by how many multiples his strength had inflated. His income from Spirit Points had also been quite substantial lately, but so had been the consumption from several large projects, so he couldn’t waste arbitrarily.
Currently, the various troop-producing buildings in his Territory were simply maintaining the lowest production rates and were not fully operational.
Otherwise, the military power of his own Territory would indeed be difficult to expend. It seemed it was time to accelerate development. Once he attained sufficient strength, he would conquer the entire Plane and then attack other Planes.
In Plane warfare, the benefits were the greatest, and so were the expenses.
Fang Jie, sifting through the information, could see that once a Plane was completely controlled, the mode of development changed. To develop, besides exploiting otherworlds, there was also the approach of attacking and integrating other Planes – a more orthodox method.
