Chapter 532: The Volcano Crater Passage
Chapter 532: Chapter 532: The Volcano Crater Passage
Large numbers of Dark Night Elf troops had penetrated deep into Molten Island, where the Demons simply could not hold them back.
The reason was simple: each time Demons appeared, there was a limit to their numbers; they couldn’t keep increasing indefinitely. This wave of Demons had already been nearly wiped out by the defenses on Golden Sand Island, leaving not many left.
Others could occupy Molten Island, but it would be useless even if they did.
The island was covered with molten lava and stones formed from solidified molten lava, utterly unsuitable for the survival of normal creatures.
Nothing could be cultivated, and even the dust in the air could cause discomfort to those of weaker strength. Prolonged living here could even result in death due to environmental issues for those of too low a level.
Some knew that there were many minerals under Molten Island, but the hardness of the ground made mining difficult.
Furthermore, every so often, a large number of Demons would burst forth, and those who stayed would simply be marching to their deaths.
Thus, no one was surprised that the Dark Night Elves managed to infiltrate Molten Island.
Indeed, the Demons could cause trouble only because of the terrain here. There were always spots of molten lava that hadn’t solidified—lava that the Dark Night Elves dared not recklessly enter.
The molten lava was full of Demon Strength, allowing the Demons to enter it without worrying about being damaged.
Even the weaker Demons could swim or lurk in this type of lava.
Essentially, the losses suffered by the Dark Night Elf troops were caused by these hidden Demons in the lava. Even if the Demons themselves weren’t much, the lava they stirred up could still inflict severe damage.
After some time, the Dark Night Elves finally cleared much of the evil presence from the island.
"The Dark Night Elf population is still too low, otherwise they would have been able to clear the entire island."
Shadow Moon shook his head, "Increasing their numbers isn’t difficult, but increasing the number of Dark Night Elves with significant strength is." The stronger they were, the more resources were needed for their creation, and that was the biggest problem.
Fang Jie could create tens or even hundreds of thousands of high-level Dark Night Elf troops. However, to fully utilize such a large island, a population of at least tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions, would be necessary.
Otherwise, the vast land would seem sparsely populated.
And unfortunately, the environment of Molten Island was unique, making it extremely difficult for lower-level troops to survive there.
Fang Jie knew this too, so he didn’t say anything. "Let’s go to the center; there are more Demons appearing there, probably related to their space channel." Fang Jie could still see the frontline from here.
Within the ranks of the Dark Night Elves, some Elves carried crystal balls.
This was a type of special Magic Equipment used for transmitting live scenes, a more convenient method developed from previous conquests, like the battle for Kapala Island.
Before long, the Dark Night Elves had reached the center of the island where, as expected, the Demons were more concentrated.
Yet, in the face of attacks from tens of thousands of gold-level Dark Night Hunters, these Demons still had no ability to resist. By the next morning, the Demons had been completely eradicated.
In the middle was a huge volcanic crater, surrounded not by mountains, but appearing more like a red pool on the ground.
If Demons were not continuously crawling out of it, one would truly think it was just a pool.
"Exactly, this place it is. The Demons have been coming through this volcanic crater," the people in front reported after some investigation, confirming this place as their transport channel.
"It’s really unexpected that the Demon’s space channel would operate like this. It’s quite advanced. Only they can use it; others wouldn’t even dare to enter."
After all, it was lava, filled with Demon Strength, presenting a larger threat than ordinary molten lava.
Even Legendary-level powerhouses entering it would face tremendous pressure. Before long, their own strength would begin to deplete.
If it were gold-level, they wouldn’t last long in the lava before being completely incinerated.
Yet, the Demons did not reject this type of lava, and some even enjoyed it greatly.
Thus, following these special channels of molten lava, they could come through to this side.
"But this channel does have limits; the Demon Strength inside it might be some sort of energy limitation. The number of transmissions each time is restricted by this Demon Strength. There have also been no Legendary Demons coming through."
The absence of Legendary Demons might be because they didn’t want to waste such high-level Demons, or maybe the channel was too small for them to pass through, both possibilities were likely.
However, the latter possibility seemed greater, considering these were Demon Creatures.
Shying away from danger was not the Demon way of doing things.
"It seems there’s no danger now, let’s go over there," Fang Jie said to Shadow Moon.
"For your safety, we still need to make proper preparations," Shadow Moon insisted. Fang Jie had no choice but to concede, otherwise Shadow Moon would go find others, and more would come to stop him.
"No wonder ancient emperors found traveling so troublesome; this is already problematic enough for me."
To facilitate Fang Jie’s crossing, the frontline had already begun to clear an area. Some farmers were busy constructing a Fortress and creating a Material Warehouse, and to keep them separate from the Undead, they were using Dark Night Elf farmer Little Elves.
Even if many Little Elves might die in this environment due to their weak strength during the construction of the Fortress and Material Warehouse, the Dark Night Elves didn’t care at all.
Though they were all from the same Camp, in the eyes of the Dark Night Elves, these Little Elves were just laborious slaves.
The construction was very fast, and after it was successful, a few Legendary-level powerhouses, along with Mages, went over. After several checks to ensure no issues, they finally established a Barrier and allowed Fang Jie to pass through.
"I’ve finally made it; if this took any longer, Blade Island would be finished," Fang Jie said helplessly.
"Alright, go ahead and give it a try," Fang Jie said to Shadow Moon, as that was the task at hand.
Shadow Moon stepped forward, choosing to establish an Affiliated Territory. Other Affiliated Cities could also build their Affiliated Territories,
