Global Lord: My Undead Can Undergo Fission -
Chapter 529: Increasingly Diverse Troops
Chapter 529: Chapter 529: Increasingly Diverse Troops
It didn’t take long for the construction to be completed. With Fang Jie’s current city level, such building construction was indeed very swift. However, the Mage production had to be put on hold, because he still needed to upgrade the academy.
Wait until it reached level 10 before proceeding. Both academies were already buildings of Legendary Level.
The first one was the Flame Academy. When Fang Jie looked at the troop types within, they were Fiery Flame Mages, available in both silver and gold levels. Of course, since he was affiliated with the Human Faction, the Mages produced were also Human.
If he were affiliated with the Elf Camp, then they would be Elf Mages.
"I miscalculated. Had I known, I would have developed an Elf Camp to affiliate under." Fang Jie lamented with annoyance, "Oh well, it’s fine. It’s all the same anyway, and I can build on the Elf Territory in the future too." Fang Jie sighed; it truly was a waste.
After all, the intrinsic race of the troop type was not a trivial matter; Humans had much shorter lifespans compared to Elves.
Setting aside these concerns, Fang Jie started producing Fiery Flame Mages as soon as the Territory Upgrade was completed. Indeed, just like with the Ghost Academy, the initial Mages were virtually blank slates.
The Spells they inherently possessed were all of the Flame type, with very strong attack range and Attack Power.
As these Spells were tailored for the troop type, they were highly suited for the battlefield.
In particular, the wide-reaching Fire Rain and Fire Sea Spells were absolutely terrifying in their killing power when deployed on the battlefield.
"All the same, then? Focus on producing more since they are highly compatible with researching and studying Flame Magic. Pity they can’t undergo Fission."
The inability to undergo Fission meant that he had to invest more Resources to produce enough Mages.
It was unfortunate that the construction wasn’t applicable to the Undead Camp; otherwise, he would truly have liked to produce them there as well.
After some experimentation, Fang Jie laid out his subsequent development plans.
Finally, Fang Jie arrived at the entrance of the Curse Academy, which produced Curse Masters. Like the others, these Mages were available in silver and gold troop types, albeit attuned to various Curses.
"Large-scale Curses too? Their practicality already exceeds that of the Curse Masters on Dark Spirit Island."
Originally, Fang Jie had seen the Curse Masters of Dark Spirit Island, which were mostly single-target Curses and not very effective.
These Curse Masters, however, had large-scale abilities, employed collectively. Once used, they could curse enemy forces en masse.
An army afflicted by such Curses would suffer significant impairment in their combat capability.
In Fang Jie’s view, that was quite impressive. Still, their individual combat capacity was not up to par.
"No wonder those Curse Masters mostly resort to using poison when they fight alone." Fang Jie commented bemusedly.
While continuing to develop, Fang Jie also collected various documents and Cultivation Methods from Dark Spirit Island, integrating them. He even selected some individuals from Dark Spirit Island to join the newly established Mage organization.
Through Li Ren’s efforts, the control previously held by the old Nobles gradually diminished.
During this time, Li Ren faced numerous assassination attempts, but thankfully Fang Jie arranged a large number of Bodyguards for him. Warriors and Mages were protecting him both overtly and covertly.
Even Legendary Level protectors were secretly assigned to ensure his safety.
And Li Ren, having survived the assassination attempts, dealt mercilessly with his assailants.
"He really is formidable. I didn’t expect him to have such Talent," Fang Jie acknowledged, realizing Li Ren’s true potential, especially in internal power struggles with their own people.
Well, those people weren’t really their own anymore.
Once Li Ren fully mastered his duties, the power he exerted was truly noteworthy.
In just half a month, the Nobles of Dark Spirit Island were significantly reduced. The only ones left were either the deep-rooted powerful ones or those who remained utterly compliant and dared not make a move.
Of course, there were also those who now sided with Li Ren, previously without power or status, whom Li Ren had empowered.
Without these internal collaborators, it would not have been so easy to deal with the rest.
However, this was a long-term affair that couldn’t be resolved in a short period. Now, as the internal strife had essentially concluded, Li Ren, who was able to control a part of the island, started some development as well.
Meanwhile, Li Chu, who stayed on Worm Island for development, was also collaborating with his brother.
Under the guise of trading, the two continuously exchanged resources and strategies, accelerating their progress rapidly.
But during this time, Fang Jie found he might have been too presumptuous. "I didn’t expect that. I thought my Talents were formidable in all respects, but it turns out they don’t quite suit me after all."
Fang Jie had also been studying Flame and Curse Magics during this period.
After some research, he discovered he didn’t mesh well with Flame Magic, hardly able to use it at all. He wasn’t sure if it was due to his intrinsic Talent or his Profession.
Even with top-notch Meditation Skill, he still couldn’t wield Flame Magic as his own.
As for Curse Magic, although Fang Jie was able to learn it, the fit wasn’t great either.
The same Curse, if cast by him, was slower and less effective than if a Curse Master cast it. After all, Fang Jie had to first convert his Magic Power into the kind that could unleash Curses before casting.
This added many steps and resulted in much waste and made control a lot trickier.
"Looks like I really am meant to follow the Undead System after all." Fang Jie finally gave up on further research.
These unsuitable pursuits were but a waste of time to study.
Fang Jie returned to his Territory, first offering reassurances to Qin Lan, who was still busy, then started to finalize the plans ahead. Now that the two Empires no longer interfered with the affairs here, some conventions could be broken.
After some explorations over time, Fang Jie had gained a clearer understanding of the true strengths of the larger islands.
Next, it would be Quisha Island’s turn to exert force. It was time for the Sea Alliance to witness the true power of the Undead.
Fang Jie categorized the nearby islands, deciding to have the Undead directly attack and rule over them. The collective strength of the Sea Alliance was no longer capable of preventing him from taking action.
Even the Material Trading House wouldn’t truly be able to shut them down.
Because doing so would entirely collapse their logistics. Although they might find ways to address this, Fang Jie believed their problem-solving speed wouldn’t exceed his offensive speed.
