Global Lord: My Undead Can Undergo Fission -
Chapter 460: Continuous Vibrations
Chapter 460: Chapter 460: Continuous Vibrations
With the Ghost Assassin’s activities growing bolder, their influence began to affect all the surrounding Undead.
The Undead that had been attacking Fang Jie gradually stopped and shifted into a defensive stance.
Initially, they had come to attack Fang Jie, but now it was Fang Jie’s turn to trouble them. After throwing their forces into chaos, it was followed by a military push, initiating a frontal assault.
Unfortunately for them, the Ghost Assassin was exceedingly well-hidden, detectable only by Legendary Level experts who got sufficiently close.
But a Legendary was no ordinary expert, even the Undead didn’t have many of those.
It could even be said that most of the Undead that came to this Plane were only of Gold or Silver Level; if they couldn’t reach that level themselves, how could they possibly have subordinates of that rank?
With this maneuver, Fang Jie not only slaughtered many of their underlings but also eliminated a large number of individuals from this world who were participating in the mission.
Had it not been for the fact that he was part of the Undead Camp, any other camp daring to do this would definitely face expulsion and a warrant for their arrest.
Similarly, some of the bewildered Undead Legends attacked on their own, facing the likes of the Plague King and other Legendary experts. Their coordination turned those attackers into Legend Certificates.
Under Fang Jie’s intensified training, his own subordinates at the Legendary level were about to receive a mad increase in strength.
Amidst this conflict, Fang Jie’s Territory kept expanding. Although it didn’t help much with completing the mission, it still pressured the Undead intensely, causing their losses to mount significantly.
"Why has the trembling started again? These tremors have been getting more and more frequent these past few days."
Fang Jie furrowed his eyebrows. Since the first inexplicable tremor, they had become increasingly frequent. Yesterday, at most, there were five, but today, past noon, there had already been four.
If it weren’t for the fact that these tremors hadn’t caused any harm, there would likely have been a catastrophe already.
True, although the tremors still didn’t have any impact, it seemed that only living beings could feel it.
But not only were the tremors becoming more frequent, they were also increasing in magnitude each time. This latest one felt like it could rival a magnitude nine earthquake, and that’s right at the epicenter.
What was mysterious was that nothing seemed to have happened, which was really strange.
"Could it be that there’s a God waging war nearby, causing this to happen?"
"It’s not out of the question; the Three-Eyed Clan seems to have vanished recently."
Fang Jie’s forces continued to expand outward, naturally encountering the Three-Eyed Clan. And as time passed, there were more and more encounters. Even if the Three-Eyed Clan was powerful, Fang Jie didn’t care, always employing attrition tactics to kill them.
Although some managed to escape, they always ended up bringing back more.
However, lately, the number of the Three-Eyed Clan seemed to be dwindling.
Fang Jie didn’t believe they would forget about vengeance; there had to be another reason.
"A previous team analysis revealed that the Three-Eyed Clan were mostly converging towards the North. But now, it seems there might truly be a problem— it’s impossible that all of the Three-Eyed Clan went to the North."
Upon hearing Qin Lan’s words, Fang Jie nodded in agreement. Yes, the Three-Eyed Clan were heading North.
Fang Jie had long been aware that he was situated in the Southern part of the continent, and he had felt very fortunate for it. Because in the very North, was the leading Undead of this mission, an individual named Xisa.
Compared to those around him, Fang Jie had no resistance at all, not even the will to resist.
The difference in strength was too great; if the other wanted to deal with him, his forces wouldn’t be able to hold their ground.
Such was the disparity in strength. The other’s years of accumulation couldn’t be easily equaled by Fang Jie.
Moreover, that fellow had always harbored a ferocious attitude toward living beings. If Fang Jie had been nearby at the beginning, he could imagine that he would be attacked, and there would be no chance of peaceful coexistence.
Initially taking on this mission, Fang Jie hadn’t realized it concealed so much danger.
Had he known, he wouldn’t have dared to participate.
The Undead Camp wasn’t friendly to someone like him, a Human Undead Mage.
Those of the Three-Eyed Clan heading North were doing so to confront that individual. But the more that went, the more that died, and correspondingly, the more corpses the opponent got, allowing for even faster development.
"Let’s forget about the Northern guy for now. He can’t come over here anyway. How’s the relocation going on our side?"
"The relocation is rather fast, the Forest Elves, with their smaller population, have already been relocated and are being settled in. But there are simply too many Humans here, and up till now, only half have been relocated."
Qin Lan hesitated, then said, "If this continues, we might start to run out of land on our side."
"How can there not be enough, don’t we have farmland?"
"We do have farmland, but although we have enough food, the land is too small, and many things can’t be done. We can’t just pile everyone together; that would cause problems over time."
"Human beings are just one race after all; they can’t be too mixed with other races, otherwise, problems will arise."
Fang Jie felt a headache coming on. While mixing between races did happen, such interspecies relations could lead to significant problems. Talent would diminish generation by generation, and distinctive traits would also deteriorate over time.
Ultimately, these mixed-blood individuals would just disappear, which is why there are so few mixed-blood races remaining.
If it were just a short-term rule over a region, that would be fine. But if one desired long-term control over a Territory, then this issue must be mitigated.
It was unclear if this was a universal rule or unique to the All Heavens Hunting Ground.
"I understand. Once this war is over, I’ll see if it’s possible to acquire a large fragment."
Fang Jie could only focus on that option. He had a feeling that this war was about to end soon. These continual tremors just couldn’t be anything normal.
"Since you’re considering it, then there’s no issue on my end."
"Well, if there’s no problem, then come relax with me for a bit. It’s been too tense lately." Fang Jie stood up, scooped Qin Lan up in a princess hold, and walked towards his bedroom behind him.
"What about work? This is work time; put me down now," said Qin Lan in a lowered voice.
"It doesn’t matter, this is part of your job too. Don’t you think it’s more thrilling this way?" Fang Jie proceeded regardless and temporarily put aside all his affairs.
