Global Lord: My Undead Can Undergo Fission -
Chapter 447: Native Soldiers and School
Chapter 447: Chapter 447: Native Soldiers and School
"Finally, it’s been opened, and now we can attack places even farther away," Fang Jie thought.
The so-called attack wasn’t about deploying a massive army; it actually involved transporting the infected to spread the plague far and wide. Then, the mass slaughter would begin; that was the real goal. By reducing the number of natives, it would naturally diminish the faith in their native gods—it was the simplest method.
As for any repercussions, they were of no concern to the Undead Camp.
Even if they were in the All Heavens Hunting Ground, causing these people to detest and be hostile towards the Undead, it wouldn’t matter. After all, living creatures were inherently hostile to the Undead; that was of no consequence to them.
Fang Jie had already managed to get some small boats into the Big River by transportation before.
Although there were losses, a lot of intelligence was still gathered. Now that the passage had just opened, ships could reach the previously determined locations for assault and slaughter.
Fang Jie watched the skeletons below, vigorously pulling the ships out from where they had run aground.
Otherwise, getting stuck in the mud would mean they couldn’t be freed for a while, and if they sank completely, that would be troublesome.
"It’s a pity that sea fortresses can’t be built; the river is still too small."
"You should be content. Sea fortresses are huge; to dig a river that large, we Skeleton Labor would need more than a year," Qin Lan said with annoyance.
That sounded almost like Versailles. No one else had such engineering capabilities.
"You’re right. I really don’t understand these rules; each one is so odd."
Fang Jie had studied this before. Building a sea fortress was no problem—the sea fortress would still fall within his territorial construction range, and it was still possible to build upon it; that wasn’t the issue.
However, those buildings, once out of the construction range, were useless, except for defensive structures. They couldn’t produce troops or have any effect—they were practically waste.
Except for defensive buildings, which could be used as offensive artillery.
What surprised Fang Jie was that the Blood-colored Battleship’s capability of creating Bloody Skulls could be used outside of his territorial building range. Even when away from it, the ship could still use corpses to create Bloody Skulls.
These creatures had a much better cost-performance ratio than the rotten corpses.
But Fang Jie couldn’t figure out the situation with the Blood-colored Battleships; whether it was due to their uniqueness or because they weren’t considered buildings at all, and the creation of skeletons was just a special mode.
Fang Jie didn’t understand, as he wasn’t a scholar in this area.
But as long as it was usable, that’s all that mattered. With the Blood-colored Battleships, he could now add to his large-scale troop arsenal.
The only issue was that the Blood-colored Battleships couldn’t be produced in large quantities; they were too expensive and couldn’t waste high-level Corpses. After all, those produced wouldn’t benefit from the fission ability bonus of the territory.
With the river passage opened, a massive amount of troops was sent out, greatly enhancing Fang Jie’s invasion capabilities.
This day, Qin Lan came to see Fang Jie again.
It was work hours, and given Qin Lan’s character, it was unlikely she would leave her post—even though her post was right next to him, just in a room.
"What’s happened? You look like there’s some major issue," Fang Jie muttered.
"There is a major issue—just not on our side, but in the territory."
"The territory? What could possibly be happening there? Aren’t there plenty of people managing it?" Fang Jie communicated with them from time to time, and there seemed to be no issues there.
Even if someone intended to withhold information from him, his troop heroes would certainly not hide anything.
"It’s not something that has already happened, just a trend. Our territory has a large population now, and a continuous stream of humans has been sent over, with many issues beginning to surface."
Fang Jie looked at the refugees still being transported and nodded slightly.
"I’m aware. But after all, they’re just humans, right? There should be no issue with food there. So what’s the problem? Is there no longer any place to settle?"
"No, our territory is vast, and we have plenty of places for resettlement. Their accommodations are also constructed by Skeleton Labor—though basic, it’s very fast and there’s no shortage. The biggest issue is with the humans themselves."
Fang Jie watched Qin Lan silently, sure enough, she began to explain herself.
"I’m not clear about other species, but we know the human situation well. They can’t truly be satisfied with just food and survival."
"Their desires are hard to fill, and they constantly yearn for other things. There are already many expressing their dissatisfaction. If they’re not given an outlet, a large-scale rebellion is bound to erupt one day."
Fang Jie wore an indifferent expression, "Let them rebel then. I don’t care about them anyway. Whoever rebels can be killed off."
"Indeed, your military power is strong, but such actions aren’t positive for development. We need to think about the future. Haven’t you thought about what would happen if there’s an issue with the territory one day, or if it’s outright taken back?"
Fang Jie spoke softly, "Though unlikely, we can’t rule out such scenarios."
After all, sometimes going to other worlds would render the territory effects useless. If at that time, restrictions were imposed on his troops but he was allowed to take natives along, such a rule wasn’t impossible.
"So what are your thoughts?" In this area, Fang Jie was far from a match for these Earth elites.
"Of course, I have ideas. That is to give them things to do, a path to rise. We can’t focus solely on military force; that would make us no different from the natives, but we can’t completely disregard it either."
"My idea is to train native troops on one hand—for them, it’s the most legitimate way to improve. On the other hand, we need to construct schools on a massive scale. The natives need education from a young age."
Qin Lan went on, "This is also what many of our fellow Earthlings think. They don’t want to see kids, who are too young, not learning anything and running around chaotically."
So that was what it was all about. Even though these were their demands, it indicated other issues.
Previously, Fang Jie always thought that with his absolute strength, he didn’t need to worry about betrayal or logistics; he could rest easy. Now it seemed he might have been overly optimistic.
Had his territory not been large with a significant population, along with many other issues, this problem would have likely surfaced long ago. That it was only emerging now was quite fortunate.
