Chapter 443: Chapter 443: A Food Crisis Emerges

Kodier had made it clear when he first joined me that he bore a grudge against the Royal Family.

And indeed, it turned out to be true; in this offensive, Kodier’s role was very significant. But now, having taken in all the remnants of the Human Kingdom, Kodier naturally lost his chance for revenge.

"The Royal Family has been destroyed, so the family grudge has been avenged."

Although I don’t know what Kodier is thinking, by saying this, he has settled the matter.

Fang Jie saw that Kodier’s loyalty had decreased, but it only went down by 2 points, not much. This shows that although he harbors some grievances and reluctance, it’s only a very small amount.

That matter is already past, Kodier can still be trusted.

They have no idea that I can see something like loyalty on a panel, so I’m not worried about self-hypnosis issues or the like; this performance is enough to illustrate the point.

"I would like to negotiate with them to resolve our grievances and hope that Lord, you would kindly permit it."

After considering it, Fang Jie didn’t mind. After all, even if two Legendaries ended up killing each other, there would be no loss. What Fang Jie trusted most were still those he had nurtured himself.

This kind of direct acquisition from the outside world, even if a Soul Contract had been signed, Fang Jie didn’t trust completely.

"Alright, settle it amongst yourselves, but don’t make it too serious."

Fang Jie waved his hand, and Kodier left the place.

Next, Fang Jie dispatched a large number of Undead, passing over the Grand Canyon, heading north. This area had become Fang Jie’s own territory, so all other Undead had completely withdrawn.

The people here also knew about the previous wager and some fled in other directions, but some stayed. Rumors from the Southern part of the continent were known to them in the North.

So in the end, at least half stayed. Not that they trusted Fang Jie so much, but because they had nowhere else to go.

They knew the whole world was in chaos, hardly anywhere was safe to survive. Yet, there are always those who defy the odds, going elsewhere to try their luck, perhaps they could indeed survive.

This situation wasn’t entirely a bad thing, at least the pressure on the supplies Fang Jie was transporting was reduced significantly.

At least several hundred million people, this pressure is certainly not a small figure.

Of course, the Undead going north, relocating these Humans and transporting supplies were just incidental; their true purpose was to continue expanding, or rather, to continue the slaughter of other races.

As long as they weren’t Human, Fang Jie didn’t care so much. It was good enough to save his own people.

The whole continent was in slaughter, how could he be an exception?

Especially those ferocious species, mindless species, Fang Jie was even more relentless when killing them.

The infectors reached the North and directly overcame the original plague, using a more powerful force of disease to advance in other directions. If they encountered Humans on the way, those willing were sent back, the unwilling were driven on.

Those who didn’t care to live, Fang Jie had no obligation to preserve them one by one.

In this world, fighting for territory is meaningless; their only purpose is to follow the tasks given by the Gods. The current task is destruction and slaughter, nothing more.

"Fang Jie, we’re running out of food."

"What? How can the food be insufficient, what’s going on?" Fang Jie was surprised.

Taking the report from Qin Lan, it was a summary from his subordinates. As Fang Jie read, his brows furrowed. Indeed, there was starting to be a problem with the food supply.

The issue hadn’t arisen before, partly because of the continuous rear supply of food and partly because there were food stores in every region of the Human Kingdom, but now these supplies were nearly exhausted.

Unfortunately, many people were quarantined, and even if released, it wouldn’t be possible for them to farm.

And farming isn’t something that can reap results immediately; a food crisis has emerged with the near exhaustion of the original food supplies. If there’s not enough to eat, these people will definitely cause trouble.

As a member of Humanity, Fang Jie of course knew how terrible the outcome of a famine could be.

If these people start causing trouble, Fang Jie would have to strike them down harshly. Although his military power does not fear these Humans, if that truly happened, then the recovery of these Humans would not be so easy.

Fang Jie did not want to constantly assimilate over generations, gradually turning these people into his loyal subordinates.

"Let the rear begin large-scale food transportation, the incoming troops, each bring some food."

"Our potions are also starting to run low. We were quite sufficient here, but if we need to support the North, then it won’t be enough," Qin Lan threw out another problem.

The North was ravaged by plague, so more potions were needed. Even as people continued to migrate south, it’s not guaranteed that there would be sufficient medicine and food, there could be rebellions at any time.

"I’ll have the Territory increase the potion production scale," Fang Jie said.

But this wasn’t something that could be resolved quickly. Even if it could, it would still take two days for the potions to arrive.

That’s right, now with the Space Channel, it only takes two days; the time has been continuously decreasing.

"Is there any solution? Relying solely on this kind of support won’t last long." Although there was a massive reserve of food in his Territory, because of the time it takes to accumulate, it still wouldn’t work to keep supporting so many people continuously.

"There is a way, which is to send these people to our Territory. As long as they reach the Territory, we can settle them and give them some work. But the migration of these two days is not that easy," Fang Jie said.

If it were anywhere else, two days wouldn’t be much of an issue.

But inside the Space Channel, that was somewhat unfriendly. The Undead didn’t care about this bit of time, and if it was regular troops, they could hold out, but the old, weak, women, and children were obviously not alright.

The atmosphere of the Space Channel has a tremendous impact on the human psyche, unlike any other place.

"If it could be shortened to one day, it would be possible to carry out this kind of migration."

"One day? It won’t be long before we can achieve that. For now, prepare for the migration, and then, try to transport as many supplies as possible," Fang Jie resolved that there was nothing to do but wait for the right conditions to arrive.

If the delay went on for too long, it would become truly difficult to completely assimilate these Humans.

Come to think of it, if these weren’t all Humans, I wouldn’t have such a headache. It’s not just me; my Human officials below are also doing their utmost. Being Humans themselves, they of course hope to save as many of their own kind as possible.
