Chapter 407: Chapter 407: The Divine Domain of the Cloud God
The corridor seemed endless, and Fang Jie had become bored after walking for a while.
But just when Fang Jie was about to sit on an Undead and let it carry him, another wave of strength swept over him. Under this force, Fang Jie was completely powerless to resist.
When he came to, Fang Jie found himself in a peculiar place.
This place was eerily chilling, exuding a bone-cold sensation.
The ground was made of a black crystal stone, and a special power surged incessantly upwards. Fang Jie felt that power merge within him, seemingly even boosting his cultivation speed significantly.
If he could cultivate here continuously, he probably would have advanced to the Gold level by now.
At that moment, Fang Jie heard a voice from around him, "How did you get here?"
Turning around, Fang Jie saw a Zombie speaking, looking somewhat simple and honest. This Zombie was not the rotting type; rather, it appeared quite normal, save for a vacant look in its eyes.
"This is the Cloud God’s Divine Domain. Is this your first task of this kind?" said a person cloaked in a robe behind him. The person looked quite odd, with only two dots of white light visible beneath the hat, their face obscured.
Figures kept appearing around them, some humanoid and many more bizarrely shaped. But what they had in common was that most of them were Undead Creatures.
And these Undead Creatures were no ordinary ones, the weakest among them were comparable to Hero Units.
Of course, they were not troops, so they could not actually become Hero Units. As natives, by attaining professions with enough Strength, they stood on par with Hero Units.
In some aspects, they were even stronger than equivalent Heroes.
"Why is there a Human here? How can a Human appear in this place?"
Suddenly, a Skeleton materialized next to Fang Jie, staring intently at him as if ready to pounce at any moment. Fang Jie felt a chill throughout his body as this creature seemed eager to devour him.
But before it could act, another Skeleton rushed over and restrained it.
"Don’t be rash; we must not fight here. This is the Cloud God’s Divine Domain. Apas, calm down. If we fight here, we’re all dead."
Fang Jie’s heart sank—this creature had truly intended to attack him.
He quickly prepared a defensive stance, ready to cast a Spell at any moment. Even if it were fruitless, he had to protect himself. Clutching Corpse Bone Blocks in his hand, he was ready to summon the Undead.
Unfortunately, his Undead Realm was suppressed here; otherwise, it housed quite a few with Gold-level Combat Power.
If not for the Legendary status being unique, Fang Jie would have placed Legendary experts within his Undead Realm, but now he had no such option.
The Skeleton before him was undeniably at the Gold level, and far beyond Fang Jie’s capacity to contend with.
"Right, that Little Skeleton, in the Cloud God’s Divine Domain, only Cloud God’s Believers appear. Attack His Believers, and it seems like you don’t wish to live. Wait, you’re already dead. This time you’re utterly obliterated," sneered some knowledgable onlookers, watching the antics of the two Skeletons.
Although they also lusted after Fang Jie, not one dared to act rashly.
This was a Divine Domain, and being here meant something, which of course, they understood.
They could attack those from their own Camp, but only in other places. If they were to do so in the God’s territory, it was akin to disrespecting the Deity, and the consequences would be dire.
Apas eventually settled down, looking at Fang Jie and then at his friend.
"Let go, I get it. But once we get to another world, I won’t let him off so easily."
"I know. It’s just a Human, after all, although I’m not sure how he joined our Undead Camp."
At this juncture, a Witch Demon appeared.
"How did he join? Being an Alien Race and able to join the Undead Camp indicates only one reason. Either he has practiced a High-level Undead Secret Technique, or he’s an Undead Lord, perhaps one who has established a temple."
"Hello, my name is Ernie. Before turning into a Witch Demon, I was Human."
Fang Jie nodded, "Hello, I’m Fang Jie. Thank you for helping me out."
Ernie was exceptionally warm, "You seem to be not so strong, so you must have a Territory of the Undead Camp, right? That’s quite rare. I’ve heard that many from Earth have one right from the start."
"Yes, I have heard that too," Fang Jie replied noncommittally.
For some reason, Fang Jie felt some malice from Ernie, even more so than from Apas.
That one wanted to eat him, so what on Earth did Ernie want to do?
Although Fang Jie was detached, Ernie remained enthusiastic, inquiring about various things while many others watched with amusement shining in their eyes.
If they weren’t mocking Ernie, they were certainly deriding him. Fang Jie could feel waves of malice from around him.
Perhaps due to his Black Lotus Meditation Technique, Fang Jie’s perceptions were always strong. Previously, he sensed admiration and loyalty from his subordinates, which had become commonplace over time.
Now, it seemed he could indeed sense the perceptions of Undead Creatures.
It might work on other living beings too, but he had not yet reached that level. These Undead had a truly poor attitude towards the living. Fang Jie looked around—living beings were indeed scarce.
But not entirely absent, apart from himself, there were a few others.
But essentially, they all received the same treatment: either surrounded by a group of Undead beings or sitting alone in a corner without interaction with others.
There were some grouped together, but only a trio. It was unclear whether it was due to weak strength or for some other reason.
Just when Fang Jie was getting fed up, a figure suddenly appeared on the altar ahead. A gentle but formidable pressure descended slowly, under which everyone felt utterly helpless.
Fang Jie felt a stirring; he knew the Cloud God had arrived. Clouds amassed overhead, and the entire plaza fell silent.
"Very well, more have come this time than I expected. You all understand your task, don’t you?" the Cloud God said outright, with no beating around the bush—true to the Undead style.
