Chapter 352: Chapter 352: Golden Mage Corps

Fang Jie led these people to the entrance of the temple. He had originally thought about using the Legend Certificate to add a legendary subordinate but now felt it better to save it, as it would be more useful retained.

Fang Jie secured the Legend Certificate. Its greatest value was in probing.

As long as he checked to see if it could be put on and listened for the prompt sound, he would know whether his subordinates could possibly obtain the Legend Certificate. Although he already knew the conditions, nobody knew whether there might be some details that didn’t match up.

"Alright, let’s start here. Make sure you’ve brought everything."

The numerous Undead Heroes all nodded in agreement. Even with Soldier Cards, Fang Jie was prepared to provide several to these people.

"There are no issues," they checked everything over and over again without any sign of irritation. After all, it was connected to their own ability to advance, and no one would take it lightly. Besides, this was an order from Fang Jie.

How could the Undead feel annoyed by an order from their master?

"Then, let’s begin." Fang Jie communicated with the temple, allowing the sixteen Hero Units to undergo the assessment.

The next moment, all the people vanished, leaving behind many of their possessions. The weapons and equipment that weren’t inherently theirs, along with the leftover Soldier Cards, all remained where they were.

"It seems that the trial tests one’s own abilities, so all external things are not allowed."

Fang Jie sighed with a bitter smile, left a few people to watch over the place and wait for the others to return, then he collected the cards and headed back to his residence.

That night, Fang Jie’s mood was restless, and he was unable to focus on his magic research.

In the end, seeing Anfei come to take care of him, he brought her in and spent the whole night with her.

It wasn’t until the next day that Fang Jie found that his subordinates still hadn’t returned. However, his Ghost Academy had already been remodeled and upgraded, reaching level 10 successfully.

After reaching the Gold level, Fang Jie looked inside and noticed there was only one additional Mage Unit.

Ghost Mage Level 10: Level (Gold) Skills: Dark Mastery, Soul Mastery, Ghost Chains, Morale Exhaustion, Weakness, Undead Fury, Cold Ice Power, Barrier Technique, Ghost Scream, Ghost Teleportation

Recruitment required: 30 units of soul crystal, 20 units of Aggregation Magic Crystal Stone, 450,000 units of spirit points

"The price is really high, if I convert the needed materials, one Ghost Mage is enough to buy three Skeleton Flying Dragons." Yes, it was that exaggerated.

Though not requiring Gold level Corpse Bones, the amount of Aggregation Magic Crystal Stone was too much.

Skeleton Flying Dragons only needed two, but they required twenty, which was tenfold, not to mention the soul crystals.

If it weren’t for his own blueprint production, he wouldn’t have the means to manufacture these materials. But Fang Jie also knew that the newly made Ghost Mage definitely could not compete with the Skeleton Flying Dragon.

However, the primary role of the Ghost Mage wasn’t direct combat but enhancement.

Once the Ghost Mage’s strength was fully established, Fang Jie believed that Skeleton Flying Dragons really wouldn’t stand a chance.

Actually, it wasn’t that the Skeleton Flying Dragons lacked strength, but the disparity in skills was too great. As units capable of actively learning and researching magic, their tactical abilities were incomparable with ordinary troops.

"So now, it’s possible to produce them on a large scale. The previous research results were quite good, but to achieve short-term success, scale is needed."

Fang Jie took out his plan, made some revisions, and prepared many aspects.

Those different areas were all intended for constructing ordinary Mage Towers, not special buildings but ones built by natives. They didn’t even need to be too large, just conducive to research.

Then there was the matter of quantity.

Fang Jie thought it over, and this time he prepared to manufacture ten thousand Silver level and a thousand Gold level Ghost Mages in one go. With that, after fission, Silver level Ghost Mages would become one million, and Gold level would become a hundred thousand.

Such a number of Mage Teams would be difficult for even mage-powerful countries to produce all at once.

But after calculating the budget, Fang Jie began to have a headache.

"Even though it’s expensive, I still need to go through with it. For the next almost two months, I basically can’t do anything else. I hope that the Material Trading House expands quicker; otherwise, I won’t have enough resources."

Fang Jie couldn’t help it. Who would have thought he would have made such a plan?

Currently, the troops he had at hand were sufficient, and if it came down to it, he would slow down the manufacturing speed when necessary.

"Wait, maybe I don’t need to slow down. If there is a full-blown war, then the spirit points will be able to keep up with demand."

Fang Jie smirked, because there indeed was a war looming. Yet he still had to wait, wait for his heroes to return before proceeding. Without giving it a second thought, he started the manufacturing process to see.

It wasn’t long before Fang Jie saw a sea of Ghost Mages before him, this time of the Gold level.

He sized them up and down and found almost no difference between the two types of mages. The largest distinction was in their robes—the Silver level wore robes with silver-white trim, while this had changed to gold-trimmed robes.

They looked a bit more splendid, but that was all; after all, they were all Undead.

This simple attire was actually still a bit plain. However, if one felt their presence, one wouldn’t think this way. The presence of Gold level mages was strong.

But Mages perfectly control their own aura, able to conceal it entirely.

"Not bad at all, let’s see your new skills."

The Gold level Ghost Mage had four additional skills. One was a strength-weakening skill used against enemies that could reduce the enemy’s physical strength on a physical level, much more effective than simple morale exhaustion.

Another was Cold Ice Power, used for allied units, allowing Undead units to gain Cold Ice Power.

This was somewhat similar to the Cold Wind Girl Statue’s enhancement, but it could be used regardless of how far from the territory.

The other two skills were Ghost Scream and Ghost Teleportation. Ghost Scream was an offensive skill that directly inflicted mental harm through its cry, causing fear and panic in the enemy.

This was akin to a Fear Technique, and it had a broad range and quick activation.

Ghost Teleportation was an instant teleportation skill, not covering a large distance but very fast. With this skill, the survival ability of Ghost Mages increased to the maximum, and crucially, it indicated they had a talent for Space Magic.
