Chapter 296: Chapter 296: The Top Technology of the Goblin World
Fang Jie breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that the goblins gave up the chase once he entered the forest.
"Good they’re not following, otherwise things would have really gotten troublesome."
Fang Jie quickly delved deeper until he reached the area marked on the map, and then he stopped. To create the Guiding God Array in this location, he needed a certain amount of stable time. It would be troublesome if he had to keep fighting.
Following the Array Map that appeared in his mind, Fang Jie began to inscribe with his own magic power.
Each inscription left behind a precise trace of special magic power. Fang Jie was certain this was a benefit from All Heavens Hunting Ground, as this wouldn’t work anywhere else.
As Fang Jie continued to inscribe, the whole space seemed to tremble.
His movements seemed to evoke a resonance in space, but Fang Jie paid no attention and was completely immersed in inscribing the array. After about an hour, the Array Map was finally complete.
"Good, it’s a success." Fang Jie exhaled, ready to next defend this location for ten days.
While Fang Jie was inscribing the array, the high-level goblins of both the Green Skin Kingdom and the Thorny Skin Kingdom almost received the news simultaneously. The discovery of animate skeletons was a major finding for the goblins.
However, an hour later, as they were still discussing, a peculiar change occurred in the whole world.
It felt as if something was urging them to act, but the goblins themselves couldn’t perceive it.
Ultimately the goblins of this world, who revered technological power, didn’t study natural forces. So, when the world crisis called out, none of the goblins understood.
But even if they didn’t understand, the goblins were still influenced.
"I think we should go all out this time. Nobody knows where those unknown entities come from or what methods they have. We can’t keep fueling this."
A goblin high-level suddenly voiced their opinion, and no one found it odd.
Usually, they wouldn’t do this. Unconsciously, the influence of the world crisis had already affected these goblins’ thinking, yet they realized nothing of it.
"Our entire stockpile is ready, it’s a waste not to use it. It’s always the case every year, might as well put it to use."
The Chief thought for a moment with his head lowered and then spoke, "You’re right. It’s time to let our forces truly show their strength. Let’s send out our top airships, no need to care about the opposition."
Suddenly, as if something came to him, the Chief spoke, "I will communicate with the opposition and first take control of that person. As for who the person belongs to afterward, we can negotiate with other methods."
Everyone nodded in agreement, it was a common tactic. For the goblins, war wasn’t the goal but a means; their true purpose was always money, with technology perhaps added in.
But technology still served the purpose of generating money, so as long as there were profits, everything could be settled.
Fang Jie was unaware that he was being watched. In fact, even if he knew, he couldn’t do anything about it since this was his mission.
After having the Skull Soldiers tidy up a bit, arranging a living space, Fang Jie set up multiple decoy arrays in the surrounding area, changing it into a collection of bone houses to confuse the enemy.
Even if the enemy had special surveillance methods, surely they couldn’t find the place where Fang Jie had set up the array.
Once the array was in place, it had completely vanished without a trace. Fang Jie himself couldn’t feel any presence there, and he certainly didn’t believe the goblins could detect it with their technological powers.
Fang Jie then settled into one of the houses, a position from where it was easier to observe.
This house had a subterranean space dug out where Fang Jie could hide at any time. If that wasn’t enough, hidden Undead below could rapidly dig a passage through the ground to allow for escape.
"Here they come, I’ve finally waited for their move."
Fang Jie watched as airships approached from afar. He knew they were goblin airships, somewhat similar to the ones in the information he had gathered but not exactly the same.
The airships were painted green and smooth, resembling fish that could even adapt to the air currents as if actually swimming through the sky.
The airships were incredibly fast; one moment, they were seen at a great distance, and the next, they were close.
Almost simultaneously, Fang Jie’s White Bone Griffins flew into the sky to intercept the airships. But from a distance, the airships suddenly launched an attack, and beams of light sliced through the air.
Due to their swift and precise speed, the White Bone Griffins were severed into pieces instantaneously.
And the first target of the attack was the heads of the White Bone Griffins.
"These are Gold Level combatants, and their experience is growing so quickly." Through previous battles, they had already learned that the core of these skeletons was in the head.
Even though Fang Jie didn’t plan to hide for long, being figured out so quickly still surprised him.
At the same time, the Wind Blades released by the White Bone Griffins only produced some minor wounds on the airships.
This defense wasn’t particularly strong among the Gold Level combat powers, but it definitely reached the Gold Level. Compared to previous encounters with combat powers whose defensive capabilities didn’t match up, it was just not on the same level.
"I didn’t expect to have to use it immediately, no telling how much longer I will need." Fang Jie frowned.
With no alternative, Fang Jie took out a card and released it. Instantly, a hundred Skeleton Flying Dragons appeared around him. Fang Jie focused on these dragons, and the Undead Splitting activated instantly.
Before his eyes, the bones began to show ghostly images, then they separated as if shedding an outer layer, resulting in shadows.
The shadows gradually solidified, and a thousand Skeleton Flying Dragons appeared. "Fly over, wipe out those airships."
At Fang Jie’s command, the Skeleton Flying Dragons roared and shot up into the sky. The goblin airships, with their crews cheering just moments before, then saw something flying toward them.
"Still not giving up, huh? These things are indeed bigger than before, but they’re just easy targets."
A gunner adjusted the gun turret, and a stream of light shot out, hitting a Skeleton Flying Dragon at the forefront. To his surprise, the Skeleton Flying Dragon was much more agile and tilted its head to dodge at that instant.
