Chapter 209: Chapter 209: Red Scorpion and the Great Counterattack

Upon receiving the elite forces from Flower Plateau, the nobles of the New Moon Kingdom finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Although the low-level undead forces of Flower Plateau were not very strong, the high-end forces were indeed formidable. However, the nobles soon grew uneasy.

Because the top-tier forces from Flower Plateau were too powerful, they comprised a mighty airborne army.

If their own forces grew to a certain extent, it would pose a threat to them as well.

It seemed that after this battle, they would need to find a way to target them. In particular, the Royal Family of the New Moon Kingdom was extremely nervous, always feeling like there was a thorn in their side.

But no matter what, the counterattack had begun. Mixing the Skeleton Soldier forces from here with the troops of various nobles from the New Moon Kingdom, they started the counteroffensive. The high-end forces also began clashing with each other.

Although Fang Jie had maneuvered in such a way that his White Bone Griffin Knights had always avoided those Skeleton Flying Dragons, it still dealt a significant blow to the Blue Sand Kingdom. Without high-end troops, dealing with regular forces became much easier.

Fang Jie finally witnessed the means of the New Moon Kingdom, somehow acquiring Dissolving Crystal Stone.

It was like using grenades; as soon as they were thrown, low-level undead within a hundred meters would dissolve on the spot. Even Black Iron-level undead would be greatly affected, losing much of their combat power.

Only those at the Bronze level could ignore it. Had it not been for the scarcity of the stone, no amount of low-level undead would be of use.

"Indeed, low-level troops are only useful in the beginning; in real high-end combat, these Apprentice Level forces are useless. Perhaps in the future, even Black Iron-level armies will become obsolete,"

Fang Jie muttered to himself while turning his attention to another object.

It was a palm-sized scorpion, completely red, giving off a very strange vibe.

Meanwhile, on the battlefield, a few White Bone Vultures quietly landed on a forest trail. Seeing that the battle hadn’t begun, Jia Siwei quickly made his way over, and the White Bone Vulture handed him a letter.

Next, a multitude of red scorpions crawled out of his body, looking incredibly sinister.

"Ha ha ha ha, excellent, I didn’t expect this, now we can hold on."

After over half a month of fighting, Jia Siwei no longer looked as spirited as before. Everyone was the same, ragged and tattered, resembling beggars more than nobles.

During this time, even tens of thousands of Bronze-level troops on Jia Siwei’s side suffered heavy losses.

The remaining troops, all wounded, didn’t know how much longer they could hold on. After multiple crises, even the silver-level Iron Puppets had entered the battlefield, and now just over fifty remained.

The strength and losses of the troops here were visibly apparent, indicating the dangerous nature of their fight.

Later on, even though communication with the rear had been cut off, the rear forces still knew that Jia Siwei was pinned down here. In the hearts of many, Jia Siwei had already become a true noble in spirit.

Continuing like this, Jia Siwei himself didn’t know if he could last until the end of the battle.

Although Fang Jie would definitely make arrangements for him in the end, if he couldn’t even endure the current eased battle, his standing in the eyes of the Lord might decline, possibly earning a reputation for being inadequate.

Jia Siwei had already decided to follow Fang Jie, but he didn’t want to be seen as incompetent.

"Boss, what’s making you so happy?" There hadn’t been much to be happy about recently.

Although everyone had different opinions at the start, their temperaments had gradually been honed by the battle. Originally impatient, they now seemed much more composed.

With their inherent abilities, Jia Siwei believed that they could stand on their own even if they were out there.

There were only two or three of them whose abilities might be a bit lacking. After all, they all came from Earth, where abilities also vary in strength.

"These Red Scorpions are good things sent by the Lord to help us hold on, possessing Repair Ability."

"Repair Ability, what can that do... wait, you mean Repair Ability?"

Everyone finally realized the gravity of the situation. The biggest problem they had now was that many Puppets were missing limbs and were in poor condition. Although not dead, their combat effectiveness was worrying.

If they could all be repaired, their combat power would be equivalent to an increase of two to three times.

Yes, as exaggerated as two to three times; it also meant they could hold out for much longer.

In the recent battles, they had already identified many special combat techniques. Even on this small road, there was a chance to rescue some damaged Puppets in time, preventing them from being destroyed by Skeletons.

Had it not been for the lack of Repair Ability, they would not have been under such tremendous pressure.

"Yes, it’s Repair Ability, a new troop type recently researched by the Lord."

"Red Scorpion Level 7: Level (Bronze), Skill: Advanced Repair, Manufacturing requirements: Refined Iron 1 unit, Refined Copper 1 unit, Metal Parts 1 unit, Precision Metal Thread 1 unit, Crystal Stone Powder 10 units, Gold Coin 10,000 units."

Despite the modest size of the Red Scorpion and its almost negligible combat power, it ranked very high and was even more expensive.

The materials used for manufacturing it possessed precision far surpassing that of silver-level Iron Puppets.

It had only one skill, Advanced Repair, but the effect was now evident. The Red Scorpions crawled onto the damaged Puppets; the seemingly simple pincers were covered in complex and precise structures.

Under the workings of these structures, wounds were rapidly smoothed out and restored.

Even internal damage was quickly repaired.

"It’s a shame we don’t have that many raw materials here; otherwise, we could restore even more."

Someone lamented, as, without the materials, the Red Scorpions could only find replacements from those damaged Puppets that couldn’t be used anymore. If no substitutes were found, they couldn’t be replaced and were only temporarily patched up.

Though they could regain much of their combat power, their durability and resistance were compromised.

As Puppets were continually repaired, everyone felt the pressure steadily decreasing.

After holding on for a few more days, the New Moon Kingdom’s counteroffensive finally arrived. The large force behind them directly broke through the Blue Sand Kingdom’s white waves, advancing towards the border like several sharp knives.

One of the pathways was led by Jia Siwei’s troops. After the commanding Officer leading the charge drew near, he suddenly remembered something.

"Go and see if Baron Jia Siwei is still there. If he is, immediately establish contact."
