Chapter 1563: 1451, brought under command

The next month, the hub passed in turmoil.

Due to the AI Blue Whale’s crash, the hub’s military preparations suffered tremendous setbacks, and at the same time, thieves ran rampant throughout the region, causing crime rates to skyrocket!

On top of that, nearly ten billion ordinary residents had to migrate to other hubs, creating unprecedented chaos across the entire area.

However, amidst the chaos, there was still hope.

Everyone was eagerly awaiting the day when the AI Blue Whale would be repaired, watching every star in the sky with anticipation.

Today was the final day. Could the AI Blue Whale complete its repairs?

...

Meanwhile, in Gantek City.

At the 17th floor of the Fegg Nova Adventure Group Headquarters building.

A silver-white Teleportation Gate suddenly appeared in Leader Janet’s office, and in an instant, over a dozen Eighth Rank cultivators burst out from it.

At the very front was Simon Herag, followed closely by Janet. Behind them were more than a dozen core members of the adventure group, all at least mid-level Eighth Rank cultivators.

At that moment, including the two leaders, everyone looked utterly exhausted.

As soon as he stepped out of the Teleportation Gate, Simon Herag immediately collapsed face-first onto the ground in complete disregard for his appearance.

This was Janet’s office, and since Janet’s true form was a treant, the floor was adorned with brilliant and colorful flowers and plants.

Simon Herag’s collapse instantly devastated the flowers and plants, leaving them crushed and askew.

The other cultivators fared no better. Each either plopped down on the ground or sprawled out like Simon, their faces marked by sheer fatigue.

"Hey, hey, hey, you’re all messing up my floor!" Janet pretended to complain in mock anger.

At that moment, every one of them was disheveled, covered in grime, and thoroughly filthy. The floor was officially a complete mess.

But even she was sprawled out ungracefully in her office chair, her body merging with its wooden structure.

"Ah, finally." She let out a long sigh. "We’re back at last!"

"Yeah, this trip completely drained us!" Simon Herag gasped, barely catching his breath. "Who could’ve guessed those damn secret realms would be that dangerous? I almost died in there!"

"Who didn’t almost die?" chimed in another Eighth Rank cultivator sitting nearby, wiping sweat from his brow. "If it weren’t for Big Boss Su Yu’s guide, each of us would’ve died at least a few times! Thankfully, with the guide, we just barely managed to scrape through each time."

"Yeah, thinking back now, it was insanely thrilling!" Simon Herag sighed with feeling.

Over the past month, they had followed Su Yu’s detailed guide to explore several unknown and dangerous secret realms.

Each realm had proved exceedingly perilous, and every time they’d teetered right on the cusp of death.

But miraculously, they all made it back intact, without anyone suffering serious injuries.

"Still, this time we really hit the jackpot!" Simon Herag chuckled with satisfaction.

"Totally!" Janet sighed. "This past month’s earnings were more than our combined income of the last ten years! Lord Su Yu really is generous!"

At that moment, a sudden voice spoke up in the office: "So, if there’s something similar in the future, would you all go again?"

"Not even if you beat me to death!" Simon Herag responded reflexively. "Sure, the earnings are amazing, but this is just too exhausting! Look, I’m practically falling apart here!"

"Really not going?"

"Absolutely... wait!"

Simon Herag realized something, jumped to his feet with startling agility, and stood ramrod straight.

The rest of the cultivators in the room, who had been slouching or lying down, immediately followed suit and stood up straight as well.

The reason? That voice just now had clearly come from Su Yu, who was now standing right in the center of the office, smiling at everyone.

"Haha, you’ve all worked hard!" Su Yu said with a smile.

"Not hard, not hard at all!" Simon Herag quickly replied with a flattering grin. "Lord Su Yu, you’re simply too generous! With rewards this great, what’s a little hard work?"

Janet and the other dozen cultivators quickly chimed in: "Yes, yes, it’s no trouble at all."

Su Yu turned to Simon Herag. "But didn’t you just say you wouldn’t go even if you were beaten to death?"

"Well, that’s because I wasn’t beaten to death, was I?" Simon Herag said thick-skinned. "As long as I’m not dead, I’ll go!"

Janet hastily changed the subject. "Lord Su Yu, why are you here? Is there another mission for us?"

Su Yu shook his head. "Not at all, no. Today happens to be the final deadline."

He put away his smile, taking on a serious tone. "But I came today to ask all of you something very important—are you willing to swear allegiance to me?"

Over the past month, Su Yu had come to understand the Fegg Nova Adventure Group and especially the characters of its core members.

He knew now that this group of people could be brought under his command.

And with their loyalty, his own strength would significantly increase.

The members of Fegg Nova were utterly shocked by his question!

But almost without hesitation, Simon Herag immediately declared, "I’m willing to swear allegiance to you, Lord Su Yu!"

"Me too. I’m also willing to swear allegiance!" Janet followed quickly.

"Same here."

"Swearing allegiance to you is the greatest honor!"

The other cultivators chimed in one after another.

None of them seemed to hesitate.

The advantages of pledging allegiance to Su Yu were obvious, evident from the gains they had just made.

Besides, it wasn’t really a difficult decision. The Blue Star Adventure Group would likely have at least three Planet-level members in the future! Such a high-tier force was far beyond what they could hope to associate with otherwise.

"Hmm, alright then." Su Yu nodded calmly. "If that’s the case, I’ll take you all to a place..."

...

Half an hour later, the silver-white Teleportation Gate in the office flared to life again, and the Fegg Nova high-ranking members once again emerged from it.

But unlike their previous exhaustion, this time the dozen or so leaders all wore expressions of utter bafflement.

"So... it’s just... bound like that?" Simon Herag stammered in disbelief.

"Yeah, I didn’t expect there to be such a miraculous Cultivation Technique!" Janet murmured in a daze.

"So now we..."

"What else can we do? Just get on with our usual work."

"Exactly, at this point, we’re completely tied to the same ship!"

"Let’s hope the ship stays steady. By the way, the AI Blue Whale repair should be on track, right?"

"Of course, it’s all up to Lord Su Yu now."
