Chapter 1552: 1440, Jared’s Jealousy

Crack—

The red "disc" was frozen in place.

The space around it solidified and was then sliced into countless fragments!

The red "disc" couldn’t withstand the overwhelming force of the cuts and shattered along with the surrounding space. The crisis at the Blue Star headquarters was temporarily averted.

This was Su Yu’s first use of a Planet-level spell since mastering it, and the result was gratifying.

However, he had no time to feel any emotional ripples from this success, as the enemy’s message quickly arrived.

"Oh? Su Yu? You actually dared to come back at a time like this?"

The spiritual power message came from none other than Jared.

The blood-red "disc" earlier had also been Jared’s attack.

He knew Su Yu’s kin were there. Even though Su Yu wasn’t present earlier, Jared carelessly launched an attack toward the location.

Crushing some insignificant bugs—he hadn’t thought much of it.

Little did he expect that Su Yu would actually return, and at such a critical moment?

"It’s Su Yu! Delgek, Montley, give me a moment," Jared instructed the two beside him.

The rebel organization had dispatched two Planet Level 5 or higher powerhouses to Hemis City: Delgek and Montley.

Montley was at Planet Level 5, and Delgek’s strength soared to the level of Planet Level 7.

It was their direct suppression, combined with Jared’s sneak attack from behind, that had instantly defeated Omir. Otherwise, they would have needed to expend much more effort.

Hearing Jared’s words, Delgek glanced at him, then said in a buzz-like monotone, "You have 15 seconds. Do whatever you’re planning, but keep track of the time."

As he spoke, Delgek pressed his hand against a deep purple crystalline cocoon.

The crystalline cocoon was about 5 meters in diameter, its surface glimmering like a gemstone. The figure sealed inside was none other than Omir.

Under the joint assault of the three enemies, Omir had been promptly pounded into a critical, near-death state within a mere dozen seconds.

Jared and the other two hadn’t initially planned on sparing Omir and had even sought to kill him outright. However, Omir had a life-saving ace up his sleeve.

The crystalline cocoon was that very ace.

The cocoon now shielded Omir inside, its hardness and defense astonishingly formidable, further reinforced by layers of spiritual energy protection. Even with all three attacking simultaneously, breaking it would take at least several minutes.

Thanks to the cocoon’s protection, Omir had managed to cling to life.

Delgek, now placing his hand on the crystalline cocoon, bore no particular ill intentions toward Omir within. He was simply idle and curious about the cocoon’s structure.

Jared had also been waiting without anything to do—until Su Yu’s sudden appearance.

Among the three, only Montley was actively occupied. Montley was holding a fist-sized blue crystal, pressing it against Hemis City’s Hymn Tower.

This crystal wasn’t a spiritual energy Magic Artifact but rather an AI-specialized weapon developed by the Crystal Blue Community.

Inside the crystal were nearly a billion various viruses, logic bombs, faulty programs, and an enormous payload of junk data.

This arsenal was enough to utterly destroy a Level 4 AI, potentially cripple a Level 5 AI, and temporarily incapacitate even a Level 6 AI for a significant period.

Now, Montley was injecting the crystal into the Hymn Tower. In their eyes, the destruction of AI Blue Whale was only a matter of time.

Delgek and Jared’s tasks were straightforward: first, eliminate Omir; next, wait for Montley to finish injecting the crystal; and finally, leave the hub before the 35-second deadline was up.

Before the mission began, they had meticulously calculated everything.

When Lailin had appeared in Star Zone 1 to assault Su Yu, he had calculated his window of opportunity as only 5 seconds. Within those 5 seconds, the hub’s Stellar Level forces would arrive.

Jared and his team’s situation was similar, but because they were in Star Zone 170, the hub’s Stellar Level forces would arrive much slower.

According to their calculations, it would take roughly 35 seconds for the hub’s Stellar Level forces to receive the notification and appear in Star Zone 170.

Though they couldn’t ensure absolute precision, the entire process—from their appearance to their attack on Omir, to injecting the crystal, and finally retreating—was best compressed within 30 seconds.

They had already used 15 seconds, so Delgek reminded Jared he had only 15 seconds left; by then, they had to be gone.

But Jared showed no concern whatsoever.

"Fifteen seconds? More than enough." A cold smile curled across his lips.

In the next moment, he flashed across dozens of kilometers in an instant, appearing directly outside the Blue Star headquarters building.

Extending his right hand, he brought his five fingers together, chanting. A colossal gray "book," akin to Mount Tai itself, smashed down upon the building like an overwhelming force of nature.

After completing this move, Jared turned and prepared to regroup with his companions without hesitation.

The mountainous "book" represented his full-strength attack, capable of instantly annihilating someone like Su Yu, a rookie who had only just entered the Planetary Level.

Of course, he couldn’t be entirely certain of killing Su Yu; after all, he didn’t know if Su Yu had any life-saving trump cards.

However, he was confident that this strike would leave Su Yu gravely injured if not dead! As for Su Yu’s kin, they would undoubtedly be obliterated under its might.

"Spend the rest of your days wallowing in regret. Who told you to seek the limelight so recklessly?" Jared reveled inwardly.

The reason Jared was so fixated on Su Yu truly had to do with Su Yu outshining him.

Previously, Jared had been the most prominent figure in the hub, a dazzling presence among them all.

But recently, everyone had been talking about Su Yu, claiming Jared’s ability to stir up trouble paled far in comparison—even less than half of Su Yu’s.

How could he possibly tolerate that?

A brat forcefully promoted by the Hymn, barely 30 years old and still wet behind the ears—how could he be worthy of being compared to Jared?

"Hah, let’s see if you dare hog the spotlight from now on." Jared muttered to himself as he activated his teleportation, preparing to leave.

But just then, a golden blade of light suddenly erupted behind him!
