Chapter 1532: 1420, No Exit
After Speaker Lemo disappeared, an eerie silence descended over the scene.
Soon after, a massive uproar erupted among the crowd!
Everyone was so shocked they couldn’t find the words, shouting aloud:
"What? The rebel factions are attacking us?"
"Is it our turn now?"
"The rebels are fighting on two fronts! Isn’t the battle still raging in Lunya?"
"Which rebels are attacking us? Definitely the ’Fireseed Preservers,’ their influence is especially strong in our hub. ’Fatebreakers’ probably aren’t involved—they made that declaration a while ago about staying out of the war between Crystal Blue and Holy Silver. That leaves the ’Glory Rebels’ and the ’Dark Energy Rebel Army,’ right?"
"When will the war begin?"
"We need to hurry back and prepare!"
...
Panic swept through everyone, the air above Star Zone 1 descended into chaos.
Some people scrambled in confusion, while others rushed to return home and get ready for the impending war.
In truth, most had mentally prepared themselves for this to some extent. After all, Fegg is close to Lunya, and its defenses are fairly weak.
What’s more, recent events made it clear that the rebel factions were becoming increasingly bold in hub territories, making an attack on the hub seem plausible.
For instance, Su Yu’s home planet had been attacked by the Dark Energy Rebel Army; the auction Su Yu hosted had been disrupted by a rebel powerhouse; and now Lailin didn’t even bother hiding—they appeared openly above Star Zone 1!
These were all signs of an impending rebel attack. Otherwise, why would they be this brazen?
But Lunya’s war had only just begun—it’s been less than two years since the fighting started there—how had the flames of war already reached their doorstep?
Everyone was caught off guard, the crowd sank deeper into disarray.
...
Cat Morning Star, however, stayed rather calm.
Perched on Su Yu’s shoulder, she half-closed her eyes and said to him, "Nemesis, looks like we’re heading to war!"
"Yes, war is upon us." Su Yu’s expression was grim. "I didn’t expect it to come so quickly, and so abruptly too."
Morning Star glanced at the panicked crowd. "Everyone’s in a frenzy."
"That’s normal for those who’ve never faced war before," Su Yu spread his hands. "Unlike us, veterans with war experience, the civilians here at Fegg Hub have never seen a battle.
For the past fifty million years, there hasn’t been a single war here. Suddenly, they’re plunged into chaos. Wouldn’t anyone panic?"
Morning Star swished her tail. "True, they’ve been too sheltered by the hymn’s protection. Flowers raised in a greenhouse don’t fare well in sudden storms. It’s no surprise they’re wilting."
She turned to look at Su Yu’s profile. "So what about us? What do we do next... Wait, Nemesis, doesn’t this mean our original plan is on hold? There’s no way we can leave the hub now, right?"
Morning Star was suddenly reminded of their earlier plans.
Their goal had been to gather the resources they needed for their long journey, then move on to tackle the main mission given by the hymn—to collect its core data scattered across different star systems.
There were five core data fragments in total, two in the Milky Way, and three in the Holy Silver Star System.
Once all the core data was assembled, the hymn’s powers would be largely restored, though they weren’t sure exactly how much.
But now, with this sudden rebel attack...
"Based on what we know about the situation at Lunya Hub," Morning Star said worriedly, "When Lunya was attacked, they immediately shut down all external transit channels. Since then, the hub has only allowed people to leave—it’s been impossible to enter. They haven’t let a single Eighth Rank cultivator leave either. Fegg will probably do the same, right?"
Morning Star’s concern was well-founded.
Even as she spoke, someone in the crowd shouted loudly, "Oh no! Saint Channel Company has shut down all outbound transit services!"
"What? The transit’s been shut down?"
"Already? It’s been locked?"
"So fast?!"
"I was just thinking about evacuating my family from the hub, and now it’s too late?"
"Damn %&*$! How are they this quick?!"
"It’s true. It’s already shut down."
"We’re doomed. There’s no way out now."
Everyone quickly accessed their wristbands to check Saint Channel Company’s service page, confirming that inter-hub transit was indeed suspended. Instantly, the scene plunged into despair, and the chaos in the sky above grew even more intense.
Su Yu, like everyone else, opened his wristband to search for transit services. Seeing the large red "Service Suspended" notice, he shrugged helplessly, "Well, looks like we really can’t proceed with the main mission."
"Sigh, I guess we’re stuck here in the hub," Morning Star’s whiskers twitched. "The hub probably did this to prevent everyone from running away. If all the high-tier cultivators fled, who’d be left to defend it?"
She looked at Su Yu. "So Nemesis, should we head back to meet Alyssa and Tina now?"
But just then, Su Yu seemed to think of something. He shook his head uncertainly. "Actually... maybe not necessarily."
"Huh? What are you saying?" Morning Star blinked in confusion.
Su Yu stroked his chin thoughtfully. "I mean there’s no guarantee we can’t leave the hub. There might be a way."
"A way? What way?" Morning Star’s eyes widened.
"Shh, let’s talk later," Su Yu gestured to her to lower her voice with a finger to his lips. "You mentioned Lancelot Omir earlier—he might be the key."
"Lancelot Omir..." Morning Star found the name unfamiliar for a moment.
But after a brief moment of recollection, she quickly remembered who he was.
With this significant identity in mind, she immediately guessed what Su Yu might be planning!
Her eyes lit up. "Omir! Nemesis, you’re thinking..."
"I told you to keep it down." Su Yu grabbed Morning Star and tossed her into the pet space. In a flash, he vanished from his current spot.
"Let’s head back and talk."
Su Yu left the skies over Star Zone 1, heading back to the headquarters in Star Zone 170 with Morning Star.
