Chapter 49: Chapter 49 What Skill Is This? I’ve Never Seen It Before!_1
The female Sword Immortal landed lightly on the shelf, wreathed in wisps of radiance, looking ethereal and graceful. Her expression was cold and emotionless, marked only by a hint of arrogance. A single glance was enough to convey an inviolable sense of distance.
Who is this beautiful woman? The question surfaced in Su Yan’s mind. He looked up to size up the Sword Immortal. She was about 1.7 meters tall and didn’t appear very old, perhaps around twenty. Her features were exquisite, as captivating as finely carved jade. Her figure was curvaceous, with alluring proportions that highlighted her svelte and sexy physique.
As Su Yan continued to observe the Sword Immortal, her creature information panel quickly materialized in the depths of his mind.
[Name]: Qin Min
[Race]: Human
[Level]: Legendary
[Skill]: Imaginary Sword Dance
Seeing the information on the panel, Su Yan was undeniably startled. She looked so young, yet her Creature Level had reached the Legendary Level Creatures tier...
Is this what a genius is? he thought. Good thing I’m a cheat. Otherwise, I’d die of envy.
Just as Su Yan was mulling this over, the Sword Immortal’s cool voice suddenly cut in. "To be born human is a luxury many other species can only dream of. Yet you chose to betray the Human race and join another. How utterly foolish."
The Sword Immortal stood on the shelf, gazing down imperiously at the shop owner. Her voice was icy, carrying a distinct chill that exerted an intangible pressure.
"Heh, how laughable," the shop owner sneered upon hearing this. Then, with a dismissive air, he added, "I’m not the foolish one; this world is. I’m merely seeing the world as it truly is."
"A fine way to ’see the world as it truly is’," a flicker of cold contempt crossed the Sword Immortal’s face. She then stated indifferently, "Those eyes of yours? You’d be better off without them."
As she finished speaking, her pale wrist moved with a subtle inward press. Instantly, her Thin Sword flashed from its sheath with a HUM, slashing towards the shop owner. In an instant, a dazzling white light tore through the air, aimed straight for the shop owner’s throat.
However, just as the sword light was about to connect, a thick, hard vine suddenly shot out, intercepting the slash. It was a massive vine, erupting from the Legendary Level Strange Flower. Thick and hard, its surface pulsed with a blood-red light as it staunchly blocked the sword.
"Heh, a mere mantis trying to stop a chariot," the Sword Immortal sneered disdainfully. Her voice had barely faded when a fine crack suddenly appeared in the middle of the vine. Then, with a CRACKLE, it snapped in two, falling to the ground with a THUD, THUD.
A vine from a Legendary Level creature, instantly severed by a single sword strike! This Sword Immortal... she was terrifyingly powerful!
Su Yan gasped. Then, while the two were locked in their confrontation, he quickly pulled the remaining half of the vine off his body. He then strategically retreated to the side, silently becoming a spectator, occasionally shouting, "You’re incredible, Master!"
"Who exactly are you?" The shop owner was stunned, a wave of terror washing over him. He had never imagined the Sword Immortal could sever Da Hua’s vine with a single strike. He had been in Luo City for nearly ten years but had never heard of such a formidable individual residing there. Where did this powerhouse come from? he wondered.
In response to the shop owner’s bewilderment, the Sword Immortal stated flatly, her face impassive, "An intern at the Luo City Education Bureau. Qin Min."
With that, the Sword Immortal swung her sword again. The next moment, a HUM resonated! An icy, fatal sword intent surged towards the shop owner’s head with overwhelming momentum. Seeing this, the shop owner immediately executed another Alpaca Roll. Though the dodging maneuver was ungainly, it was highly effective, allowing him to once again skillfully evade the Sword Immortal’s strike.
"Miss Qin, the Human race is doomed to perish," the shop owner began, trying a new tack. "With your exceptional talent, why follow them into oblivion and become mere dust in history? Join our Demon Plant Clan instead! The Flower God can bestow upon you an endless supply of Exotic Flower Fruits! We all have a bright future!"
The Sword Immortal’s strength was overwhelming, and the shop owner knew his Da Hua might not be a match. Thus, he attempted to recruit her. If it works, great. If not, no real loss.
The Sword Immortal ignored the shop owner’s recruitment attempt, responding only with another decisive strike. The Strange Flower, Da Hua, seeing this, quickly whipped its vines to shield the shop owner. Immediately, a series of THWACKS resounded! The vines protecting the shop owner were instantly sliced apart by the sword qi, falling scattered to the ground.
The shop owner, having narrowly escaped, broke out in a cold sweat. "What I just said is true! You really could consider it..." he tried again, his voice strained. But the only reply he received was more of that murderous sword qi.
SNAP... SNAP! SNAP! After several more strikes, the Legendary Strange Flower had few tendrils left, resembling a bare, shaggy mushroom.
"Although this Demonic Plant and I are both Legendary Level Creatures, my strength far surpasses its," the Sword Immortal declared. "This is the power of Earth’s ruling Human race, utterly incomparable to your lowly Demon Plant Clan. Even if humanity were to fall from power, it wouldn’t be your clan’s turn to take the throne. Your Demon Plant Clan is truly unworthy."
As she finished speaking, the Sword Immortal drew a second Thin Sword from her back. Wielding dual swords, she launched into her Imaginary Sword Dance against the equally Legendary Level Strange Flower.
PFFT... SMACK! SPLATTER!
Very quickly, the Strange Flower could no longer withstand the assault. Its vines were all severed. All that remained was a bare stalk and a flower mangled beyond recognition.
"Woman, must you be so ruthless, pushing things to utter annihilation?" the shop owner snarled, grinding his teeth. "Leave some leeway in your actions so that you might meet again on better terms! Don’t you understand such a simple principle?"
The Sword Immortal replied, her face impassive, "You are no longer human. And for you, there is no future."
With that, the Sword Immortal raised her swords, and in a flash, two terrifying streams of sword qi shot out. One lanced towards the Strange Flower, the other towards the shop owner.
"You bitch! You forced my hand!" The shop owner snarled, biting down hard. In the instant before the sword qi struck, he dove headfirst into the Strange Flower’s gaping maw. Simultaneously, he directed countless eerie hands, innumerable bizarre Puppets, and the surrounding Blood Flowers to surge into the maw like a tidal wave. Since death is inevitable, I’ll take you down with me! He would sacrifice himself to strengthen the Strange Flower.
Watching the battle from a short distance, Su Yan saw this and immediately shouted to the Sword Immortal, "That Demonic Plant’s Creature Skill is Devour! Stop it, quickly!"
The Sword Immortal, momentarily stunned, reacted to Su Yan’s shout by leaping high into the air, swinging her swords at the devouring Strange Flower. However, it was too late. Before the Sword Immortal’s Thin Swords could land, the Strange Flower had successfully completed the Devour process.
Instantly, the previously bare stalk thickened visibly, and countless thick, tough vines sprouted simultaneously.
WHOOSH!
Suddenly, a massive vine whipped towards the Sword Immortal in mid-air. Then, with a loud BANG, the vine struck! The Sword Immortal, still airborne, couldn’t react in time to adjust her position. She was struck by the whip-like vine and sent flying. She crashed heavily to the ground, spitting out a large mouthful of blood.
Fortunately, the Sword Immortal was resilient and wasn’t defeated by the evolved Strange Flower’s single blow. She quickly scrambled to her feet and charged at the Strange Flower, slashing wildly at its vines. A series of CLANGS rang out as her swords met the vines! The Sword Immortal unleashed hundreds of slashes in a second, her hands nearly numb from the impacts, yet not a single mark was left on the Strange Flower’s vines.
Realizing she was outmatched, the Sword Immortal didn’t press the attack. She turned and leaped into the air, attempting to escape. My companions are outside the convenience store. I need to get reinforcements to deal with this Strange Flower together!
However, just as she began to rise, countless vines shot towards her, violently ensnaring her curvaceous body and yanking her forcefully back down. With a sickening CRASH, she hit the ground. The Sword Immortal, having failed to take flight, plummeted. Her entire body slammed heavily onto the floor. Her once pristine white clothes were instantly covered in dust, turning a dull, earthy yellow.
The Sword Immortal struggled to push herself up. However, before she could spring to her feet, several thick vines struck again. They bound her tightly, hoisting her high into the air. Her already voluptuous body, now tightly constricted by the vines, had its sensual curves even more accentuated.
"Nngh..." The Sword Immortal suddenly let out a muffled groan. The thick vines wrapped around her had suddenly sprouted venomous thorns, which pricked sharply into her skin. The thorns were coated with a viscous liquid. Its venom was extremely potent, causing the Sword Immortal’s complexion to flush crimson almost instantly.
Having subdued the Sword Immortal, the Strange Flower opened its gaping maw, intent on devouring her whole.
Am I... going to die...? A bitter smile touched the Sword Immortal’s lips. Utterly despondent, she quietly awaited her end.
But just then, a somewhat slender figure rushed over from nearby at high speed. The Sword Immortal looked up and recognized him—it was the student she had saved not long ago. And that student was Su Yan.
In his hand, he clutched a bottle of herbicide—the extremely toxic Weed Killer. Its toxicity was so potent that wherever it was applied, no plant life could survive. The Sword Immortal forced her heavy eyelids open. She saw Su Yan raise the bottle of Weed Killer high and hurl it straight into the Strange Flower’s maw.
And the Strange Flower, being a stupid Demonic Plant with negative intelligence, didn’t hesitate. CRUNCH! It bit down on the thrown bottle of Weed Killer and swallowed. The next moment, an ear-piercing screech of agony tore through the air.
The Strange Flower, which had seemed invincible just moments before, now found its massive body rapidly corroding from the inside out due to the Weed Killer. A glance revealed its body decaying, with gruesome holes erupting all over its stalk. In less than two seconds, the entire plant—stalk and flower—visibly dehydrated and withered at an alarming rate. Its strength plummeted to less than one percent of what it had been moments before.
The next moment, Su Yan leaped into the air, slamming his fist down onto the half-dead Strange Flower.
With a resounding BANG!
The flower exploded. Its core burst.
A terrifying Legendary Level Strange Flower had just been annihilated on the spot.
As for the Sword Immortal, witnessing this scene firsthand, she couldn’t help but question everything she knew. What kind of Creature Skill was that? To obliterate a Legendary Level Strange Flower in a single blow! Hiss... this boy is terrifying!
