Girl Hero: Revenge on Goblins!
Chapter 230: D81. Courage_2

Chapter 230: D81. Courage_2

"Idiots, it’s been said that the Great Demon is beneath the volcano; this sword-shaped symbol must be pointing to something important, which is why they sent the Goblins over there," the Shadow Assassin cursed, then analyzed.

"The Great Demon, huh..." the Foreign Soul Messenger murmured.

Time’s power does not discriminate, and even the villagers from the Ancient Village have no greater detail in their knowledge of ancient tales than others.

After all, human life is finite, and although compared to mayflies, humans already have a sufficiently lengthy existence, it still seems so brief next to those of the Longevity Species and history itself.

While the villagers from the Ancient Village may know more about the legends than outsiders, it is merely enough to elaborate a little further.

Almost everyone knows of the tales passed down from their great-grandfather’s great-grandfather, spanning countless generations, yet they know the stories without truly understanding them, likely less than the pleasure-seeking Hero’s grandfather.

After all, hoary legends are neither interesting nor edible.

If it wasn’t for the fact that the village truly passed down relics and unique Lineage Talents generation after generation, that ancient Agreement would likely have faded into a simple story over the long course of time.

Thus, even the leading Foreign Soul Messenger had only a superficial understanding of the marked Sword Tomb.

Nevertheless, for the sake of an Agreement of dubious authenticity, they had traveled a great distance to this Highland.

"Could that be Sister White Snake’s location?" the Hero raised a hand to ask.

"While it probably isn’t, the direction is consistent," the Foreign Soul Messenger snapped out of her reverie, nodded, and then shook her head.

"Lord Holy Snake is the master of the snow mountain, and the snow mountain is northwest of the Central Volcano, while this sword-shaped symbol is in a farther, more northerly direction.

"The village records mention that Ice Heaven Lake at the top of the snow mountain is usually where Lord Holy Snake resides. It’s hard to believe that she, grievously wounded, would abandon her nest and flee to a more distant place," the Shadow Assassin nodded in agreement and added.

"Moreover, look at the Sect’s strongholds, situated to the east of the Central Volcano, a considerable distance from both the snow mountain and this sword-shaped symbol.

"Based on the intelligence you just shared, even the Water Mirror Crane had to relocate due to the Poison Fog from the volcano. Although the Sect is powerful, I doubt those guys have the capability to cross the volcano area in the shortest distance."

The Arcane Marksman clapped his forehead, suddenly enlightened.

"So that’s why they are collaborating with those dark-skinned Goblins, trying to send them to that sword-shaped mark!"

Upon hearing this, the Hero’s little face involuntarily scrunched up.

Humans collaborating with Goblins...

Even if the other party were Cultists, the Hero found the fact hard to accept, as repulsive as hearing someone used excrement as their main course and vomit as a side dish.

Merely hearing it was enough to induce a physical feeling of discomfort.

"Then, what are we waiting for?"

After the epiphany, the Arcane Marksman grew anxious.

"Although we’ve taken out a bunch, but those things are Goblins, like weeds; who knows when a second wave will emerge? Lord Holy Snake’s abode is on their inevitable path!"

"Indeed, even if they haven’t found Lord Holy Snake, judging from the Scales, her condition does not seem optimistic.

"And since even the Demon Monster King has been forced to relocate, chances are we won’t be able to cross the polluted region either. If we don’t act quickly, then..." the Shadow Assassin trailed off.

"..." The Foreign Soul Messenger fell into silence.

1. Alright, let’s set out then.

2. No, we can’t do that♛

[The reason is—]

1. It’s too dangerous.

2. We should join forces with the army♛

3. We need to stay here and set up an ambush.

4. I’m afraid we won’t be able to help Lord Holy Snake.

After a moment of silence, the Foreign Soul Messenger shook her head in response to her companions’ suggestions.

"No, we can’t do that."

Her expression was grave, her tone strained, showing that the decision was not easily made.

"We should return to the station and join the forces stationed there, ideally waiting for the Border Count to send out the army or an Elite Advanced Guard..."

But she still steeled herself, declaring her decision.

"This—?" The other two Female Adventurers looked at each other, not understanding for a moment.

"Wait for the army below to come here? How long would that take!?" the Arcane Marksman exclaimed.

"...I’ve already notified the military officer at the station, and the Border Count has started preparations since yesterday. At the latest, there should be an advance team arriving the day after tomorrow," the Hero explained, after a brief contemplation.

"It could be considered fast, but this..." the Shadow Assassin frowned slightly.

Sparing a day and more, even if they were to travel at full speed, it would be difficult to traverse much distance on this perilous Highland. Waiting for the army would only take longer.

And just from the Scales, it was clear that White Snake’s condition was not good, and clearly, the enemy was trying to capture her. Although the situation wasn’t desperately urgent, it wasn’t far from it.

If White Snake isn’t found soon, and the Archdemon’s Entourage and Cultists get there first, the consequences—

"I fully understand," the Foreign Soul Messenger sighed.

"But even if we rush over with all our might, we would likely be exhausted. And just the three, or even four of us, could we really make a decisive difference?"

Faced with her question, everyone fell silent.
