Chapter 725: Stars
Chapter 725: Chapter 725: Stars
By the time she reached him, her fingers trembling slightly around the bouquet of roses, he lowered the microphone.
The music faded into silence.
Then, without hesitation, Qiao Jun bent down on one knee.
Yu Holea froze.
Her heart pounded wildly as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small velvet box.
The world around her blurred.
The only thing she could see was him.
Qiao Jun looked up at her, his deep voice filled with sincerity as he spoke the words that would change everything.
"Yu Holea, will you marry me?"
Yu Holea couldn’t believe her ears and only looked at Qiao Jun with wide eyes.
For a moment, she couldn’t distinguish between reality and a dream.
Qiao Jun... was proposing?
Her heart pounded so hard she feared he might hear it.
The soft glow of the candles, the lingering fragrance of roses, and the expectant silence in the air—it all felt surreal.
She opened her mouth, but no words came out.
Qiao Jun gazed at her patiently, his dark eyes unwavering. Though his expression remained calm, there was a hint of nervousness in the way his fingers gripped the ring box.
The sight made something in her chest tighten.
This wasn’t a joke.
This wasn’t a dream.
This was real.
Yu Holea’s lips trembled as she tried to steady her breath.
"Why...?" The word escaped before she could stop it.
Qiao Jun let out a soft chuckle, his voice laced with tenderness.
"Why?" he repeated, his lips curving slightly. "Do I really need to say it?"
"Yes." Yu Holea said firmly.
The dream from that night still lingered in her mind.
If that was her future, then she needed to confirm whatever was said to her in the present.
Yu Holea’s eyes widened as Qiao Jun stood up and snapped his fingers. In an instant, the dim room brightened, and she gasped at what she saw.
The entire hall was covered in huge photos, each one carefully placed on the walls.
Qiao Jun gently took her hand in his warm grasp and led her forward.
"Come," he said softly. "I want to show you something."
They stopped in front of the first picture.
Yu Holea’s breath caught as she saw her 16-year-old self staring intensely at the camera. Her younger self had a serious expression, as if she was trying to figure something out.
"This was the first time we met," Qiao Jun said with a small smile.
Yu Holea turned to him in shock. "How do you have this picture?"
Qiao Jun chuckled. "I used my power to recall that moment and print it."
Yu Holea’s eyes widened. She had forgotten he could do that.
Qiao Jun led her to the next picture. It showed a younger Yu Holea hiding behind a wall with him. She remembered this moment—it was when she was forced to scare Qiao Zixin.
She let out a surprised laugh. "I can’t believe you still remember this."
Qiao Jun smirked. "Of course, I do. You were terrible at scaring people."
Yu Holea playfully elbowed him, but her heart felt warm.
The next picture made her pause.
It was from her trip to the Kunlun Mountain region. She was sitting on a train, smiling brightly. A small fox sat beside her, looking just as happy.
"I loved this trip," she whispered, her eyes soft.
Qiao Jun watched her with a gentle gaze before taking her to more pictures.
Some showed her playing around with Qiao Li. Others captured small, happy moments she had forgotten.
But one picture made her freeze completely.
It was a major photo—one of her kneeling down and proposing to Qiao Jun.
Yu Holea’s lips parted in shock.
Qiao Jun stepped behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist, resting his chin lightly on her shoulder.
"This," he murmured, "was the best moment of my life."
Yu Holea’s hands trembled as she reached up to touch his hand.
"If I had the chance," Qiao Jun continued, his voice filled with emotion, "I would relive this moment over and over again."
Tears pricked the corners of her eyes.
There were so many other pictures, but Yu Holea was too overwhelmed to see them all.
Before she could say anything, Qiao Jun suddenly held her hand tightly.
"Brace yourself," he whispered.
The next second, the air around them shifted.
Yu Holea blinked, and before she could understand what happened, they were standing on a rooftop.
The wind was cool, brushing against her skin, but what made her freeze was what she saw when she looked up.
Her breath hitched.
Above them, the night sky was shining, but the stars weren’t in their usual places.
Instead, they were aligned to spell out her name, followed by a glowing question:
"Will You Marry me?"
Yu Holea’s heart skipped a beat.
She turned to Qiao Jun with wide eyes, unable to believe what she was seeing.
Qiao Jun chuckled at her reaction.
"I had a little help from the people of Goddess City," he admitted. "They helped me move the comets into place."
Yu Holea covered her mouth with her hands, her whole body trembling.
"This... this isn’t real," she whispered, tears forming in her eyes.
Qiao Jun gently wiped a tear from her cheek. "It is real. And don’t worry, I used an illusion spell—only you can see this."
Yu Holea choked on a sob.
People always said they would give their lovers the stars and the moon.
But Qiao Jun...
He really moved the stars for her.
Her vision blurred as more tears rolled down her cheeks.
Qiao Jun smiled, then slowly knelt down on one knee again.
His voice was soft, filled with nothing but love.
"Yu Holea," he said, looking straight into her eyes. "Will you marry me?"
Yu Holea let out a shaky breath, her heart so full it hurt.
"Say yes!"
"Say yes!"
Yu Holea gasped, completely stunned.
She hadn’t even noticed them before, but now, as she turned around, she saw all the familiar faces surrounding them.
Her brothers, Yu Sicong, Yu Shuchang, and Yu Sile, stood together, grinning from ear to ear. Mrs. Yu wiped at her eyes, her expression full of warmth.
Old Master Yu, on the other hand, looked at Yu Holea with an encouraging gaze.
Sheng Yin gave her a thumbs-up, while Qiao Li, Qiao Zixin, Kris, and Qiao Zirui all cheered excitedly.
Mrs. Qiao smiled proudly, standing beside Qiao Heng and Cai Bao, who both looked as if they had been waiting for this moment forever.
Even the Tian family, her old teacher from Jackson High School, her closest friends, and her business partners were all there, their faces filled with joy.
"Say yes!" someone called again.
The chant grew louder.
"Say yes! Say yes!"
Yu Holea’s breath caught in her throat.
She turned back to Qiao Jun. He was still on one knee, his eyes never leaving hers, his love for her shining in them like the stars above.
Her heart ached.
This man had given her everything—his time, his patience, his love, and even the stars in the sky.
How could she ever doubt her answer?
A tear slipped down her cheek as she let out a soft laugh, overwhelmed with happiness.
"Yes," she whispered at first.
Then, she took a deep breath, her smile growing as she looked straight into Qiao Jun’s eyes.
"Yes! Yes, I will marry you!"
The moment the words left her lips, cheers erupted around them.
Qiao Jun’s face broke into the brightest smile she had ever seen. Without hesitation, he slipped the ring onto her finger, then stood up and pulled her into his arms.
The crowd clapped and cheered louder, some even whistling.
"Finally!" Qiao Li laughed, throwing his hands in the air.
Qiao Jun tightened his hold on Yu Holea, his voice barely above a whisper.
"You’ve made me the happiest man alive."
Yu Holea smiled against his chest, her arms wrapping around him just as tightly.
"You’ve always made me happy," she murmured.
Qiao Jun pulled back slightly and cupped her face, his thumb gently wiping away her tears.
"Then let me do that for the rest of our lives."
And with that, he leaned in and kissed her.
The world around them erupted into more cheers, but for Yu Holea, nothing else mattered.
Only him. Only this moment.
However, at that moment, a pair of eyes watched the scene with a venomous gaze.
She was so angry that she almost shouted and tried to stop Qiao Jun.
Qiao Jun was the man who was standing at the pinnacle of the world.
He had money, fame, and influence.
Why couldn’t he be hers?
Her eyes turned toward the old woman who was smilingly looking at Yu Holea and Qiao Jun.
Cai Bao.
That old woman played!
She was playing from the very beginning!
As if sensing Yu Mei’s gaze, Cai Bao turned around and saw her.
A grin appeared on Cai Bao’s face, as if she was mocking Yu Mei.
