Chapter 671: Chapter 671: Zhao Rui And Li Fang
The assistant’s statement was detailed and heart-wrenching, painting a picture of a man who used his position of power to exploit others.
As her story circulated, another wave of outrage engulfed social media.
Supporters rallied around the assistant, condemning Shuchang’s behavior and demanding justice.
What made matters worse for Shuchang was the release of corroborating evidence.
Screenshots of inappropriate text messages he had sent to his assistant were leaked online, along with audio recordings of uncomfortable encounters.
The evidence was undeniable, and the public’s fury reached a boiling point.
"This beast should be sentenced to jail!"
"Yes! He deserves to go to jail!"
"Is it just me...or do the messages and video look fake?"
"Upstairs is for sure, a water army hired by Yu Shuchang’s PR team."
Just then the trending search of Yu Shuchang assaulting his assistant was taken down.
Many netizens started to discuss that maybe Yu Shuchang’s PR team was trying to suppress the matter.
Soon the thread on which the discussion was happening was taken down too.
It started to further solidify that Yu Shuchang was trying to suppress the matter.
The backlash intensified.
"Yu Shcuhang you coward! If you dare, let the topic stay!"
"Yes! You dare to commit such a vile thing and now that it is time to take responsibility, you want to close the matter?"
"Yu Shuchang is innocent for sure!"
"Yes, our baby Shu is innocent!"
"I think this is all is PR stunt to promote his new album!"
"Guys like my comment so that I can be notified to check the update about this matter every few minutes."
"If you like my comment you will live for the next 100 years."
At the studio.
Yu Shuchang leaned back in his chair, his lips curling into a cold smirk as he read the chaotic comments on his phone.
The hate, the confusion, the blind defense from his fans—it was all playing out like a predictable script.
He seemed unfazed, almost entertained, by the whirlwind of emotions his name had stirred online.
The door to his studio swung open abruptly, breaking the silence.
His current assistant, Lin Fang, walked in, her expression sharp yet controlled.
Behind her was the so-called former assistant, Zhao Rui, the source of the most recent allegations.
Zhao Rui’s face was smug, her confidence practically oozing as she strutted into the room, her eyes gleaming with malice.
"Well, well, Yu Shuchang," Zhao Rui began, her voice dripping with mockery.
"Have you had time to think about our little proposal?"
Lin Fang remained silent, standing to the side with her arms crossed, but the slight smirk on her face betrayed her amusement.
Zhao Rui stepped closer to Yu Shuchang’s desk, placing a USB drive on the surface with deliberate force.
"You know," Zhao Rui continued,
"I’ve been so generous in giving you a chance to resolve this quietly. But if you’d rather see your career burn to the ground, I’m more than happy to oblige."
Yu Shuchang glanced up at her, his expression calm and detached.
"You’re talking about the ’evidence’ in your hand?" he said, his tone casual, almost bored.
"Go ahead and release it. Do whatever you want. They are fake anyway."
For a moment, Zhao Rui’s smirk faltered, but she quickly regained her composure.
"Oh, come on, Shuchang," she sneered.
"We both know how this works. Even if the evidence is fake, it doesn’t matter. Once it’s uploaded, the public will eat it up.
People love a scandal. They’ll boycott you, blacklist you, and you’ll be finished. Do you really want to risk that?"
She leaned closer, her voice dropping to a threatening whisper.
"Or, you can hand over 2 billion yuan and I’ll disappear. No more evidence, no more accusations. You get to keep your shiny little career."
Yu Shuchang stared at her for a moment, then let out a low chuckle.
"2 billion yuan?" he repeated, his tone mocking.
"You think I’m going to hand over that kind of money for this ridiculous charade? You’re overestimating your worth, Zhao Rui."
Zhao Rui’s eyes narrowed, but before she could respond, Lin Fang stepped forward.
"He might be confident now," Lin Fang said, her voice calm but laced with malice, "but let’s see how confident he is when the world turns against him completely."
Lin Fang reached into her bag and pulled out a second USB drive, twirling it between her fingers.
"This," she said, holding it up, "contains proof that you never plagiarized anyone’s work. All the original drafts, timestamps, and everything that can clear your name. But I’m sure you’ve already guessed that I didn’t come here to give it to you for free."
Yu Shuchang’s eyes flicked to the USB drive in her hand, then back to her face.
"And let me guess," he said dryly. "You want 2 billion as well?"
Lin Fang smirked.
"Exactly. Two billion yuan and this little device is yours. Otherwise..."
She shrugged nonchalantly. "Well, good luck convincing anyone that you’re innocent without it."
Zhao Rui crossed her arms, glaring at Yu Shuchang.
"You see, Shuchang, you’re cornered. You either pay up, or you lose everything. Your choice."
Yu Shuchang leaned forward, resting his elbows on the desk and clasping his hands together.
You two really think you’ve outsmarted me, don’t you?" he said quietly.
Zhao Rui laughed, her confidence bubbling over. "Outsmarted you? Oh, Shuchang, we’ve already won. You just don’t realize it yet."
Lin Fang, meanwhile, was silently congratulating herself.
She had spent months collecting evidence of Yu Shuchang’s innocence, only to delete every trace of it from his files and compile it into this one USB drive.
It had been a painstaking process, but the payoff was going to be worth it. She could practically taste the victory—and the money.
"I’ll give you credit," Yu Shuchang said, his voice cutting through the silence.
"You’ve both put on quite the show. But let me make something clear: I’m not paying either of you a single yuan."
Zhao Rui’s smug expression faltered again.
"What did you just say?"
Yu Shuchang stood, his towering presence suddenly intimidating.
"The evidence you’re threatening me with is fake," he said coldly.
"You think I don’t know that? Do you think I haven’t prepared for this moment? Go ahead, and release it. Let the world see.
All you’re doing is playing a short-term game. The truth always comes out, and when it does, you’ll be the ones who are finished."
Lin Fang’s smirk vanished.
"You’re bluffing," she said, but there was a note of uncertainty in her voice.
"Am I?" Yu Shuchang said, his tone calm but deadly.
"You’ve underestimated me. Now, get out of my sight before I decide to deal with you properly."
For the first time, Zhao Rui and Lin Fang exchanged uneasy glances. The confidence they had walked in with was starting to crumble.
"Fine," Zhao Rui spat, grabbing the USB drive from the desk. "But don’t think this is over, Shuchang. You’ll regret this."
The tension in the room crackled like static as Zhao Rui turned to leave, her smugness faltering.
But just as she reached the door, Lin Fang paused and glanced back at Yu Shuchang with a sinister smile.
"Even if you somehow manage to clear your name," Lin Fang said, her voice low and venomous, "it won’t matter. By the time you do, your precious sister Yu Holea might not be so lucky. Accidents happen, after all."
Yu Shuchang’s expression darkened instantly.
His fingers clenched into a tight fist beneath the desk, the knuckles whitening.
The calm mask he had worn so effortlessly began to crack as anger burned in his eyes.
Just as he opened his mouth to respond, a voice, icy and commanding, cut through the air like a blade.
"If either of you dares to harm Yu Holea, you’ll regret it for the rest of your lives."
All heads snapped toward the door, where Sheng Yin stood like a queen surveying her court.
Zhao Rui and Lin Fang froze, their smug expressions melting into confusion and unease. They hadn’t expected anyone else to interfere—especially not someone of Sheng Yin’s caliber.
Zhao Rui narrowed her eyes. "And who are you supposed to be?" she sneered, trying to mask her nervousness.
Sheng Yin’s lips curled into a faint, chilling smile. "I’m someone you don’t want to mess with," she said calmly, her voice like frost.
"You can target Yu Shuchang all you like. Spread your lies, play your games, whatever it is you’re planning. But Yu Holea is off-limits. If anything happens to her, you won’t just be dealing with him." She tilted her head toward Yu Shuchang.
"You’ll be dealing with me."
Zhao Rui frowned, clearly unsettled.
"Why do you care so much about Yu Holea?" she asked suspiciously. "Who even are you to her?"
Sheng Yin’s eyes flashed, her gaze hardening.
"That’s none of your business," she said coldly.
"All you need to know is that I’ll protect her, no matter what. If you’re smart, you’ll leave her out of this."
