Chapter 653: Chapter 653:

Just then his phone rang. Yu Shuchang picked up the call, heard the news about his grandfather, and rushed to the location.

After dealing with her grandfather’s matters, Yu Holea took a day off and decided to stay with her grandfather.

For the next few days, Yu Holea was busy with the shoot and taking care of her grandfather.

Looking at his old face and weak moments, Yu Holea’s heart turned gloomy.

She couldn’t explain the feelings she had.

From the moment she knew that she never replaced the real host in this world, and was the original Yu Holea, Yu Holea couldn’t bring herself to forgive or be indifferent to the Yu Family.

However, the actions of the Yu siblings, Grandfather Yu and Mrs. Yu moved her. Yet she refused to be close to them.

Was she being harsh on them?

Yu Holea didn’t know. She only knew one thing. It would be better to forgive Grandfather Yu. He never mistreated the original owner.

In fact...he even went against Yu Mei many times.

After finishing her shoot, Yu Holea checked her schedule.

She had given an audition before and the result came out. She was selected as the third female lead in a rebirth and revenge drama.

The story line was the same, except the third female lead of the story had a rather impressive character development. It was a villainous type of role, but if played carefully, it would be presented as an amazing character.

Just then, her grandfather called out from the other room.

"Holea, come here for a moment."

She got up and walked into the room, finding her grandfather sitting in his chair, holding a box in his hands. His old face softened as he looked at her.

"I’ve been meaning to give this to you," he said, handing her the box.

Yu Holea took it, confused. "What is this, Grandpa?"

"Open it," he said with a small smile.

When Yu Holea opened the box, she saw a beautiful emerald necklace lying inside. Sensing fluctuating mystic energy around it, she was stunned.

"This..."

"It is the gift, I wanted to give for a long time, but didn’t have the chance to." Old Master Yu said softly. His eyes turned moist.

Just a few days ago when he thought he would never be able to open his eyes, he was filled with regret.

Regret for not being able to give the gift he had bought for Yu Holea.

Regret for dying even without being able to say things he wanted to.

He slowly reached out and held Yu Holea’s hand,

"Holea, I am sorry. I am sorry for not realizing the truth about the swap at the right time. I am sorry for not being there for you when you needed me the most. I am sorry for not being able to uphold justice for you."

Yu Holea shook her head, her throat too tight to speak.

She wanted to tell him it wasn’t entirely his fault, that she didn’t blame him. But the words wouldn’t come out.

Old Master Yu let out a deep sigh, then gestured to a file on the table next to him.

"This," he said, "is something I’ve been thinking about for a long time."

Curious but hesitant, Yu Holea picked up the file and opened it.

Her eyes widened when she saw what was inside—legal documents transferring 10% of Yu Corporation’s shares to her.

"Grandpa..." she whispered, her voice barely audible. "What is this?"

"It’s my way of making things right, even if it’s just a little," he said gently.

"You deserve this, Holea. You’ve always been a part of this family, and it’s time you were treated as such."

Yu Holea stared at the papers, unable to process what she was seeing.

The Yu Corporation was a massive empire, and 10% of its shares were worth more than she could ever imagine.

"But... why?" she asked, her voice trembling. "Why now?"

Old Master Yu smiled sadly.

"Because I thought I was going to die a few days ago," he admitted. "And in that moment, all I could think about was how much I regretted not giving you this sooner.

You’ve worked so hard and suffered so much, and yet you’ve remained strong. I’m proud of you, Holea. I’ve always been proud of you."

Tears welled up in Yu Holea’s eyes, and this time, she couldn’t hold them back.

They spilled over, streaming down her cheeks as she clutched the necklace and the file tightly.

"Grandpa..." she sobbed, her voice breaking. "I don’t need this. I don’t care about the shares or the money."

Old Master Yu reached out and pulled her into a gentle hug. "I care about you, Holea," he said softly. "I always have. And I’ll spend the rest of my life proving it to you."

The rest of his life?

Just how many years he still has left?

Old Master Yu was already 82.

Maybe he will last 7 years more. Even with her help, she won’t be able to extend his life to more than 90.

Old Master Yu’s body was riddled with injuries and those untreated injuries have significantly reduced his life span.

He only had 8 years left and yet he was ready to dedicate it to him. Yu Holea couldn’t stop herself from sobbing.

She never understood why she couldn’t forgive the Yu Family. But now...maybe she did.

She lost her childhood. Just like her previous life, she wasn’t able to enjoy her childhood even in this life.

The brutal reality of life was that if she hadn’t swapped at birth, maybe everyone would have loved her instead of beating her.

She had once heard from Mrs. Yu, that Old Master Yu was the one who was most excited when he heard he had a granddaughter.

However for some reason, when he saw the child, he didn’t show much affection. He cared for the child but never felt connected to her.

Maybe his instincts were telling him, that his grandchild wasn’t his.

She always thought she was the only one who had suffered. But was she?

Staring at Old Master Yu who was looking at her with a faint smile on his face, Yu Holea felt a lump in her throat.

He had lost the chance to hold her as a baby, to see her first steps, to watch her grow up surrounded by love.

He had been robbed of the joy of doting on his granddaughter, the one he had longed for so deeply.

"Grandpa," Yu Holea said, her voice trembling. "I am sorry."

I am sorry for not being able to understand you before. I am sorry for making you suffer just because of my biasness toward the Yu Family.

Old Master Yu panicked when he saw Yu Holea crying and apologizing, and he instantly tried to stop Yu Holea, "Holea? Why are crying? Don’t cry!"

Yu Holea couldn’t stop her tears. She shook her head, trying to explain through her sobs,

"Grandpa, I’m sorry for misunderstanding you. I thought... I thought you didn’t care about me. I thought you were just like the others. But now I know... you’ve always cared."

Old Master Yu’s heart ached to see her like this.

Though he was surprised and felt a bit thrilled knowing his granddaughter was finally going to accept him, he still couldn’t bear to see her cry.

He reached out and gently wiped her tears with his trembling hand.

"Holea, you don’t have to apologize. I’m the one who failed you. If I had been more careful, if I had trusted my instincts, none of this would have happened to you."

Yu Holea sniffled and looked at her grandfather, her eyes red and puffy.

"No, Grandpa. You did your best. And now... now I can see how much you love me. Thank you for not giving up on me, even after everything."

Old Master Yu smiled warmly, though his eyes were moist.

"You are my granddaughter, Holea. I will never give up on you. No matter what happens, you will always have a place in this family and in my heart."

His heart which was heavy for the past few years seemed to have been freed from a burden.

The thought of telling everything and then dying was now vanishing.

Maybe he should try to live a few more years. For his dear granddaughter, who has finally accepted him.

Yu Holea wiped her face, trying to stop her tears. She looked at her grandfather and nodded. "Okay, Grandpa. I believe you now. I’ll try to be a better granddaughter from now on."

Old Master Yu chuckled softly, his old, wrinkled face lighting up with relief.

"You don’t have to try, Holea. You already are. You’ve always been perfect in my eyes.

Now, no more tears, young lady. Tell me more about your new role. I want to know everything!"

Yu Holea giggled, the tension in her chest easing.

"Alright, Grandpa. It’s a pretty cool role. I’m playing the second female lead, but she’s not your typical villain..."
