Chapter 630: Interview
Chapter 630: Chapter 630: Interview
Mr. Yu was so angry hearing Yu Mei’s words that he stood up from his chair and said angrily,
"Yu Mei, you wait there, I am coming."
Yu Mei like a fragile doll nodded her head and sobbed, "Please Dad, come faster."
Once the call was hung up, Yu Mei sobbed and dashed into the bathroom. Behind her was left the nurses who were gossiping about Yu Holea,
"Tsk tsk...Yu Mei is truly pitiful."
"Exactly. I was watching her livestream just a few minutes ago and was filled with disdain, but now...it seems as if she truly loves her grandmother and hence pressured that other Yu actor."
"But still...I don’t think it is her place to find a match for the other Yu, right?"
"Well logically speaking yes..."
Yu Mei heard the entire conversation and her eyes darkened. She truly needs to level up her game now...
Thinking so, she took out her phone and typed an apology posting it online.
Once done, she walked inside the bathroom, ruffled her hair, smeared her makeup, and put on some tear-inducing drops in her eyes.
She also wiped away her makeup. Within minutes, Yu Mei transformed from a gentle and kind person to a pitiful beauty.
Walking inside one of the cubicles, she texted her subordinate,
"Time to start our plan."
..............................
In Yu Sicong’s office’s meeting room.
A presentation was going on when one of the employee’s phones made a ’ding’ sound.
Yu Sicong lightly glanced at the person, the employee who was none other than Vice President Rou, who gave an apologetic glance in Yu Sicong’s direction, before putting his phone in his pocket.
During the process, he didn’t forget to read the message and a glint flashed in his eyes.
Finally...
He can do what he was waiting for!
Vice President Rou maintains a serious face, listening to the presentation, but his mind starts to wander in the upcoming days.
Excitement filled every fiber of his being.
.........................................
The next day.
Yu Holea stared at the constant messages and was surprised.
A trending search appeared on the internet.

When she clicked on the first trending hashtag, an interview of Mr. Yu started to play.
With a grim expression on his face, Mr. Yu said,
"I have two important announcements to make today. The first is about my daughter."
One of the impatient reporters asked, "Are you talking about your daughter Yu Mei? What about her? Are you angry that she couldn’t save her grandmother?"
Mr. Yu calmly glared at the reporter causing the reporter to turn silent.
"No. Yu Mei is not my daughter. Yu Holea is my daughter."
Yu Holea stared at the screen with a dark look in her eyes.
From what she knows about Mr. Yu, nothing good can come from his mouth.
The reporters patiently waiting for Mr. Yu’s words, felt as if their minds were exploding.
"Mr. Yu, what do you mean by Yu Mei is not your daughter? Has Mrs. Yu cheated on you?"
"Mr. Yu are you telling the truth or just want to save the dropping share of the Yu Corporation and hence you are announcing such news?"
"Mr. Yu, are you trying to lie to the audience to calm the panicked investors of Yu Corporation?"
Mr. Yu raised his hand to stop the reporter, before saying,
"I will answer all of your questions, but first let me complete my announcement. Yu Holea is indeed my daughter. Yu Mei and Yu Holea were swapped at their birth.
Yu Mei was originally the daughter of a couple in the village, but due to a mistake, Yu Holea became the daughter of that village couple.
At the age of 15, she returned to us. But her mannerisms were...not presentable, so I asked Yu Mei to teach Yu Holea etiquette."
The reporters were thrilled and asked,
"So you mean to say your own daughter suffered in the countryside for the past 15 years and you are still raising the one who was the cause of her misery."
Mr. Yu shook his head,
"Yu Mei is not at fault. She was just a child."
"Mr. Yu, if Yu Mei was truly not your daughter, so why didn’t you announce Miss Yu Holea’s identity in public."
Mr. Yu showed a disappointed expression as he said,
"I wanted to, but who would have thought that my own daughter thinking her family was treating her with biasness insisted on making things difficult for Yu Mei.
During one of the incidents, she went as far as throwing things at Yu Mei. When Yu Mei insisted on leaving, we were the ones who stopped her from leaving.
Since her return, Yu Holea has been particularly competitive. It was to the point where my sons had enough and asked her to stay out for a month.
But she thought we were targeting her and wrote a severance letter asking us to sign. We thought she was just wilful, so we signed.
Who would have known that she had some connection in the government and got a true severance letter."
At this point, one of the reporters frowned and asked,
"Wait...you mean to say, your daughter who lived in the countryside for the past 15 years of her life, had a connection in the government office?"
Reporters were sharp and they instantly caught on Mr. Yu’s lies. But Mr. Yu had already planned out a lie in advance,
"Yes. That is a reasonable question. Let me clarify. The officer in question is from the same village where Yu Holea grew up.
They were childhood friends, and when the officer moved to the city and obtained his position, he remained loyal to his village ties.
When Yu Holea sought his help, he felt compelled to assist her as an old friend. Unfortunately, we only uncovered this connection recently."
Saying so Mr. Yu motioned to his subordinate who distributed the proof to all the reporters.
The journalist didn’t back down.
"Even if this officer was from the same village, does that justify processing a severance letter without informing the family? That seems highly irregular, if not outright illegal."
Mr. Yu’s face darkened momentarily before softening into a mask of paternal regret.
"I understand your concern, and I agree that the process was unusual. We are currently investigating how this happened.
However, I believe the officer acted out of personal loyalty rather than professional malfeasance.
This doesn’t absolve Yu Holea, though. She took advantage of this connection to cut ties with us and has since acted recklessly."
Mr. Yu then continued,
"After severing ties, she was like a wild horse. She had a relationship with thugs and never respected the Yu Family.
I ignored her antics thinking she was just in a rebellious phase but she angered her grandma yesterday so much, that her grandma, my mother, died.
This is my limit. I won’t press charges against her, as the last act of kindness from a father to her daughter, but I am officially severing ties with Yu Holea.
From now on, she has nothing to do with the Yu Family. On the other hand, I declare that I will officially adopt Yu Mei as my daughter because of her kind nature and gentleness.
Yu Mei stayed by her grandmother’s side the entire time and never left her grandmother alone. Yu Mei who stayed by my side and was filial to me, I will support her from now on."
The reporters started to question him,
"Mr. Yu, you mentioned that Yu Holea was rebellious and involved with thugs. Do you have any evidence to support this claim?
Because until now, her public image has been that of a hardworking and talented actress."
Mr. Yu sighed deeply, feigning a heavy heart.
"It pains me to speak ill of my own daughter, but I can’t let the truth be obscured. I have documented instances of her interactions with unsavory characters.
I will have my team provide the evidence to the media at an appropriate time."
The reporters exchanged skeptical glances, sensing that Mr. Yu was carefully navigating around providing tangible proof.
Another journalist chimed in,
"Mr. Yu, your narrative paints Yu Holea in a negative light while portraying Yu Mei as perfect. Isn’t it possible that you are biased due to your years of raising Yu Mei as your daughter?"
Mr. Yu’s gaze hardened, though he maintained a calm demeanor.
"Bias? No. I have always treated both girls equally. In fact, I went out of my way to provide Yu Holea with opportunities to integrate into the family.
I hoped she would thrive in her rightful place, but her actions have made it clear that she has no respect for the Yu Family’s values."
"Why not publicly announce the swap at the time it was discovered?" another reporter asked.
Mr. Yu offered a rehearsed sigh, his voice heavy with fabricated remorse.
"I wanted to. But as a father, I had to consider the emotional impact on both girls. Yu Mei had lived as my daughter for 15 years, and Yu Holea needed time to adjust to her new life."
