Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All -
Chapter 603: Karma
Chapter 603: Chapter 603: Karma
He was thinking too much.
If Qiao Jun truly remembered his memory he should have confronted him directly. He wouldn’t lower himself to play such a dirty trick, right?
Rong Xue consoled himself and headed back to his villa in a dejected manner.
Qiao Jun stared at his phone with a hint of mirth in his eyes. If he wanted he could have confronted Rong Xue but Rong Xue would get away too easily. He wanted Rong Xue to suffer a bit before telling him the truth.
......
The trending post changed once the truth was uploaded. All the netizens started to condemn Ai Han and Director Gong for being shameless.
Someone even started to ask them to leave the industry.
If Director Gong’s career was on the verge of collapse before, now it collapsed completely.
Ai Han was desperate and started to contact Yu Mei but to her dismay even Yu Mei left her.
She was filled with indignation and almost wanted to kill Yu Holea. After all, if Yu Holea had taken the blame she could have gotten away for free.
But that b*tch was hellbent on destroying her career!
Ai Han thought for a long while before deciding to go for plastic surgery. She had some cash with her.
As long as she changes her face and gets a completely new identity she could make a comeback and make Yu Holea pay a hundred times.
After finding a top plastic surgeon, Ai Hain got her face changed completely, and just when she thought that she could make a comeback, Director Gong found her.
If Ai Han was blaming Yu Holea for her misery, then Director Gong blamed everything on Ai Han.
If only he hadn’t cheated on his wife with Ai Han, if only he hadn’t listened to Ai Han and had clarified the news, if only he hadn’t gone to propose to Yu Holea, his career might not have fallen apart completely.
So once Ai Han’s surgery was over, Director Gong kidnapped Ai Han and tortured her every day.
Qiao Jun had already asked someone to keep an eye on Director Gong and when he got the news, he only faintly smiled,
"Let him torture her few more days and then report him."
What Qiao Jun didn’t expect was Director Gong was burning in the fire called Revenge. So before a day could pass Director Gong killed Ai Han.
Qiao Jun felt a bit regretful.
He didn’t believe in killing people if he could see them suffer. The reality was...Death was a relief, and life itself was suffering.
Qiao Jun was planning to let Ai Han spend the next 20 years of her life in jail and let her suffer, but to his dismay, she died even before he could execute his plan.
With no outlet to vent his emotions, Qiao Jun directed his fury at Director Gong and got him behind bars within a day.
When Yu Holea knew about Ai Han’s death, she was stunned.
With curiosity, she calculated the reason for Ai Han’s death, and surprise-filled her being.
In her previous life, Ai Han caused the death of Mrs. Gong aka Jiang Mushu. In this life, she paid for it.
Even Director Gong was going to pay for his misdeeds.
Karma was truly a terrifying thing.
Taking a deep breath, Yu Holea quietly informed the parents of Ai Han about her death and gave them some compensation, just enough to let them survive when she realized that Ai Han was the breadwinner of their family.
Though she disliked Ai Han and had no relationship with her, Yu Holea couldn’t bear to see the elderly people cry.
Was she still a saint? Maybe. But when she saw some people painting Ai Han as a pure person, she directly asked someone to post more information about Ai Han’s bad deeds.
Within a few rounds, those voices died down soon.
......................
In the bedroom of a grand mansion.
Yu Mei gloomily heard the news regarding Ai Han and her eyes blazed with fury. All of her efforts were in vain! She hung up the call.
Yu Mei clenched her fists, teeth gritted in frustration.
Her schemes, which she had once thought flawless, seemed to crumble each time she took a step forward.
Ai Han’s downfall was a severe blow, losing not only a valuable pawn but also an avenue through which she could indirectly torment Yu Holea.
Just as she was contemplating her next move, her phone vibrated with an unusual flurry of notifications.
Confused, she glanced down at the screen, noticing that her name had been tagged over 10,000 times on a trending topic.
"What’s this?" she muttered, curiosity getting the better of her.
As she clicked on the link and listened to the attached recording, her face turned stone-cold.
The audio was unmistakably her voice, flirtatious and coy, sweet-talking a young second-generation heir of a wealthy family.
She could practically hear herself laughing and making subtle promises to secure a high-profile endorsement from his family business.
It was nothing more than the usual honey trap she used to attract potential allies, but recorded and shared so publicly? Her stomach twisted.
The worst part was not even the recording—it was the eruption of backlash that had followed.
Within minutes, netizens dug up old photos she had posted with her fiancé, Leng Huan, and began lambasting her for two-timing.
The comments poured in, some sarcastic, others filled with disdain:
"So much for being a loyal fiancée! Just another gold-digger."
"Poor Leng Huan. She’s toying with two guys at once, how despicable!"
"And that second-gen heir has a fiancée too! She’s ruining two engagements!"
As the criticism spiraled, Yu Mei panicked. Desperate, she immediately called her assistant, her voice low and icy.
"Draft a statement. Threaten to sue anyone slandering me, and make it seem like the audio was tampered with," she ordered, her voice sharper than usual.
The assistant, sensing her urgency, promised to handle it quickly. Still fuming, Yu Mei rubbed her temples.
How had that recording even ended up online? Her thoughts raced, piecing together possible culprits.
Could it be the second-generation heir? Perhaps he was attempting to break off his engagement to be with her.
It wasn’t unlikely, she thought, though she couldn’t deny the unsettling suspicion that her phone had been hacked.
Just then, her phone buzzed with a call from Leng Huan, and Yu Mei’s blood ran cold.
She took a deep breath, forcing herself to speak in a soft tone, trying to sound shocked rather than afraid.
In her usual sweet voice, she greeted him,
"Good evening dear hubby~"
Leng Huan’s cold voice sounded from the other end of the phone.
"Yu Mei, what is going on?"
Yu Mei decided to play dumb and asked in a clueless voice,
"Hubby what-"
"Don’t call me hubby. I feel disgusted." Leng Huan practically shouted. "Don’t act dumb. I want an explanation for the things going on the internet."
"Leng, you saw the post?" Yu Mei asked carefully.
Leng Huan remained silent.
"Huan how can you believe such a post? It was all-" Before Yu Mei could finish her words Leng Huan interrupted her.
"I don’t want to hear your excuses, Yu Mei," he cut her off, his voice tinged with cold fury. "I’ve already asked my team to verify the recording. It’s authentic."
The color drained from Yu Mei’s face. She hadn’t expected Leng to act so decisively.
Scrambling for words, she took a shaky breath, letting her voice quiver to simulate vulnerability.
"Leng, please, just let me explain," she began, her tone dipping into a sob. "I... I didn’t have a choice."
"Didn’t have a choice?" he repeated, incredulous.
"You were laughing with him, Yu Mei. There was no sign of coercion in your voice."
Yu Mei swallowed, pressing her fingertips to her temples as she fought to stay calm.
She switched tactics, playing on his sympathy, knowing he had always been the protective type.
"Leng, I did it for us," she whispered, choking back fake tears.
"I was... I was cornered! That man’s family has so much power in the industry, and he wanted something from me. If I refused him, he would’ve destroyed my career!"
Silence filled the line, and Yu Mei held her breath, hoping her words had struck a chord.
But Leng Huan’s voice came back harder, laced with resentment.
"So, you’re saying you sacrificed our relationship for your career? How noble, Yu Mei."
Her heart skipped a beat, her mind racing to recover from the situation.
"It’s not what you think, Leng! You know the industry is brutal, and I had no intention of hurting you. I was trying to help secure our future!" she said, desperate.
"Don’t act like this is some noble sacrifice," Leng replied coldly.
"If you’re lying to me, Yu Mei, that’s one thing. But do you really think I’d believe you’d use yourself as bait for an endorsement?"
Yu Mei almost wanted to slap Leng Huan.
