"Come in." Sheng Yin said.

A servant in a black uniform walked in, lowered his head, and informed,

"Miss Sheng, Second Young Master Yu has called you into his room."

"Understood."

The servant left the room and Sheng Yin walked towards Yu Shuchang’s room.

Knock. Knock.

Before entering the room, Sheng Yin knocked on the door and waited patiently for Yu Shuchang to say ’come in’

Sheng Yin’s pulse quickened.

The heat of his bare skin pressed against her, and the intimate proximity made her cheeks flush a deep crimson.

She wanted to push him away, to keep her distance, but something about the way his grip tightened slightly made her hesitate.

"Second Young Master," she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper, "This... this isn’t appropriate."

Yu Shuchang chuckled softly,

"Appropriate? I was just testing your reflexes. You’re full of surprises, Miss Sheng."

His hand slid down her arm, almost casually, but it left a trail of warmth in its wake.

Sheng Yin’s breathing became shallow.

She could feel his heartbeat against her back, the closeness almost intoxicating.

Memories of her past life flooded her mind—of how she once longed for such moments with him, how her heart had once foolishly beat for this man.

But this wasn’t the same. She wasn’t the same.

With a swift move, Sheng Yin twisted out of his grasp, turning to face him, her eyes blazing with sharpness,

"Second Young Master, I agreed to the contract, not... this."

Yu Shuchang’s smile faded slightly, replaced by a more serious expression.

His eyes locked onto hers, studying her, reading the emotions she was trying so hard to hide.

"You misunderstand, Miss Sheng. I wasn’t planning to cross any lines."

He stepped closer again, this time slower, more deliberate.

His hand reached out, brushing a stray lock of hair away from her face.

His touch was gentle, but the intensity of his gaze made Sheng Yin’s heart skip a beat.

"Why do you always keep your guard up around me?" he asked quietly, his voice low and husky.

"You act like I’m the villain in your story."

Sheng Yin swallowed hard, her throat dry.

Looking back Sheng Yin realized that Yu Shuchang was telling the truth...

However...

Everything was because of a reason.

She wanted to tell him the truth, to reveal the hurt and disappointment she had carried from her previous life. But she couldn’t.

Even though the hurt of her previous life was the primary source of her guard against him...she couldn’t tell it to him.

"I’m not keeping my guard up. I just don’t want to make things... complicated."

Yu Shuchang leaned in slightly, his face just inches from hers.

"Complicated? Life is already complicated, Miss Sheng. Especially when two people are pretending to be something they’re not."

Sheng Yin felt her resolve waver.

She was supposed to be indifferent, unaffected by him, but standing this close to him, with his gaze piercing through her defenses, she felt herself slipping into dangerous territory.

Before she could respond, Yu Shuchang’s hand cupped her chin gently, lifting her face toward his.

His thumb grazed her lower lip, his eyes darkening with an emotion she couldn’t quite decipher.

"Tell me," he whispered, his voice like velvet, "why do I feel like you’re hiding something from me?"

Sheng Yin’s breath hitched.

For a moment, she couldn’t speak, couldn’t think. All she could focus on was the intensity in his eyes, the way his touch sent shivers down her spine.

Finally, she pushed him away and smiled gently,

"Mr. Yu, I have some work pending. If you truly want to talk about such useless stuff, then I will take my leave."

Yu Shuchang didn’t close the distance between them again, it was never his intention in the first place, it was just...his curiosity...it was piqued.

"Okay, Miss Sheng...I was just kidding, I hope you won’t take it to heart."

’Of course, I will not take it to heart. If I did I would end up just like how to end up in my past life. This flirting nature of yours is enough to mislead anyone but this time I won’t make a mistake.’ Sheng Yin thought but a gentle smile remained on her lips.

"Shall we sign the contract Second Young Master?" Sheng Yin asked.

"Sure."

After the contract was signed, Sheng Yin left saying she had some work to finish.

Yu Mei woke up at the sound of her phone ringing and asked in a lazy tone,

"Is the work done?"

Her face had a relaxed expression and she was sure that her plan would work.

But the confident expression on her face didn’t last long.

The more she listened, the more serious her face became and finally, she turned silent.

"What should I do no?" The other person, Ai Han asked.

Yu Mei thought for a while and said,

"Let’s spread rumors about her for the time being. Act as if the person who was caught in the bed with Director Gong wasn’t you but her."

"Eh? But what about those who attended the party and the girl who recorded everything?" Ai Han asked worriedly.

"Don’t worry about it I will deal with everything." Yu Mei said calmly, "Oh right, don’t spread the rumor right away. Wait for a few days. Until and unless I send you the signal don’t spread any rumor."

She was planning to call each of the people present there and alert there memory including the small-time influence who had recorded.

It might take her a few days but with the dark lord by her side, she could do it easily.

Ai Han agreed readily and hung up.

But in order to prepare for future plans she started to take action right away.

The shooting phase was divided into three parts.

In the first phase, all the scenes that were about to take place in City S was going to be shot. In the second phase, the team would travel to some other location, and in the last phase, special effects scenes were going to be shot.

As soon as Yu Holea reached the shooting location she met Vivian and Zhan Yibao who were acting lovely dovey.

Yu Holea admired them.
