Qiao Jun was vulnerable right now, and the last thing she wanted was for someone to take advantage of him—especially someone as close to him as Rong Xue.

She found Rong Xue waiting for her just outside the hospital building. He was leaning against the wall, his expression calm and collected, as if he had been expecting her.

"Miss Yu," he greeted her with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. "What can I do for you?"

"Stay away from him." Yu Holea said coldly.

"Hey! That’s not fair. He is my best friend!" Rong Xue acted as if he was hurt by Yu Holea’s words.

"Best friends don’t stab each other in the back." Yu Holea narrowed her eyes.

"Yeah, they don’t and I haven’t yet."

"Your expression just now was enough to tell that you were going to do something wrong." Yu Holea argued.

Rong Xue pushed himself away from the wall and walked up to Yu Holea.

"Miss Yu, you don’t have any proof to accuse me of anything," Rong Xue said, his voice calm.

"I don’t need proof to know that your intentions aren’t pure. Qiao Jun may have lost his memories, but I haven’t. I know the type of person you are, and I won’t let you manipulate him." Yu Holea gritted her teeth.

"You protect him so much, but do you know he isn’t a good person too? Just to protect you, he stabbed me in the back. He promised to give up on yet he snatched you away from me!" Towards the end, Rong Xue’s eyes turned red from anger.

Yu Holea narrowed her eyes and asked,

"What do you mean?"

"Remember the day when you confessed to him and he rejected you? He promised to let me have you!" Rong Xue shouted.

Yu Holea’s head titled slightly,

"Wait a minute, who told you I had confessed to him?"

Yu Holea knew by heart, that how Qiao Jun never received her messages and the letter she slid into his door through the small gap from the door.

Other than Qiao Li and Qiao Zifei, no one knew about her confession...so how does he know?

Rong Xue was stunned.

By mistake he let out the truth, he had been hiding for so many days.

For a moment he seemed to have returned to the time when he was waiting in the Qiao Jun’s room.

That day, he wanted to confront Qiao Jun about his feelings and wanted to announce that they should start a fair and just battle.

However, suddenly he heard the sound of footsteps, followed by a long silence, and a small pink envelope slid into the room.

Curious, Rong Xue picked up the letter, but when the familiar scent from the envelope hit his nose, he froze.

It was Yu Holea’s scent. His heart pounded as he realized what this could mean. Unable to resist, Rong Xue opened the envelope and read the letter inside.

The words were simple yet filled with emotion—Yu Holea’s confession of love addressed to Qiao Jun.

His heart sank, but something darker began to rise within him.

He knew he shouldn’t have read it, but the jealousy and pain consumed him.

It wasn’t fair.

He had loved Yu Holea for so long, yet she had chosen Qiao Jun, who never even noticed her feelings.

Though he accepted that he made a mistake by not loving her in their past life, he vowed to love her in this life.

What was even more infuriating was that he was reborn just so he could make things right between him and Yu Holea. Destiny doesn’t seem to be in his favor.

Luckily he saw those messages before Qiao Jun, replied to them in a cold tone, and asked her never to mention the confession to him(Qiao Jun).

He deleted those messages too.

When everything was over, Rong Xue felt guilty. He knew he was wrong, but he couldn’t bear the thought of losing Yu Holea again, especially after being given a second chance at life.

His guilt battled with his desperation, but in the end, the fear of losing her won out.

Rong Xue had convinced himself that he was doing the right thing, that somehow, by keeping Yu Holea and Qiao Jun apart, he was protecting his own future happiness.

He tried to justify his actions by telling himself that Qiao Jun didn’t deserve her and that Yu Holea would be better off with him. But deep down, he knew he was only lying to himself.

Hence he decided to tell Qiao Jun the truth when he came out of the shower.

However...when Qiao Jun came out of the shower, he told him about his upcoming adventure, and he(Qiao Jun) was ready to give up on Yu Holea, Rong Xue felt hope in his heart.

He used his superpower on Qiao Jun in the hope that Qiao Jun wasn’t lying. And to his delight, Qiao Jun wasn’t.

Due to his(Rong Xue’s) superpower, Qiao Jun didn’t hear Yu Holea’s incoming footsteps and said all the hurtful words, which further made Yu Holea give up.

That day Rong Xue felt as if his happiness was within his grasp.

He started to think of ways to woo Yu Holea.

However, just after Qiao Jun’s departure, he saw a message sent by Qiao Jun on Yu Holea’s phone.

At that time he realized that Qiao Jun was betraying him.

He lied that he(Qiao Jun) had given up on Yu Holea.

Hence without any further guilt, Rong Xue deleted those messages from Yu Holea’s phone.

His heart was filled with jealousy when he thought of the second message sent by Qiao Jun. It was about a kiss...

He was so angry that he wanted to beat Qiao Jun.

As he recalled the past Rong Xue pursued his lip.

Since Qiao Jun could betray him once, he could do the same. Then they will be even.

"He had told me." Rong Xue said to Yu Holea.

Yu Holea narrowed her eyes,

"When did he tell you?"

"Does it matter? Miss Yu, you are thinking too much. If you keep on digging I will take as you...taking interest in me. Are you interested in me?"

Yu Holea closed her eyes decided to ignore Rong Xue and walked off.

Suddenly she paused and said,

"If you dare to mess up with Jun, just wait and watch how I will deal with you."

"Sure."

Yu Holea returned to the hospital room and saw Qiao Jun who was reading a book.

Seeing Yu Holea, Qiao Jun asked,

"Are you done talking?"

"Hm."

"Since you are my fiance, you should have a very good relationship with my best friend, right?" Qiao Jun asked curiously.

Yu Holea lowered her gaze as determination flashed in her eyes.

No! She can’t wait for anything wrong to happen.

Thinking so, Yu Holea lifted her head, this time her eyes had turned a bit seductive and she walked up to Qiao Jun swaying her waist.

Qiao Jun asked in a hoarse voice,

"What is it?"

"You see I don’t like your best friend and I want you to ignore him. As long as you ignore him, I will..." Yu Holea slowly caressed Qiao Jun’s lips.

Though Yu Holea didn’t finish her words, Qiao Jun understood what she meant and nodded his head eagerly.

Currently, he wasn’t in his right mind. All he could think was...how Yu Holea’s lips tasted.

This thought had appeared in his mind just 2 hours ago, but now...a chance was given to him, to make his fantasy true, how could he not agree?
