Lira watched her carefully, noticing the change in her demeanor.

"My lady, should I increase security? This might be a plot by someone to get close to you."

Yu Holea shook her head slightly.

"No, Lira. If someone wanted to harm me, they would have done it more directly. This... this is something else. Anyways no need to keep an eye."

"Understood," Lira responded, though concern was etched on her face.

Yu Holea dismissed her and sat down in her seat.

"Did you like the breakfast?" A cheerful voice sounded in the Justice Hall.

When Yu Holea lifted her head, she saw Candidate Phoenix walking towards her. For a moment she was stunned.

The candidate phoenix she knew was evil and had a gloomy personality with scheming in her eyes all the time. She looked very unreliable and evil.

Nothing like a candidate of Goddess City.

But now she looked completely different. There was a brightness in her eyes, a warmth in her smile that Yu Holea had never seen before.

With each step, her holiness became more and more clear. Her aura was filled with arrogance yet looked like a noble person.

It was almost as if she was a different person altogether.

Now Yu Holea understood why Candidate Phoenix was given a phoenix mask. She indeed looked like a phoenix...

"Good." Yu Holea answered subconsciously.

Candidate Phoenix approached with a gentle smile, her demeanor was soft and almost affectionate.

"I’m glad you enjoyed the breakfast," she said, her voice filled with genuine care.

Yu Holea couldn’t help but feel a surge of confusion.

This was the same Candidate Phoenix who had caused so much trouble, who had harbored dark intentions.

And yet, here she was, standing before her with an entirely different aura.

Though Candidate Phoenix said earlier that she would repent for her sins, however, Yu Holea didn’t have many expectations.

"I will prepare your breakfast from now on." Candidate Phoenix said with a smile.

Yu Holea snapped out of her daze,

"No need. I-"

"Please Candidate Qilin? Please!" Saying so Candidate Phoenix leaned on Yu Holea and linked her arms.

She also went as far as rubbing her face against Yu Holea.

Yu Holea: "..."

Suddenly she could relate to the words, ’loving phoenix’

She even felt that Candidate Phoenix looked very cute.

Yu Holea shook her head and pulled away her arms,

"No need. Go back to your seat."

Candidate Phoenix looked at Yu Holea with a sad expression and slowly walked toward her seat.

In between she would turn back to see Yu Holea with a reluctant look in her eyes.

Yu Holea ignored her and waited for the other candidate to arrive before asking to start working.

Surprisingly this time Sister Phoenix objected.

Yu Holea chuckled in her heart. See this is the true face of her...

"Candidate Qilin I want to suggest that we should compete with each other and whoever finishes their work first will be given rabbit and phoenix cookies made by you."

Other candidates didn’t feel the idea was good and were about to object when Candidate Phoenix gave them a look and all of them almost cried.

First, only Candidate Qiilin tortured them, now even sister phoenix wants to torture them!

This time Yu Holea was indeed tempted.

If Candidate Phoenix truly can take over, won’t she(Yu Holea) become free and have more time to visit earth?

"Think about it Candidate Qilin, your task will be completed and you won’t have to move your finger!" Candidate Phoenix continued to tempt.

Candidate Swan looked at Candidate Phoenix’s boot-licking expression and almost laughed.

"But the goddess..." Yu Holea frowned. She worried that the goddess wouldn’t recognize her effort and would not give her(Yu Holea) the decided reward.

"Oh don’t worry about that old woman...I mean the goddess, I will take care of her." Candidate Phoenix patted her chest.

Yu Holea’s lips twitched.

She was a little amused by Candidate Phoenix’s antics and almost laughed.

"Fine. If you want to take the responsibility on your head, who am I to stop you." Yu Holea said calmly.

But Candidate Phoenix was filled with happiness,

"Yes!"

Then she returned to her seat and started to work fast.

Others returned to their seat with bored expressions.

They weren’t interested in the competition at all. They were waiting for the last activity.

As a result, Candidate Phoenix won the competition by a large margin.

Once the competition finished, Candidate Phoenix teleported herself and Yu Holea to Yu Holea’s villa.

In the context that she won’t have to bother about the goddess city anymore, Yu Holea let her do whatever she wanted.

"Hm...Candidate Qilin, can we also watch a movie together?"

"No." Yu Holea rejected her.

"Please! See, I am going to be very busy in the coming next 3 months and will have to handle all of your work, so this might be the last chance for us to spend some time together before I become completely swamped with tasks." Candidate Phoenix pleaded, her voice softening as she looked at Yu Holea with wide, hopeful eyes.

Yu Holea paused.

"Just one movie," Candidate Phoenix coaxed, her voice taking on a gentle, almost melodic tone. "I promise I’ll be quiet and let you choose."

Yu Holea sighed. It wasn’t like her to be swayed by such tactics, but this was different.

Maybe it was the strange transformation she had witnessed in Candidate Phoenix earlier, or perhaps it was the exhaustion from her relentless duties.

Either way, she found herself nodding before she could think better of it.

"Fine. One movie. But no complaints if I choose something boring," Yu Holea agreed

Candidate Phoenix’s face lit up with a radiant smile and for a brief moment.

"Thank you, Candidate Qilin!" Candidate Phoenix chirped, practically bouncing on her feet. "I’ll get the snacks!"

As Phoenix darted off to the kitchen, Yu Holea touched her forehead. What was she thinking?

Anyway...this was the last time. Maybe after this, she won’t have to look after the goddess city. She will think it of as adding some browny points for her future self then...

A short while later, they settled into the plush couch of Yu Holea’s villa, the soft glow of the screen illuminating the room.

Yu Holea selected an old classic, something slow and contemplative, hoping it would bore Candidate Phoenix into silence.

But to her surprise, Phoenix was quiet throughout, her eyes focused on the screen, a peaceful expression on her face.

As the movie played, Yu Holea found herself relaxing more than she had intended, her thoughts drifting away from the burdens of her position.

When the credits rolled, Candidate Phoenix turned to Yu Holea.

At some point, Yu Holea fell asleep.

A soft smile appeared on Candidate phoenix’s face,

"You are still the same..."

A lump formed in Candidate Phoenix’s throat and she hurriedly looked away. She used her magic to place Yu Holea on her bed and tucked her in.

"You don’t need to worry, I will handle everything from you and fight for you from now on."

A few teardrops appeared in her eyes, because she too realized that she won’t be able to meet Yu Holea much from now on.

She hurriedly left the villa in fear that she would cry.

Once outside the villa, Candidate Phoenix started to cry. She sat at the entrance and cried for a long while.

"Past entanglement will only hurt more, Candidate Phoenix." A melodious voice said.

"Old woman, I am not in a mood to listen to your long speech, please leave." Candidate Phoenix said with closed eyes.

"Hey! How can you call me old woman? Aren’t you..."

Candidate Phoenix ignored and started to walk away.

"You truly! I am just telling you this for your benefit. She won’t remember her memory. She won’t know the truth in the end and she won’t that it was her karma. In this life, she will only blame you! And will never..."

"Shut up!" Candidate Phoenix shouted.
