"I’d rather stand alone in truth than be surrounded by deceit." Yu Holea calmly stated.

Even though Lira disagreed with Yu Holea’s approach, she knew there wasn’t much she could do. She was assigned to assist Yu Holea, not fight on her behalf.

The next few days, a few weak-hearted candidates begged Yu Holea to withdraw those ghosts, but Yu Holea didn’t even spare them any glance.

She was in fact thinking of a way to start her revenge officially.

After a few days, Yu Holea received the news that the cat-masked woman was going to apply for heaven’s acknowledgment.

Some of the candidates who weren’t on good terms with Sister Phoenix and couldn’t go to Yu Holea, started to fawn over the cat-masked woman, hoping to gain favor if she succeeded.

Yu Holea observed the unfolding events with a detached curiosity. She knew the challenge hall was not a place for the faint-hearted.

The acknowledgment of heaven was not easily granted.

One evening, as Yu Holea was reviewing documents in her study, Lira rushed in.

"My lady, there’s news from the challenge hall," she announced breathlessly.

Yu Holea looked up, raising an eyebrow. "And?"

"Miss Cat is about to start the challenge!" Lira said with an excited expression.

Her eyes were clearly telling Yu Holea, ’Let’s go and have fun!’

Yu Holea chuckled and decided to fulfill her wish,

"Oh? I am curious! Let’s go and see her."

Lira was excited and said,

"Come on my lady! I will lead you to the challenge hall."

"Sure."

Soon Lira and Yu Holea got ready.

As Yu Holea followed behind Lira and Sir Aldric she couldn’t help but become stunned. The path which they were taking was completely opposite to the path of the library!

Maybe they don’t know the path to challenge hall?

Yu Holea thought that it was quite possible. Since no book or map mentioned the path to the challenge hall.

After all, she was able to reach the challenge hall which was located in the library because of that old lady.

Just as she was about to stop them, she heard Sir Aldric say,

"We have reached."

Huh?

Yu Holea looked at the unfamiliar surroundings, confused. "This isn’t the way to the challenge hall," she stated firmly.

Lira grinned mischievously. "Trust me, my lady, this is a shortcut. Sir Aldric knows all the hidden paths in the palace."

Yu Holea raised an eyebrow, skeptical but intrigued. "Very well, lead the way."

Sir Aldric nodded respectfully and continued to guide them through the winding corridors and hidden passageways of the palace.

The route was unfamiliar to Yu Holea, but she trusted Sir Aldric’s expertise.

After a few more minutes of walking, they emerged into a grand hallway adorned with intricate carvings and glowing runes.

At the end of the hallway stood a massive door with ancient symbols etched into its surface.

"This is it," Sir Aldric said, his voice low and reverent. "The true entrance to the challenge hall."

Yu Holea frowned and stood aside. Just as she had expected.

The challenge hall in which she was now and the challenge hall from where she gained the acknowledgment was completely different!

Looking at the relaxed faces of Lira and Si Aldric, Yu Holea knew that something was amiss.

Either the challenge hall in front of her was fake or the challenge hall in which she entered was fake. Or...both of them but true...

Other than Yu Holea, there was another candidate too.

Each of them was hyping the cat-masked woman,

"Sister Cat, if you get acknowledged by the heavens please don’t forget about us." This was the Hawk-masked woman.

"Yes! And please take revenge on our behalf once you succeed, sister cat!" The masked woman said with a flattering expression.

"Sister Cat, I believe that you will for sure succeed! I wish you all the best! If possible please rub off some of your good luck to us when you succeed!"

"Thank you all for your support," the cat-masked woman replied with a serene smile. "I will do my best to bring honor to us all."

The cat-masked woman then turned her gaze toward Yu Holea, her eyes were overflowing with sarcasm.

"Once I succeed I will ask each candidate to slap you 10 times."

In Goddess City as long as you have the same status, you can punish the other person!

"Sister Cat you are amazing! Only you know how to seek justice for us!" The dove masked woman said.

Yu Holea frowned.

From the moment she entered the goddess city, she wasn’t able to understand many things.

Why even though these goddesses are so cruel? Shouldn’t they be kind and gentle? Why is each of them worse than the other?

Let alone kind, they seemed to revel in their cruelty, finding joy in others’ suffering.

This was a stark contrast to everything Yu Holea had ever read or been taught about goddesses.

"Very well," Yu Holea said, her voice steady. "Let’s see if you can succeed first."

The cat-masked woman smirked. "You speak with such confidence. We’ll see how long that lasts."

Turning towards the door, the cat-masked woman started to chant some spells. The runes on the massive door started to glow.

Finally, the cat-masked woman said,

"Oh! Great mighty one. Please let me enter!"

Whoosh.

The door opened and the cat-masked woman entered inside.

Once the cat-masked woman went inside, the door closed.

"Hey, do you know what was the first test?" The Hawk masked woman said.

"I guess it is about clean thought something..." The dove masked woman replied.

Clean thought?

Yu Holea now started to wonder whether she had even taken the right test.

What clean thoughts? Her first test was about the illusion.

Just as Yu Holea was wondering about whether she should take a retest or not, the door opened and the cat-masked woman was thrown out of the room.

The cat-masked woman landed on the ground with a thud, her mask askew, revealing a look of utter bewilderment and humiliation.

The crowd gasped in shock, and the candidates who had been flattering her moments ago exchanged worried glances.

"My god! Why was she thrown out in just 2 minutes?" The dove masked woman said with shock on her face.

"To think that cat-masked woman lost in the first test shows how difficult the test is!" The Hawk-masked woman analyzed calmly.

"Difficult? She is mostly likely overestimating herself! She didn’t even prepare for the test properly. How could she pass?" The lion masked woman said with a sarcastic expression.

The cat-masked woman scrambled to her feet, her face flushed with embarrassment.

"This... this is a mistake! I was prepared! I should have passed!" she stammered, her eyes darting around, seeking support.

Everyone cast her with a sympathetic look but no one came forward to help her.

"Let’s go," Yu Holea said to Lira and Sir Aldric, turning away from the spectacle. "Looks like I won’t be slapped today."

The cat-masked woman gritted her teeth in hatred and shouted,

"How! How did you clear the first level? Did you use some tricks? B*tch..."

"Instead of blaming me, you should think about what you are doing wrong. After all, you are a candidate for inheriting the goddess power but you are using words like b*tch...

If you can gain the acknowledgment of heaven in such a way...then I would truly start to question the heavens." Yu Holea said calmly.

The cat-masked woman seethed, her fists clenched tightly at her sides. Yu Holea’s words cut deep, but she had no retort.

The murmurs among the other candidates grew louder, some even chuckling at the cat-masked woman’s misfortune.

Yu Holea turned to leave, her expression calm and composed. Lira and Sir Aldric followed closely behind her, navigating through the grand hallway’s intricate carvings and glowing runes.

"Do you think she will try again?" Lira asked, glancing back at the cat-masked woman, who was still surrounded by murmuring candidates.

Yu Holea shook her head.

"She might, but she needs to reflect on her approach. The acknowledgment of heaven isn’t something that can be achieved through arrogance and spite."

Even though she doesn’t know why their test was so different, Yu Holea thinks that the primary reason for the failure of the cat-masked woman is her jealous nature and blind arrogance.

Lira and Sir Aldric exchanged a look. Their lady was truly amazing!

They felt that Yu Holea’s words held some truth.

"By the way, is there any other challenge hall in the goddess city? Or any other entrance to reach the challenge hall? And what levels do we have to clear to gain acknowledgment? " Yu Holea asked,

Sir Aldric and Lira were confused.

"My lady don’t you have already gained..."

"I have I am just curious."

"Oh okay. No, there is no other entrance to the challenged hall, as for levels...First is a clean thoughts level, second is withstanding the internal demons, third is judgment, and fourth is pain."
