Their faces in his brain slowly blurred into black shadows with red eyes.

He started to feel as if they were haunting him and hence he started to look for Yu Holea in the hopes that they would disappear, just like they did whenever she was around him.

However even after 5 days of repeatedly asking and not getting to see Yu Holea with no absolute news about her, made him panic, and many thoughts appeared in his mind.

What if...what if his Sister Lea doesn’t want him? What if...what if the adventure week because of which she wasn’t able to meet him for a week, was just a way for him to get used to her absence?

What should he do then?

Run away? But what if some other enemy of his so-called biological parents finds him? They would bind him and torture him just like Erick did.

No, he can’t run away...

So he decided to coerce Sheng Yin into telling him where Yu Holea was.

But seeing her unwilling face, he decided to use some other method and the one that appeared in his mind first was...

Kris looked into Yu Holea’s eyes with fear.

Yu Holea who was about to scold Kris for the first time, instantly felt stifled.

Bending on her knees, Yu Holea did something that Kris, never expected.

"Stop! No! Sister, please don’t slap yourself!" Kris shouted and held Yu Holea’s hand, in order to prevent her from slapping herself.

However, Yu Holea just looked at him with teary eyes and continued to slap herself.

"Sister, please! Please sister... don’t slap yourself." Kris pleaded.

However Yu Holea didn’t stop and instead said in a pained voice,

"I failed. I failed Kris. I failed to gain your trust. I failed to make you feel secure. I failed miserably in raising you. I am sorry."

With Yu Holea’s each words, Kris felt as if his heart would explode because of the pain.

He expected many different responses from Yu Holea.

She scolding him, expressing disappointment, or give him cold treatment, maybe...maybe beating him, making him starve, or giving him some physical punishment.

Or worst come worst, abandoning him.

Except for the last one he was ready to face any other consequence.

He was mentally prepared for everything...except this.

It was then that Kris realized, he wasn’t scared of mental pain or physical pain, he was scared of seeing tears in Yu Holea’s eyes, or her harming herself.

Sheng Yin who was shocked by Yu Holea’s action, came out of her daze and hurried forward to stop her, but when she heard Yu Holea’s words a lump formed in her throat.

Her eyes stung suddenly, but she controlled her emotions and went forward to hold Yu Holea from slapping herself.

"Stop it Holea! Don’t!"

However even after Sheng Yin and Kris’s repeated plea Yu Holea didn’t stop.

Sheng Yin suddenly shouted at her,

"Isn’t he already suffered from enough trauma? Why are you giving him more trauma? Stop."

It was as if Yu Holea had suddenly come out of a trance, she stopped.

Sheng Yin heaved a sigh of relief and Kris hugged Yu Holea while crying pitifully,

"I won’t! I will never ever again harm myself! Please, please don’t do this again."

He was crying so pitifully that Sheng Yin felt like crying too.

Yu Holea hugged him and repeatedly apologized,

"I am sorry. I am sorry. I won’t...I will never slap myself. Sorry kris. Sorry."

However, Kris didn’t stop crying.

Yu Holea having no choice, hugged him and went upstairs to her room while asking Sheng Yin to bring some water and food.

Along the way, Yu Holea kept on coaxing Kris to stop crying.

By the time they reached her room, Kris’s crying was reduced to sobbing.

Yu Holea felt relieved and guilty at the same time.

She scolded herself in her heart while patting Kris who gradually calmed down.

"Kris." Yu Holea called out but he didn’t respond to her.

"Kris."

"Why are you not talking with your sister Lea now?"

No answer.

"Are you angry ?"

"Hmph." Kris humped with an angry expression on his face.

Yu Holea felt a bit helpless.

Just a few moments ago this guy was crying and apologizing to her and now he was angry.

Truly men are unpredictable.

He is just like his brother Qiao Jun.

Maybe the Qiao brother has this exclusive trait of being unpredictable.

The moment this notion appeared in her mind, she heard Little Jun’s surprised voice,

"He is my brother?"

It was then that Yu Holea realized that Little Jun had woken up.

"Yes." Yu Holea replied and focused her attention on Kris.

"Why are you angry?" Yu Holea asked.

But Kris didn’t reply.

It was the first time since Yu Holea saw him throwing a tantrum and a sweet smile appeared on her face.

She didn’t scold him and instead was about to coax him when Sheng Yin appeared with snacks.

"Who wants snacks?"

Yu Holea took the tray while holding Kris on her lap.

Kris too didn’t struggle away.

It was one thing that he was angry at his sister and it was another thing to be in her lovely embrace.

He wasn’t going to give up this rare chance of luxury because of his childish anger.

Yu Holea using the chopstick dipped some rice in the gravy and placed it in front of Kris.

Kris was thrilled and his heart was filled with joy, however, he still kept a poker face and opened his mouth.

Yu Holea smirked when she saw the fish taking her bait and moved the chopstick away.

Then in an exaggerated voice, she said,

"Since you don’t want to have a bite then I will eat it."

"No! I want to eat!" Kris exclaimed, his indifferent facade fading away.

Yu Holea tried to control her smile and said with a calm face,

"But from your face, it looks like you don’t want me to feed you."

"I want!" Kris said hurriedly and then his face turned red.

Sheng Yin and Yu Holea chuckled making Kris feel like he would burn because of embrassement.

Yu Holea moved the chopsticks in front of Kris who showed a reluctant expression with a red face.

"Eat." Yu Holea said and Kris obediently ate the food.

Only after feeding him the lunch did Yu Holea stop and wipe his mouth.

Then she started undressing the bandage around Kris’s face and Kris didn’t resist at all.

Yu Holea was happy when she saw that Kris’s skin had slowly started to grow.

But...

Yu Holea narrowed her eyes and asked,

"Kris you didn’t take your medicine for the last 2 days, right?"
