Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Earth-Level Disaster! (Seeking Recommendation Tickets)_1
The Red-clothed Female Ghost sneered maliciously, her madness fully revealed. "This world is unfair, and I have been treated unjustly, so! I will create a child to take revenge, to kill all the living."
Chu Hao couldn’t be bothered to listen to her nonsense and stabbed fiercely with his sword.
Suddenly, the Red-clothed Female Ghost waved her sleeve, and her entire body incredibly transformed into a mass of red blood, shooting out of the cave at high speed.
The Red-clothed Female Ghost’s voice echoed back, "I’m going to kill everyone related to you."
"Damn it! Don’t run!" Chu Hao roared in anger.
Fuming, he cursed himself. I was too naive! The Red-clothed Female Ghost had been recovering. She’d learned evil techniques, so escaping was easy for her.
By then, Sadako had already rescued Jiayeci and Chu Beauty.
Chu Hao’s face was somber. "Kill everyone related to me? Good... you have thoroughly enraged me."
"Let’s go."
「Anli City.」
The Twin Towers Building consisted of two towers, each with one hundred and eight floors. However, beneath the Twin Towers lay a mysterious thirty-seven-level underground facility. This facility housed a massive bunker, home to the paranormal investigation department known as the Seventh District.
At that moment, the alarms of the Seventh District blared, signaling a Level One alert and jolting countless people from their sleep.
Within the conference room, the display showed the Yin Qi detection meters developed by the Seventh District hitting the red warning line.
"Alert! Alert! Powerful Evil Qi detected in the southwest direction!"
"Alert! Alert! Powerful Evil Qi detected in the southwest direction!"
The alarms continued to sound.
In the luxurious conference room, Old Yuan, head of the Seventh District, watched the needle on the meter jump into the red warning zone. It stayed there, refusing to drop. He exclaimed in shock, "The Evil Qi has reached seventy percent!"
Seventy percent!
What did that signify? If a Ghost appeared in Anli City, the Evil Qi would typically be around ten percent; for Fierce Ghosts, it was usually around twenty percent. Since the meter’s creation, the highest level recorded had been fifty percent, designated as a Profound Level First Stage disaster.
Disasters were classified into four tiers: Sky, Earth, Profound, and Yellow. They were further divided into First Stage, Second Stage, and Third Stage. This was a strict classification system, and ordinary Xiao Gui and Evil Ghosts were not typically considered disaster-level threats.
Just two days prior, the Nine-infant Ghost had been classified only as Yellow Level First Stage. Unexpectedly, both the Thousand-year Drought Demon and the Douli Man were also subsequently classed as Yellow Level Third Stage.
Eighteen years ago, the Profound Level First Stage disaster that struck Anli City had shaken countless people. The Seventh District had deployed over eighty percent of its resources to extinguish that terrifying Ghost. They paid a steep price: 107 casualties within the Seventh District and 3,367 deaths among the population of Anli City.
So, with the Yin Qi meter hitting the red warning line now, was this even more dreadful than the disaster eighteen years ago?
Old Man Yuan’s voice trembled. "Song Lou, quickly call Longhu Mountain! The Seventh District cannot handle this Ghost!"
Song Lou’s head was wrapped in gauze, his injuries not yet healed. He immediately picked up the phone to call, as he was a disciple of Longhu Mountain.
Little Ying’s face was pale, her voice trembling as she asked, "Teacher Yuan, what’s the disaster level this time?!"
Before Old Man Yuan could respond, a tall, burly middle-aged man with a bear-like stature and a bearded face, his eyes sharp and intense, strode into the conference room. "Earth Level," he announced. "The stage is still unclear."
Little Ying was overjoyed. "Deputy Director, you’re back!"
The dozens in the conference room exclaimed.
Earth Level!!
Forget Anli City; even in recorded history, there had only been a few Earth Level disasters.
Old Yuan cried out, "Director Feng, what do we do?"
Director Feng frowned, a headache already forming. "Fortunately, it’s the middle of the night, and most of Anli City is asleep. If it were daytime, we’d be in much greater trouble."
"Little Ying, go and inform the Five Tiger Generals to return."
The Five Tiger Generals were famous military commanders of the Three Kingdoms period. They didn’t only exist in ancient times; such individuals were also present in the Seventh District, all top-tier Exorcists.
Little Ying said excitedly, "Yes, Feng Ju!"
At this moment, Song Lou walked back in. "Feng Ju," he reported, "the Grand Master of Longhu Mountain has been informed of the situation. He’s sending people over, but it will take three days." f.r(e)e\webn.ovel.co\m
Feng Ju massaged his temples. "Three days is too long. If we can’t stop that thing, the casualties in Anli City will be even worse."
An elderly woman stood up. Dressed in a suit, she looked sharp and spirited. "Feng Ju," she said, "since it’s an Earth Level disaster, why don’t we use the Yin-Yang Symbol Array?"
A gasp went through those present.
Old Man Yuan said excitedly, "The Yin-Yang Symbol Array requires an extremely powerful Exorcist to operate, and... it consumes a great deal of lifespan!"
Feng Ju waved his hand decisively. "We can’t worry about that now. To protect the people of Anli City, we must do this. I will personally control the Yin-Yang Symbol Array."
Feng Ju’s decision weighed heavily on everyone present.
The Yin-Yang Symbol Array was a relic from the Profound Level disaster eighteen years ago. It had been created by the most famous Yin Yang Great Master and gifted to Anli City. However, aside from that Yin Yang Great Master, anyone else who wished to operate the Yin-Yang Symbol Array had to offer their own lifespan.
With this disaster being Earth Level, no one knew if the Yin-Yang Symbol Array would even be effective.
Old Yuan immediately said, "I’ll inform nearby Exorcists."
Feng Ju shook his head. "Never mind. Those without absolute strength would only be coming here to die."
Old Yuan understood; this was a desperate situation.
Suddenly, Song Lou spoke up, "Old Yuan, there’s one more person. Maybe he can help."
Upon hearing this, Old Yuan’s eyes lit up. "How could I have forgotten! I’ll call him right away."
Feng Ju, already briefed on some intelligence, asked, "The master you’re referring to, is he the one who killed the Nine-infant Ghost and the Thousand-year Drought Demon?"
Song Lou nodded.
Feng Ju’s eyes also lit up with surprise.
Old Yuan said bitterly, "He’s not answering."
Old Yuan didn’t know that Chu Hao’s original phone and number had been taken by Diao Chan to play with.
Feng Ju ordered, "Keep calling until he answers."
Just then, Little Ying ran in, panting. "Feng Ju, the Five Tiger Generals will arrive in twenty minutes!"
"Good. Let’s move out!"
Everyone in the Seventh District mobilized.
On an expressway overpass in Anli City, a blood-red figure, moving like a Ghost Phantom, approached the structure. It was about 1.78 meters tall, its skin appearing as if stained with fresh blood. Its face was a twisted mass, resembling a lump of rotting flesh. Only its pupils were exceptionally bizarre: two bloody hooks rotated within them, and its sharp fangs made a gnashing sound.
Suddenly, it dove. A truck driver on the overpass was ripped from his cab, horrifically torn apart. The creature ate his heart and brain clean.
BANG! The truck collided with the overpass support and plunged downwards, crashing with a deafening roar.
The creature let out an excited, grotesque shriek. Its originally distorted facial features began to solidify, the outline growing clearer.
"Delicious... delicious..." The words rasped from the monster’s throat in a strange, childlike voice.
Suddenly, a helicopter appeared.
Song Lou, Little Ying, Old Yuan, and the others were stunned when they saw the blood-skinned monster. They had expected a much larger fiend or Ghost, but it was only about the size of an adult human.
Still, no one dared to be reckless.
"Fire!"
Song Lou raised a machine gun loaded with specialized bullets and opened fire on the monster.
