Chapter 40: Chapter 40: The Young Driver, The Experienced Driver_1
It wasn’t long before Ya Xiao came out, wrapped in a bath towel. Her long white legs and delicate, rosy shoulders were on full display, and the air was filled with her fragrant scent.
Ya Xiao complained, "My foot is so inconvenient; even bathing is a hassle. You’ll sleep on the sofa tonight."
No! Sleep on the sofa! Didn’t we agree we’d sleep together? Chu Hao wanted to protest but held back, his face full of gloom.
Ya Xiao teased with a smile, "What, did you really want to sleep with your big sister?"
"That... Of course not. I’m such a pure-hearted person; I’ve never even thought about it," Chu Hao said with a serious face.
"Here! This is a blanket. Just stay for one night."
Ya Xiao really did go back to her room, leaving Chu Hao with a gloomy expression, lying on the sofa trying to sleep.
After an hour of tossing and turning on the sofa, he got up. To hell with it, he thought. Then, he quietly sneaked in and saw Ya Xiao, who was already fast asleep.
"Ya Xiao, Sis!" Chu Hao called out tentatively.
He received no response. "Ya Xiao, Sis, are you asleep?" he called out louder, but still, there was no answer.
Chu Hao tiptoed onto the bed, intoxicated by the faint, captivating scent of her body. With his eyes wide open, and with the help of the moonlight from outside, he could vaguely see Ya Xiao in her nightgown. However, when he looked up, Ya Xiao’s eyes were open, and she was staring at him.
Chu Hao was nearly scared to death. This was way more thrilling than any encounter with a ghost, and his heart was pounding wildly.
Ya Xiao said, "Go to sleep."
Then, she turned her back to Chu Hao.
Sleeping at the other end of the bed, how could Chu Hao possibly fall asleep? His heart raced with impatience; he was dying to do something significant. Finally, he cautiously moved closer and slowly reached out his wandering hand, his heart pounding with excitement.
SMACK!
Ya Xiao slapped his hand away, turned to glare at him, and said, "Are you going to sleep or not? If not, get out."
Sleep? How could I possibly sleep?
Chu Hao said despondently, "Ya Xiao, Sis, I feel terrible."
"What’s wrong? Is your injury acting up?" Ya Xiao turned over to look at him, her face a picture of calm.
"I’m... I’m fine." Chu Hao swallowed the words he wanted to say, feeling utterly helpless.
Ya Xiao gave him a stern look and said, "So, are you sleeping or not? I’m really sleepy."
How could he possibly sleep under these circumstances? Chu Hao’s face was a mixture of gloom and misery.
After a while, he could hear Ya Xiao’s deep snores; she must have really fallen asleep.
Chu Hao was utterly despondent and said resignedly, "Then let’s just sleep."
Just let it be, Chu Hao thought.
「The next day.」
Chu Hao woke up groggily to find that Ya Xiao was no longer there; she had already left. Chu Hao slapped himself. Why did I sleep so soundly, damn it! Ya Xiao must have changed her clothes in the room. I missed it! I missed it!
He went out and discovered that Ya Xiao had indeed left, leaving behind a note.
"The door is open; you can let yourself out. I’ve got things to do."
With a face full of disappointment, Chu Hao returned to his own room. I’m just a rookie driver, the kind without even a license, he thought. How could I compete with an experienced driver like Ya Xiao? I miscalculated.
Back in his room, his mind replayed scenes from the previous night, only to snap back to the present where he saw a pair of fair thighs and bare little feet. The owner was lying prone on the bed, playing with a phone. Who else could it be but Diao Chan?
"Baby Diao Chan, what are you playing?"
Clutching the phone and giggling, Diao Chan turned around, revealing a beautiful melon-seed shaped face, and said, "Master, I’m playing King of Glory. There’s another Diao Chan in it."
My goodness, Chu Hao thought. You’ve learned to use a phone in just one night?
Chu Hao had heard of King of Glory; it was said to be a clone of League of Legends.
Suddenly, Diao Chan let out an "Aiya!" and handed the phone to Chu Hao with a pitiful look. "Master, the phone has run out of data, and I still want to play."
Seeing Diao Chan’s adorable expression, Chu Hao chuckled inwardly and said, "Sure, but Baby Diao Chan, how will you repay your Master?"
Blushing, Diao Chan lowered her head and said, "Master, when Diao Chan has a real body, can I repay Master then, please?"
Chu Hao swallowed hard and asked, "How do you plan to repay me?"
Diao Chan hugged Chu Hao’s arm and said, "This servant could warm your bed. How about that?"
Without a second word, Chu Hao topped up Diao Chan’s phone with one thousand yuan.
With his phone monopolized by Diao Chan, Chu Hao thought, I can’t do without a phone; I need to buy a new one.
So, he went downstairs. Not far away was a mobile phone shop with nice decorations, and it was currently having a promotion.
Chu Hao walked in.
"Sir, we have the latest arrivals from Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi, and Meizu. Please take a look and see which one you like."
I’m a patriotic young man, after all, so I should buy a domestic brand, he thought. He settled on the Huawei HUAWEI P10 Plus, priced at five thousand five hundred eighty-eight yuan.
Just as he was about to pay, a man walked by, accompanied by a gust of cold, eerie wind. Chu Hao turned his head alertly to look. He saw a middle-aged man with a slightly chubby build, looking very tired, with dark circles under his eyes. No need to guess, Chu Hao thought. This middle-aged man has encountered something unclean.fre ewebno(v)e\l.(c)om
Chu Hao said, "Uncle, have you come across something unclean recently?"
The middle-aged man looked up, somewhat surprised, and asked, "How do you know?"
Chu Hao began his usual routine: "Daoist magic, bone reading, palmistry, character analysis, matchmaking, fortune-telling, foreseeing the future, expelling evil spirits, subduing demons. No charge if inaccurate, honest dealings for young and old alike."
"Ah! You’re a Taoist priest?" the middle-aged man asked, pleasantly surprised.
Chu Hao said scornfully, "Taoist priest? No... Everyone calls me Taoist Master. I’m much more powerful than a Taoist priest."
The middle-aged man, excited, grabbed Chu Hao’s arm and said, "Young man, you must take a look for me. I suspect my house is haunted by a ghost."
