Chapter 29: Chapter 29 Unlucky Ghost (Please bookmark!!)_1
Yasuo got first blood. Yasuo and Riven both used Ignite, but it was Chu Hao’s Yasuo who burned Zed to death first.
The young man pointed at Chu Hao, his hands shaking with anger. freew\e bnovel.com
Chu Hao smiled, driven by his instinct to show off, and said, "Bro, I don’t act unless necessary, but once I do, blood will splatter everywhere. Your Zed isn’t bad, but compared to me, one Ignite is all it takes."
"Ding... Host successfully showed off, gaining 5 Pretentiousness Points."
Well, I unknowingly showed off again.
"Don’t be so smug! I don’t believe it!"
The young man continued to play, keeping an eye on Chu Hao’s screen to ensure the top laner and jungler weren’t returning.
A little while later, Zed activated his ultimate again and appeared beside Yasuo. Just as he was about to strike Yasuo several times, a huge, icy arrow slammed onto his head, stunning him!
"You’re done for!!" The young man’s expression turned fierce.
"Damn it!! ARGH!! Cold Ice’s ultimate?" The young man crumbled.
Chu Hao chuckled. It turned out that Cold Ice, on her way back to base, had launched her ultimate. Chu Hao controlled Yasuo to unleash a flurry of blows. Zed desperately tried to flee but still couldn’t be killed. The young man breathed a sigh of relief.
They went back to the base.
He said with a smug expression, "See that? That’s Zed! I cut through armies single-handedly, omnipresent! Your Yasuo is no match."
"Oh," Chu Hao responded. He glanced at the screen and said, "Be careful."
The young man was taken aback. "What!"
"IKKOO!"
The Blind Monk was in the jungle. He threw a Q which hit Zed, who was about to recall.
Chu Hao: "..."
The young man: "..."
"AHHH!! How is that possible? How could the Blind Monk be there?"
This unfortunate kid.
Things had been going too smoothly for Chu Hao, or rather, the young man was too unlucky. Fifteen minutes had passed, and aside from his farming, he had already died seven times. Chu Hao could even solo kill him.
"Victory!"
They won.
Looking at the young man again, he looked utterly defeated, his eyes vacant and confused.
Suddenly, Chu Hao remembered a phrase: Cherish life, stay away from League of Legends.
Then, a gust of chilly wind swept past. Chu Hao abruptly looked up to see a small, dark figure of a child hugging the young man’s leg, grinning at him.
An unlucky ghost?
Chu Hao was speechless. No wonder the young man was so unlucky; he was being haunted by a ghost. Chu Hao couldn’t help but comfort him, "Bro, don’t lose heart. It’s not your fault."
The young man: "..."
Chu Hao felt sorry for him and said, "Actually, you’ve been latched onto by an unlucky ghost."
The young man glared at him, angrily retorting, "You’re the unlucky ghost! Your whole family is full of unlucky ghosts!"
Chu Hao was immediately displeased. I’m trying to help you, dude. He said, "Believe it or not, that unlucky ghost is clinging to your leg right now. Doesn’t your leg feel extremely sore?"
The young man turned his head, surprised. "How do you know that?"
"Nonsense! I already told you you’re haunted by an unlucky ghost. Do you want to resolve it or not?" Chu Hao crossed his arms and sneered.
The young man looked at Chu Hao and said, "Cut it out! Who would believe that?"
Hah! That’s exactly the kind of talk I despise.
"Grand Supreme Elderly Lord, Emergency Wish-Granting Command!"
The Soulrend Talisman flared up, leaving the young man astonished.
"Sir, playing with fire is not allowed in the internet cafe."
A waiter came over and glared at Chu Hao. But then, he saw the small child on the young man’s thigh and exclaimed in surprise, "Kid, come out! It’s not safe in there!"
The young man was startled and looked down, locking eyes with the unlucky ghost child in a wide-eyed stare-off.
"AHHH!!! A ghost!"
"Ding... Host has successfully shown off, 5 Pretentiousness Points awarded."
The unlucky ghost was about to run, but Chu Hao acted quickly, grabbing the child’s foot and lifting him up, shouting, "Thinking of running away?"
Xiao Gui struggled fiercely, his black eyes glinting ferociously as he said, "Bad man, let me go!"
Chu Hao glared at the unlucky ghost and said, "Xiao Gui, how dare you be so rude to this Taoist Master? Believe it or not, I can obliterate you right now!"
"Ding... Host has successfully shown off to a ghost, 5 Pretentiousness Points awarded."
"You... you’re a Taoist priest?" Xiao Gui was indeed frightened.
The young man was dumbstruck, hiding behind Chu Hao with a look of utter disbelief.
Surprisingly, Xiao Gui wasn’t scared. Instead, he said excitedly, "Good Taoist priest, good Taoist priest, please save my mom!"
Chu Hao was stupefied; this was the first time he’d encountered such a situation.
System alert: "A B-level hidden mission has been initiated."
Chu Hao was shocked. B-level? If C-level was twin Female Ghosts, what kind of entity would a B-level be?
Chu Hao didn’t linger. It wasn’t a good place to talk, as many people were looking at him. Some were even taking photos with their cell phones and accusing him of child abuse. He felt quite indignant. Chu Hao felt a headache coming on and quickly left the internet cafe.
The people who had taken photos with their phones couldn’t see the child in the pictures and voiced their confusion, "Huh! Where’s the kid in the photo?"
「In an alley,」
Chu Hao dropped the unlucky ghost on the ground and said, "Speak up. Why do you need my help?"
The unlucky ghost was agitated, pleading, "My mom is dying! She’s possessed by many, many ghosts! Please, good Taoist priest, save my mom!"
Possessed by many ghosts!
According to the Mao Mountain Taoist Ghost Hunting Record, this indicated a problem with the woman; the more ghosts possessing a woman, the more powerful she would become.
Since it was a hidden mission, there would be Experience Points as a reward, so Chu Hao didn’t delay. "Lead the way," he said.
"Can... can I come?" the young man asked as he emerged, looking at Chu Hao with hope.
"If you’re not afraid of dying, suit yourself," Chu Hao said, then turned and walked away.
The young man was thrilled and followed without hesitation. By now, he was completely convinced that ghosts existed and that Chu Hao was incredibly powerful. He was about to go ghost hunting! The comparison was galling; look at Chu Hao, he was even younger than him.
「Not too far away, a hospital.」
Chu Hao was taken aback; it was actually in a hospital. Hospitals were places where death occurred frequently and in various forms. If that was indeed the case here, it was worthy of being a B-level Mission.
However, at this moment, the hospital was cordoned off with police tape! There were lots and lots of police officers.
Something’s happened! Chu Hao thought with a sense of urgency and dashed over.
The young man followed right behind him. The two ran all the way to the hospital entrance, where police tape covered the perimeter, encircling the entire hospital.
"Officer, what happened inside?" Chu Hao asked.
The middle-aged policeman waved his hand. "Kid, don’t ask so many questions. Just hurry home."
Chu Hao: "..."
At that moment, the young man stepped forward. "I am Qin Zhengyu. My father is Qin Guotian, your deputy chief. What happened in there?"
The middle-aged policeman glanced at Qin Zhengyu, hesitated for a moment, and said, "I’m not sure how to explain it properly."
Qin Zhengyu said, "Go ahead. My friend and I are quite curious."
Looking around, the middle-aged policeman whispered, "Something incredibly mysterious has happened inside. Seven people have died already, each in a gruesome manner. The Homicide Squad has been called in, but two of our own officers have been killed."
Both Chu Hao and Qin Zhengyu were shocked. What was it inside that had killed nine people?
