Chapter 216: You lied

"Hmm..." Brandon stood in front of the bedroom mirror, humming a faint tune under his breath as he adjusted his t-shirt and shorts.

His hair, which was still damp from the shower, clung to his forehead in dark, messy strands.

He shook his head, ruffling his hair with both hands, sending a few stray droplets flying.

The bathroom door creaked open behind him, and Yverine stepped out with a white towel wrapped loosely around her head as she rubbed her damp hair.

Water glistened on her skin, and Brandon’s gaze flickered to her in the mirror.

Yverine caught his glance as she approached, standing beside him at the mirror.

She looked at her reflection as she continued to dry her hair, the towel muffling the soft sound of her movements.

The bruises on her shoulders and arms were still visible, but the shower had washed away the grime, leaving her skin glowing softly in the dim light of the bedroom.

Brandon smiled faintly and he leaned casually against the dresser, watching her. "Looking good, Sister Yve."

She turned to him and spoke "By the way, Brandon. I lost my storage pendant in the fight, so I have nothing to wear."

He frowned slightly "Nothing at all?" he asked, straightening up.

Then, with a quick nod, he added, "You can use some of Eira’s stuff. She’s got some things here."

He moved to a small cabinet by the bed and pulled open a drawer, rummaging through it.

After a moment, he pulled out a pair of blue panties and a matching bra, holding them up briefly before tossing them onto the bed. "These should work."

Yverine nodded with a small smile "Thanks," she said softly, stepping over to the bed.

She picked up the panties, examining them for a moment before slipping them on.

The fabric hugged her waist a bit tightly as the elastic dug slightly into her skin, but she adjusted them with a shrug.

"A bit snug, but I’ll manage."

Then she reached for the bra, holding it up to her chest.

She tried to hook it as her fingers fumbled with the clasp, but it quickly became clear it wasn’t going to fit.

The cups were too small, pressing uncomfortably against her breasts.

She sighed and her shoulders slumped as she tossed the bra back onto the bed.

"Haa... I can’t wear this. My breasts are getting flattened,"

Brandon chuckled, shaking his head with a wry smile "I told you, your breasts are bigger than hers,"

Yverine shot him a mock glare, crossing her arms over her chest, though the gesture only accentuated his point "Yeah, yeah, rub it in, pervert,"

Brandon laughed, "Alright, alright, forget it for now," he said, moving to another cabinet.

"You can wear some of my stuff. I’ll get you something proper later." He rummaged through the drawer and pulled out an oversized black t-shirt and a pair of loose gray shorts.

He tossed them onto the bed beside the discarded bra, "These should do the trick."

Yverine picked up the t-shirt and slipped the shirt over her head.

The fabric draped loosely over her body and the hem fell past her hips as the sleeves swallowed her arms.

She looked down at herself, then back at him, "I look like I’m drowning in this."

Brandon grinned, leaning back against the dresser as he watched her pull on the shorts.

They were loose on her but she tied the drawstring to keep them in place.

With a nod, he replied "You look fine."

---

The soft clink of plates echoed through the kitchen as Brandon padded down the stair, mingling with the faint hum of Elize’s voice as she worked at the sink.

Elize stood at the sink with her hands scrubbing a plate and her hair is tied loosely in a bun.

She wore a simple tank top and shorts and when she noticed him approaching, her lips curved into a gentle smile, "Kael..."

Before Elize could say more, he reached for her waist as he firmly pinned her against the wall beside the counter.

The plate slipped from her hands, landing in the sink with a soft clatter.

"Ah!" Elize gasped, startled by the sudden movement and her eyes widened as she felt the cool wall against her back.

Brandon’s hands tightened slightly on her waist.

"What happened, dear?" she asked as her hands instinctively rested on his arms.

Brandon looked into her eyes and muttered "You really don’t know what happened?"

Elize’s smile faltered, and she lowered her head, her hair falling slightly over her face.

Brandon leaned forward and buried his face into her neck "You lied to me all these years."

Her body stiffened and her boy trembled for a moment "I’m sorry..." she murmured in a low voice, laced with guilt.

Brandon let out a faint sigh, his hands still resting on her waist, "Do you know how many days I blamed myself? Because I thought I was the reason you broke your core."

Elize’s breath hitched and her eyes glistened as she kept her gaze lowered, unable to meet his.

"But now you’re saying the core was never broken in the first place?" Brandon’s voice softened, though the hurt lingered, mingling with a quiet relief.

Elize stayed silent and her lips pressed into a thin line, "Forgive me, dear..." she whispered in a trembling voice.

Brandon’s expression softened, and he pulled her closer, wrapping his arms around her in a tight embrace.

"But I’m happy..." he said and his voice was a mix of relief and sincerity.

He tightened his hug with his face still buried in her neck "I’m glad to know you still have your core. I’m really happy."

Elize’s eyes widened and her gaze quivered as she processed his words.

A tear slipped down her cheek, and she closed her eyes, her arms slowly wrapping around him in return.

"Kael..." she murmured, her hands clutching the back of his t-shirt.

He pulled back slightly, just enough to look into her blue eyes and without a word, he leaned forward, kissing her.

Elize reciprocated instantly as her hands slid up to cup his face.

"Darling..." she murmured between kisses in a breathless whisper.

Pulling back the kiss, he pecked her lips again "But I won’t forgive you, Elize. You’re gonna receive punishment for that."

Elize blinked in confusion "Punishment?"
