Chapter 1946: Sect Leader

"Hehe, surrender? Don't you think that your words are very funny?"

"I dared to come to the land of the Winam, which means I'm not afraid of your Blood Moon Sect!"

Connor replied casually.

Upon hearing his words, Dexter's expression appeared somewhat desperate.

Because he knew very well that his threats against Connor were completely ineffective.

"Sect Leader Dexter, you better tell him quickly, or else we'll all die here today!"

"Yeah, Sect Leader Dexter, it's already gotten to this point. Are you really going to watch all of us die here?"

Several elders from the sect were highly agitated as they shouted at Dexter.

He took a deep breath and whispered to Connor, "I really don't know the exact location of the Blood Moon Sect headquarters."

"You, as the sect leader of the Blood Moon Sect, don't even know where the headquarters is?" Connor couldn't help but furrow his brow.

"When the Four Great Sects of Oprana besieged our sect leader back then, he learned his lesson and became cautious. He never revealed his location, so it's normal that I don't know where the headquarters is. But..."

He paused, seeming hesitant.

"But what?" Connor asked.

"But I have a way to find the headquarters..." Dexter said in a low voice.

"What way?" he inquired.

Dexter looked at him for a moment, then took a compass-like device from his clothing and said in a low voice, "Every year, I use this compass to find the location of the headquarters during the ritual. This compass is very unique; it only shows the direction on the day the ritual begins and remains inactive otherwise."

"So you mean, as long as we wait for the day of the ritual, we can use this compass to find the exact location of the Blood Moon Sect?" After receiving the compass, Connor asked softly.

"Yes, that's right..." Dexter nodded hurriedly.

Connor hesitated for a moment, then reached out and grabbed Dexter's head.

In an instant, Dexter felt an immensely powerful force surging into his body, followed by excruciating pain tormenting him like a raging fire.

"Did you lie to me with what you said just now?" Connor asked softly, his voice directed at Dexter.

"No, everything I said was the truth. I really didn't lie to you. Please spare me..." Dexter cried out in great pain.

Connor understood that under this kind of torment, Dexter would never lie to him, so he slowly said, "Since you didn't lie to me, then prepare to die!"

"You..." Dexter suddenly raised his head to look at Connor.

The next moment, Connor was about to kill Dexter completely.

But at that moment, a dark figure rushed toward his position.

"Connor, be careful!" Rachel shouted urgently.

Upon hearing her words, he instinctively turned to look, and the dark figure slapped him in the chest. He staggered back two steps to stabilize himself.

Seeing this dark figure, Dexter was overwhelmed with excitement. He fell to the ground with a loud crash and cried out emotionally, "I pay my respects to the Sect Leader!"

"What? The Sect Leader has come?"

"The Sect Leader has come to save us!"

The other elders who had never seen the real Sect Leader before also knelt down and shouted loudly, "We pay our respects to the Sect Leader!"

"Is this person the Sect Leader of the Blood Moon Sect?" she asked, her expression puzzled.

At this moment, Connor was also observing the dark figure in front of him. He couldn't clearly see the figure's appearance, but he could sense that the figure in front of him was not just one person, because he couldn't feel any breath from the figure.

"Could this dark figure also be a remnant soul?" A bold idea flashed through Connor's mind.

Others might not be able to discern what this dark figure really was, but Connor could. After all, he had gained his current strength through the power of an old man's remnant soul.

So he believed that the dark figure in front of him was not the actual Sect Leader but a remnant soul of the Sect Leader.

...

After learning that the dark figure in front of him was just a remnant soul of the Blood Moon Sect's leader, Connor's expression visibly relaxed. He knew that the power of a remnant soul couldn't compare to the real thing, so this remnant soul wouldn't pose much of a threat.

The dark figure was also observing Connor. "Who are you, and why are you looking for me?" The figure spoke with a chilling and terrifying voice.

"I want to find someone in your possession," Connor replied calmly.

"Taran Saber, is it?" The dark figure seemed surprisingly human and even capable of thinking.

"Yes," Connor nodded.

"I advise you to leave the land of the Winam quickly, or I will make you suffer a gruesome death. I can overlook the fact that you destroyed my Yellow Springs Sect, but if you dare to harm my sect members further, I will hunt you down even if it means invading Oprana myself!" The dark figure issued a warning.

Connor couldn't help but sneer at this moment and then said indifferently, "Since I dared to come to the land of the Winam, I'm not afraid of your retaliation. You're just a remnant soul now, yet you still want to threaten me. It's laughable!"

"You can tell that I'm just a remnant soul?" The dark figure's tone sounded surprised.

"Of course, I can." Connor replied nonchalantly, then rushed towards the dark figure.

"Don't kill him!" But at that moment, a voice suddenly echoed in Connor's mind.
