Chapter 1441: Perfect Cooperation
Chapter 1441: Perfect Cooperation
About half an hour later, Connor, Dominic and Spencer finished their meal. As Dominic had to return to school for classes, they headed back to campus right away.
Considering Connor's plan to stay a few more days in Porthampton, he knew he could always catch up with them.
After they left, Connor dialed Priscilla's number on his phone.
"Hey, Priscilla, I'm done here. Should I come over to meet you?" he asked in a hushed tone.
"No need for you to come to me. I'll come pick you up!" she replied promptly.
"Alright then. I'm currently near Porthampton University!" Connor informed Priscilla of his location and hung up the call.
Around ten minutes later, she pulled up in her newly acquired white sports car in front of him. She called out, "Connor, get in!"
With a resigned expression, he opened the passenger door and got into the car.
She started the engine as soon as he was seated.
"Hey, Priscilla, where are you taking me?" Connor furrowed his brows, looking puzzled, and asked.
"You'll find out soon enough!" she replied, sidestepping his question.
"But seriously, where are we going?" He persisted, gazing at her.
"I can't tell you just yet. Don't worry, we'll get there soon enough!" She smiled.
Exasperated, Connor gave Priscilla a helpless look, realizing he probably wouldn't get any more answers.
About five minutes later, Priscilla's BMW entered the campus of the Medical School.
As Connor saw himself being led to Porthampton Medical School by Priscilla, his expression became even more perplexed. He had no clue why Priscilla had brought him here.
...
Meanwhile, inside a music room.
Maya was practicing the violin quietly on her own, but for some reason, she felt increasingly restless. After a while, she couldn't bear it any longer and decided to put down the violin and leave.
Just then, Mr. Joudan walked into the music room with a young man.
The young man was exceptionally handsome, exuding an air of uniqueness. A glance was enough to tell that he was no ordinary person.
Maya sized him up and recognized him as Chris Patell.
Chris wasn't just handsome and good-looking; he also excelled academically, always ranking at the top. He was skilled in both basketball and soccer. Furthermore, being the nephew of the Medical School's dean and the son of a well-known local businessman, his family background and personal circumstances were exceptional.
Due to his outstanding qualities, both in terms of his family background and personal attributes, Chris was highly popular within the school. Many girls admired him.
In the past, Chris had confessed his feelings to Maya, but she didn't share the same sentiment and had rejected him outright.
As for Freya, her popularity in school was beyond measure. Her striking beauty combined with the formidable influence of the Phillips family made her a magnet for secret admirers and pursuers. If the two of them were to perform together during the school celebration, it would undoubtedly become an enchanting tale.
She felt puzzled because while she knew Chris was athletically talented, she had never heard that he could play the piano.
"Mr. Joudan, is he the one you brought for me?" Maya turned to Mr. Joudan, her voice full of doubt.
"Yes, Chris just returned from the U.S. I called him over as soon as he landed. His piano skills are quite impressive. If you two collaborate, the effect will undoubtedly be remarkable..." Mr. Joudan explained with a cheerful smile.
Maya sized up Chris once more, her expression indifferent as she said, "Do you really know how to play the piano? If not, don't embarrass yourself. Do whatever suits you!"
Maya had always been straightforward in her speech and demeanor.
He didn't seem offended at all. He understood well enough that Maya's background was daunting. Even in the entire Porthampton, the last person one should provoke was someone from the Lin family.
He had his own motives for getting close to her. He was aware of the connection between Maya and Connor. If he managed to win her over, it would undoubtedly greatly assist him in the future. However, he also realized that pursuing her wasn't an easy task. She had always been doted on, and all kinds of men would fawn over her.
He had confessed his feelings to her several times before, but she had turned him down each time.
Originally, he had planned to stay carefree in the U.S. for some time. However, upon learning that she needed a partner for a collaboration, he had flown back to Oprana with the intention of seizing this opportunity.
He knew that if he managed to grasp this chance, he would likely have more opportunities to spend time alone with Maya in the future.
"Maya, Chris's piano skills are truly quite impressive. I think you two should give it a try!" Mr. Joudan suggested to Maya.
Maya hesitated for a moment, then said lightly, "Since you say so, Mr. Joudan, let's give it a try."
After uttering those words, Maya picked up her violin, while Chris took his seat at the piano.
Moments later, the melodious sound of the piano accompanied the violin, filling the room.
Maya hadn't held high hopes for this collaboration initially.
However, as time passed, her expression shifted from indifference to surprise. She hadn't expected his piano skills to be quite decent, at least far superior to the students she had encountered before.
With this realization, she started to take the collaboration more seriously.
A few minutes later, the music finally came to a gentle stop.
Mr. Joudan clapped excitedly and beamed at her, "Maya, your coordination was simply perfect!"
Upon hearing Mr. Joudan's words, a trace of astonishment flickered in Maya's eyes.
