Inside the villa.

Both Connor and Freya were emotionally involved, as if everything was proceeding according to Connor's plan.

He was finally about to fulfill his initial dream – getting Freya was something he had yearned for.

But just as he was about to unbutton, something happened that he hadn't anticipated.

"Connor..."

Suddenly, she reached out and pushed him forcefully.

"What's wrong?"

He looked puzzled, furrowing his brows as he asked her.

"I think I saw a car entering my yard just now..."

Her tone was nervous as she shouted at him.

"Someone drove into your yard?"

His expression showed a hint of resignation upon hearing this. He then said in a low voice, "Don't joke around. It's already past one in the morning. No one would come now..."

Freya subconsciously glanced toward the bedroom window, seeming to find nothing unusual, and said softly, "Then, pull the curtains shut..."

He nodded and quickly got out of bed to close the curtains.

"Ding dong... Ding dong!"

However, as he was about to get out of bed, the doorbell suddenly rang.

Upon hearing the doorbell, he froze in place. His expression was one of disbelief.

Because he never expected that at this moment, someone would actually come looking for Freya!

"Who's coming to find you at such hours?"

Connor turned his head and glanced at her, his tone filled with despair.

"I don't know either. Hurry and put on some clothes..."

"Connor, you haven't gone to bed yet?"

Connor hesitated for a moment. He didn't want Maya's appearance to ruin his plans for the night. So, he dragged her outside and asked in a low voice, "Why are you here so late?"

"What are you doing?"

She didn't directly answer his question. Instead, she responded with a smile and a question of her own.

"It's none of your business what I'm doing. Freya and I were both planning to rest. If you have any sense, go back quickly..."

Connor shouted at Maya in a hushed voice.

"Haha, I guessed right..."

Seeing him so flustered, she laughed joyfully and continued, "I had actually already arrived home today. But then, I suddenly remembered that my cousin might not be safe with you. So, I came here to protect her. Were you planning to do something bad to my cousin just now?"

"You..."

Connor was rendered speechless by her words. He suddenly realized that she had deliberately done this.

"I am Freya's fiancé. What we do has nothing to do with you."

Connor's expression turned angry as he shouted at Maya.

"You said it yourself, you're her fiancé. You two aren't married yet. Moreover, you're a womanizer who has been fooling around with other women. So, I won't let you succeed. While I'm in Porthampton, I'll be staying at my cousin's house. You won't have any chance..."

Connor looked at Maya, at a loss for words.

Connor spoke to Maya with a stern expression.

"But what does your womanizing behavior have to do with me? Have you explained things with Yelena? Have you explained things with Chloe?"

Through gritted teeth, Connor said softly.

"Connor, I advise you to be honest. This approach won't work on me. I'm not like other people. I'm not short of money, so you can't threaten me!"

After saying this, Maya directly pushed Connor away and walked into the villa.
