Chapter 1406: Cheryl Salmond

"Forgive you?"

Vanessa laughed coldly, then said with an embarrassed and resentful expression, "How can I forgive you?"

"You can do whatever you want to me as long as you forgive me!" Connor hurriedly said.

Vanessa didn't know what to do. First of all, Connor really didn't do it on purpose; he'd been worried that she was in danger, so he'd entered the lounge. Now that this matter had already happened, even if she didn't forgive Connor, what could she do?

She couldn't just kill him or dig out his eyes, right?

Moreover, Vanessa still had to meet with Connor in the future, so she had no way to not forgive Connor.

"Vanessa, how do you think this should be handled?"

Connor asked Vanessa.

Vanessa hesitated for two seconds before saying in a low voice, "I hope that a third person knows about this. I also hope that you can forget about this matter and never mention it to me again, understand?"

"Don't worry, I'll definitely forget it. I definitely won't tell anyone!"

Connor hurriedly nodded.

"The second condition is that I don't want to see you for the next week. If I see you again, I'll resign immediately!" Vanessa continued.

"Alright, alright. I won't be in Newtown this week. I promise you won't be able to see me!"

Connor nodded again.

"Alright, then you can leave now!"

Vanessa waved at Connor helplessly.

When Connor heard this, he hurriedly walked out of the office. He'd originally planned to please Vanessa today, but no one would've thought that things would turn out like this in the end. He couldn't help but feel like the entire ordeal had ruined things.

Vanessa sat alone on the sofa, her face filled with shame and anger.

She couldn't figure out what was wrong with her recently. She had never encountered such a thing before, but it had happened twice recently, and with the same person, no less.

Vanessa suddenly saw the gift in Connor's hands, and a strange look flashed in her eyes. Then she suddenly stood up, wanting to say that she had gone too far just now.

However, Connor had already left.

Vanessa felt that Connor definitely didn't do it on purpose, but her attitude towards him just now was really not good.

"Will Connor be angry because of this?"

Vanessa sighed with worry.

Vanessa might not know, but Connor definitely wouldn't be angry because of these things. After all, Connor was trying to please her, so how could he be angry?

Since he'd promised Vanessa that he would not appear in front of her for the next week, Connor planned to go to Porthampton to avoid the limelight. After all, he had not seen Freya for a long time, and there was nothing to do in Newtown, so Connor decided to wait until Vanessa forgot about this matter before coming back.

Connor asked Reena to book a plane ticket for him, then took a taxi to Newtown's airport.

It was past two in the afternoon when Connor boarded the plane and found his seat.

Since Reena was the one who booked the ticket, it was definitely a first-class seat.

There weren't many passengers in the first-class cabin, so it was very comfortable.

After Connor sat down, he decided to close his eyes and rest. After all, it would take several hours to get from Newtown to Porthampton.

However, he had just closed his eyes when he smelled a faint fragrance.

He subconsciously opened his eyes and saw a girl walking over with a bag.

The girl looked very sexy. She had short wavy blonde hair, giving her a pure and lively feeling. She was very cute and had a good figure, and her legs were slender and long.

When Connor saw this girl, his expression was a little puzzled because he felt that this girl seemed a little familiar.

Just as Connor was staring at the girl, she noticed him.

"Connor McDonald?"

The girl shouted in surprise.

"And you are?"

When Connor saw the girl call out his name, his expression was a little puzzled.

"Don't you recognize me? I'm Cheryl Salmond!" the girl shouted happily.

"Cheryl Salmond?"

Connor's eyes flashed with a trace of surprise. He finally remembered who the girl in front of him was.

This girl was Cheryl Salmond, Connor's high school classmate.

Back then, Cheryl was sitting behind Connor, so she had a good relationship with him.

However, they didn't stay classmates for too long because Connor had offended a rich heir in school, so he had no choice but to transfer schools after that.

Ever since Connor transferred schools, he had never seen Cheryl again.

"It's been a while, but you're still the same…"

Cheryl smiled at Connor and continued, "You're doing quite well now. You're actually sitting in first class…"

Cheryl's family was well-off, so it was normal for her to sit in first class. However, when she was in high school, Cheryl knew that Connor's family wasn't very rich. That was why she was so surprised to see him in first class.

"Someone bought me a plane ticket…" Connor explained with a smile.

"So that's how it is!"

Cheryl nodded and continued, "Connor, what are you doing now?"

"I'm still studying!"

Connor replied.

"Why are you still studying? I've already started working..." Cheryl said in surprise.

"After I transferred schools, I didn't go straight to the second year. Instead, I had to retake my first year, so I graduated a little later than you guys…"

"I see!" Cheryl nodded. "Are you planning to go to Porthampton?"

"Yeah, I'm heading there!"

"That's great. I'm going to Porthampton too for a class reunion. All our classmates will be there. You haven't seen them for a long time, right? Why don't you go over too?" Cheryl asked happily.

When Connor heard Cheryl's words, he couldn't help but be stunned. Then, he said, "I'm not very familiar with the students in our class, so I think I won't go. You guys can have fun!"

"Don't. It's fate that we met today. Why don't you come with me? Besides, our class has many students who are asking about your situation. You should come over!" Cheryl invited warmly.
