Chapter 157: Dry Bones.

Chapter 157: Dry Bones.

Even though it was quite hot because they were soaked in lava, the shock mitigated some of the heat from the touch, and also their resistance to heat or fire was amazing.

After so much training, things worked out perfectly, more than he had thought.

That’s why he could move freely. The problem was that these beasts were too weak.

’At this rate, I’ll never get a point.’ He sighed, but continued at the front of the group, and soon, they had passed the first hot part...

Suddenly, they were already wrapped in clothes because of the terrifying cold.

"Is it just me, or is this shit dropping the temperature more?" complained Chris.

But Elliot shook his head. "It’s not that. It’s because we were in so much heat before, the temperature changes have driven our bodies crazy."

"Hypothermia?"

"Haha, at strength level, this dungeon isn’t dangerous for now, but these temperature changes can’t be resisted by anyone with less than 45 Stat Points in their mains." He said. He looked at Rich, who was silent and trying to endure the cold.

He was the most affected, being the weakest of the group.

"Are you okay, Rich?" he asked.

Rich nodded softly, shivering. He couldn’t speak.

Elliot clicked his tongue. "It hadn’t crossed my mind that dungeons like this existed. Otherwise, I would have brought some items for that."

Thanks to his stats being near or above level 60, he wasn’t affected much by it. Jenna was fine because she covered herself with some of her magic.

But the rest were in trouble, with Andrew being the third best off.

"Let’s move on." Elliot led the way again, along with Jenna and his summons.

So, they walked slowly into the labyrinth. Going through temperature changes, trying to adjust...

But after much walking, Elliot stopped.

"We’re going around, aren’t we?" He said, seeing some strange things that seemed to float in the lava.

"Huh? Are we lost?"

"..."

What was floating on the lava was hard to recognize, as it slowly seemed to disintegrate, but he couldn’t be wrong.

They were parts of a beast, that is, of one of the beasts he killed.

"Looks like we’ll have to consider the moves." He said, sighing.

"Really?" Chris fell backwards on his ass.

Shit. It was hard enough to put up with these absurd temperature changes, and now they were telling him they were lost?

Come on...

"The moves we took were..." Elliot tried to remember. Because he was dealing with so many things at once, he had forgotten about the dangers of a labyrinth, so he hadn’t paid as much attention to it.

As he reminisced...

"It went straight... right, right..." He stopped as he was interrupted by someone else.

"Straight, right, right, right, left, left, right, and straight... The last straight I think was longer than the first." Rich said suddenly. He had been silent for a while now, so it took everyone by surprise.

Rich had memorized that? They were talking about RICH, right?

Everyone looked at him with wide eyes, and he felt uncomfortable.

"What?" he asked.

"Hahaha, not bad, Rich. Remembering that so clearly is commendable. It seems the temperature changes have made you saner than you were before."

"Hahaha, right, right..."

"Shit." Rich groaned as he heard Elliot and Chris teasing him, but said nothing more. He turned his head away.

But with what he had said, Elliot could understand why they ended up in the same place. The last straight had to have been much longer than the one in front of him, so he already knew which direction to take.

They resumed the journey through the maze and the absurd temperature changes.

In that way, more than 5 hours passed...

"Hey, what is that? Is that a desert? Did I start seeing illusions?" Rich asked, suddenly.

Chris nodded as well. "I see it too."

Elliot smiled as he noticed. "Looks like we’re already on the other side."

"Really? Shit, it’s been hours..."

Suddenly, they all started running and approached the "desert" in front of them.

Yes, it was a desert of rocks.

Upon finally arriving, the heat and terrifying cold disappeared.

"Hahahahaha, we really got out of that hell."

"Hahahahahaha..."

Rich and Chris expressed their feelings to the four winds, while Andrew was equally excited about it and finally relaxed.

Andrew looked towards Elliot and frowned. "What is it, Elliot?" he asked, seeing that he was looking up.

The same with Jenna.

That’s why he looked up and he was also stunned.

Chris and Rich noticed it late, but when they noticed it, their hearts almost skipped a beat.

"Those are..."

"Skeletons?"

"What beast could be that big?"

Elliot and Jenna looked at each other in shock.

They had even seen a Griffin, it was huge, but this...

This... It couldn’t be described in words.

Giants was an understatement.

They were bigger than all the mountains behind them combined.

And there were three of them!

"That appears to be a huge snake... No? Its skeleton is lost in my vision..." Elliot frowned, but as he looked down among the distant mountains, some words seemed to have been written in blood.

"What language is it?" Chris and Rich asked.

"...Nurotaur?" Jenna and Elliot muttered those words, which shocked those behind them.

Jenna spoke again.

"Celestial Serpent God. Ancient Rhinoceros God. Azure Dragon God... The struggle for Supremacy between the three Leaders, an event that led to extinction..." She read.

"Gods?" Even Rich’s tone of voice dropped a bunch.

Gods...

Distant concepts to anyone present.

Perhaps Andrew studied that concept best, but even he had to tilt his head a little.

He quickly warned them: "Don’t look at the bones of a god. It can dry us out."

Everyone understood what he was referring to, so they immediately lowered their heads.

The resentment of a God... may be the most dangerous thing known to man in the present age.

It may even be more dangerous than the God himself. After all, with a God, you can still reason.

Not with his resentment.

As they lowered their heads and decided to ignore those bones, a beast was lying down just below them.

It was quite large, about 3 meters tall and about 10 meters long. In front of the bones was a miniature, but it was quite a bit taller than all of them.

It was the basilisk.

It had the shape of a strange snake. Its tail was long, and its head was snake-like. Its central body was crocodile-like, but with large legs.

"Lucky it’s green..." Elliot sighed in relief.

"Haha... when I saw those bones, I thought we had entered a very high-level dungeon for a moment." Chris said.

"Right... I thought they’d put a Red basilisk on us and eat us alive. Lucky us."

You could tell it was weak as well from its own evolution. Black or red basilisks have already lost their mammal form and maintain a winged snake-like shape, but without wings. They have much more powerful scales, noticeable from afar, as they develop tough metal scales.

When they saw it, the basilisk glared back at them.

"Be careful with the look and its tail. Otherwise, we can only say..." Elliot smiled, and they all spoke in unison.

"It’s time to hunt."

With their weapons summoned and all the summons out, they rushed at the basilisk.

Four Masters and one that was almost coming, against a small D-Rank Dungeon boss...

Really, it didn’t stand a chance. Although its petrifying gaze was dangerous, it meant nothing against them, because no one looked at it head-on.

In the end, in a relatively easy battle, where even disappointed they felt, the basilisk died.

Elliot looked at his stats and nodded.

’Even though the previous beasts were very easy, thanks to "Harvester", I got quite a few points. And this thing, even though it was weak, still gave me good points.’ He thought.

He had gained 2 points in strength. 6 in endurance (obviously from having to resist those absurd temperature changes). 4 in agility and 2 in sense.

It was quite a lot because there were too many beasts in the maze, and he had to kill almost all of them. It was beautiful to see his stats go up like that.

Elliot grabbed the body and stuffed it into his inventory.

"With this, we already have the first beast." He said and looked at his companions. "Do you guys want to go get through the second dungeon right now?" he asked.

His companions looked at him with a strange expression.

They seemed to ask: Have you gone crazy?

"Hahaha..." Elliot laughed at their expressions. "All right, then. Two days off, and let’s go find the raven."

As they prepared to exit through the portal on the other side, they looked again at the maze behind.

"Don’t you guys feel like it looks like a city?" Chris asked.

Elliot nodded. "You’re right. It strangely looks like it used to be a city."

"I don’t see it like that?" Rich was confused, but Andrew and Jenna agreed with Elliot and Chris.

"The dungeons are strange."

"They have mysteries that if we were to set out to uncover them, we might find out things that could kill us." Elliot said casually.

He hadn’t expected his words to hit so hard on all of them.

Because they were true.

There are rumors... that certify it.
