Chapter 153: Great Misfit Rebellion
Chapter 153: Great Misfit Rebellion
With everything going uphill for the House of Fire, Elliot began to mobilize among the Misfits, moving to the right place, waiting for the right moment to command.
He hired a few Misfits to do specific jobs and then simply let everything move forward as if nothing had happened.
He also prepared himself in case they decided to extend the smuggling further.
And it suited him just fine.
That night, things seemed to calm down on the House of Fire side; they didn’t seem to plan to move, but Elliot still had the Misfits do some sabotage work on one side and the other.
Some areas were targeted for sabotage, such as cutting the power or outright stealing the contents.
This naturally angered the upper echelons of the House of Fire, but they were too busy looking for an alternative, as they now had a noose around their necks.
If this went wrong and they found out what they were trying to smuggle, they wouldn’t be the only ones in trouble. Even those at the top would be in serious trouble with many people.
This was why their movements were slow. They never thought that mere Misfits would cause them much trouble, so they figured there was someone important behind it all.
The question was, who?
Besides, the legal problem was also hitting them angrily.
Although many people were unaware of what was going on in the City, a tension could be sensed only by the powerful.
And so the hours passed...
In the early hours of the morning, the House of Fire made its move.
They moved a large number of Awakened Ones who surrounded the entire dock, closing it.
This closure took the Misfits by surprise, for it happened at a time they did not expect. It was then that they realized that some had betrayed them.
But with powerful Awakened Ones in the middle of the streets and moving with large groups, they could hardly do anything...
Or so everyone thought.
Even the House of Fire was ignoring it.
But while they were all trying to plan what to do or how to move, a couple were already making their moves.
Elliot and Jenna.
"They surrounded us." Jenna said, with an oddly amused smile.
"Having fun?" He asked, quite relaxed despite what they saw on the other side.
"Haha, obviously. They’ve fallen for it, haven’t they?"
"Haha." Elliot looked behind him.
There were a lot of closed boxes in this big tent.
"Good, " he smiled. "It’s time to get moving, then. They’ll come in here and start taking everything away, and it’ll be time for the Great Misfit Rebellion." He stood up and even had time to stretch his muscles.
"What did you leave the Misfits and those guys?"
"A lot of money and precious stones. There are also some items and lots and lots of sketched corpses and people."
"Hehe, you’ve left them the most troublesome stuff. Should we do something before we go?" she asked, but then she saw Elliot frown and look to the side.
"They discovered my summoning." He said and shortly after spoke again. "I found our target." He smiled sinisterly as he saw through his summoning’s eyes the guys who had delivered the message to him in Loen City.
And as soon as he noticed them, he decided to move.
They were strong, of course they were. But they were no stronger than the two of them.
"Are we going to kill them?" Jenna caught up quickly as they left the main tent through the back door. Although someone was standing guard, the two easily outwitted him.
Elliot nodded. "Yes. We’ll kill a few guys. If we manage to kill them all, that whole area will be weakened, and there’s no way they can withstand the onslaught of thousands of Misfits afterwards."
"Right."
They both looked ahead and, without batting an eye, they soon reached the vicinity. They didn’t even choose to hide, for they had already been discovered.
"Looks like what I discovered wasn’t bad." Said a young man, the one who had faced Elliot earlier, when he saw him coming. "It was strange that guy, and he didn’t even have blood on him. Only a summoner could have done that."
He drew his arm, a spear. "Little summoner, you didn’t have to die here. But besides being a summoner, you also seem to have discovered things that could compromise us." He smiled.
"Your death is more than certain now." He declared.
But Elliot shrugged.
"My death, huh? It’s obviously certain. Even the Gods have died, who am I not to?" He smiled coldly and summoned his sword...
"But you won’t be the one to send me to my death." Elliot declared.
His sword flashed over the place, causing some to cover their eyes.
The light reflected perfectly off the sharp blade of the sword and struck back into the eyes of all of them.
It was no ordinary sword.
As soon as it came out, the man with the spear flinched.
’Such a high-ranked armament?’ He was stunned, but then he felt another one appear.
At the same time, he couldn’t even react when Elliot’s sword was already flashing over his eyes.
"Your biggest mistake was killing my summoning. That little boost it gave me will make it impossible for you to see me." With that, Elliot launched the first thrust.
He wasn’t looking to kill the guy in front first; he was looking to hurt and throw him off so he could kill the rest in the same move.
His movement was too fast, and his footwork was amazing. Elliot was able to move in a way that none of the people present expected, and when mixed with his overly high-level sword, each move caused an unreal amount of blood to emerge.
The same happened with Jenna. In pure strength, she was still more powerful than Elliot, so her direct onslaught and using such a powerful sword cut off several heads.
Although the one with the spear tried to defend himself and thus avoid death, in the end, he ended up with his body impaled by two blades. His heart was destroyed, and he was without arms.
Elliot attacked him slowly, killing him little by little and causing him the greatest pain. The same was true for the people behind. But in a matter of seconds, the battle was over.
Ten people had died in a moment, and were followed by five more who tried to help.
With that, one of the barricade areas formed by Awakened was destroyed.
"It’s time to go."
"Okay. Shall we go with the Misfits?"
"We will make them attack from all sides. I have already sent them a message through my invocations. We will leave all of them here to help them. We have to avoid the gaze of those up there." Elliot said as he started to run.
Jenna followed close behind him. In a moment, they managed to get away from the place with ridiculous speed, running between houses and yards.
It was not that they were being followed, but they couldn’t detect if someone much more powerful than them was following them, so they had to be careful.
After that, they disappeared.
But the fight for the Misfits was just beginning.
"Let’s all go west, let there be an onslaught from all sides!" Roared one of the main leaders inside a house, almost collapsing because of how old it was.
Many people were gathered there, who roared in unison louder than other nearby houses.
Many Misfits hid and waited for the decisive moment in the area.
Apparently, this was it.
The Awakened Ones who were nearby were shocked to hear tremendous roars.
And soon they were able to see a sea of people...
Yes, they were weak. But it was a whole sea.
More than 5 thousand Misfits, walking together with the same goal.
It was the first time the Misfits had looked threatening to the Awakened. They had never known strength in numbers.
So, reaching the dawn hours...
The brutal onslaught on all sides of sabotage and attacks on installations left the House of Fire totally unprotected.
While all this was going on, a relatively small group of 30 people, including 25 Misfits, Erick, and 4 Elliot Invocations, managed to break through the ranks and finally enter the main warehouse, while a large group of up to 1,000 Misfits managed to enter the area where the crates were already being transported.
That group of a thousand made the biggest mistake they could have made. Stepping on the turf of the powerful.
But then the power went out all along the north, west, and south coast.
Everything went dark. The sun still did not show itself on the sea horizon; it was 1 hour before dawn.
For Erick, Elliot’s friend, this was the golden opportunity.
One of those who had managed to infiltrate the deepest area, he stole several boxes full of money.
He was alone, with one of Elliot’s invocations. He had decided to separate himself from the group because he had a plan.
Before this, he had purchased a storage device, so he didn’t have to carry anything on top of it.
He grabbed four boxes and three barrels. All of them were money and low-end items, but they would cost a lot overseas.
After that, he and the summoning got out of there.
They ran at full speed to the dock, taking advantage of the lack of light in the area, and soon arrived at the pier.
Erick was stunned by what he saw.
