People cowered. Some dropped to their knees. Some tried to get back up only to be intimidated with the gun from the SHEILD agents and his scepter.
From a nearby rooftop, Liam, Ciri, Geralt, Steve Rogers, Natasha, Tony, Triss, Yennefer, Vesemir, Keira, Eskel, Lambert, and Fenrir overlooked the grim scene. Yes, they had just teleported there.
"Man, he loves hearing himself talk," Tony muttered. His new Iron Mage armor looked better and more sleek than the last one. He had moved his workshop from here to his own basement in Oxenfurt.
Professor by day, laborer by night.
"He's not wrong, though," Yennefer said. "Fear is a strong weapon." Everyone was given a rundown of who Loki was. Thor had come and been sent back to Asgard in order to talk with his parents and see what their decision was. They had met Thor but didn't understand what he exactly represented.
Now that they had, they had more respect for Asgard as a whole and were excited to visit their place. Especially Keira.
'A place where the main palace is made of gold? Sign me up.'
"But not the only one," Liam said. He twirled his staff, magic gathering subtly around him.
"Alright, you know the plan," Steve said. His shield was already slung over his arm. "We get the civilians out first. Loki's the priority. Contain him. Don't let him run. he ran away once."
Fenrir let out a low growl, ready to pounce. Ciri tightened her grip on her sword. Actually that man people weren't required at all. But Tony had nightmares after the first fight.
With a nod, Steve led the charge. They moved swiftly and efficiently, trained soldiers and seasoned witchers working seamlessly together. Steve had played with the witchers in the SHIELD headquarters so by now they had a tacit understanding.
The witchers were very fast to appear on the square and before the SHIELD agents could even fight back, the witchers disarmed them and took them down. Thought they were outnumbered 3 to 1, it felt like even if it was 10 to 1, these agents wouldnt't still stand a chance.
Geralt, Lambert, Eskel and Vesemir barreled through the ground assault — Geralt using Aard signs to knock enemies back, Vesemir disarming them with brutal efficiency.
Ciri blinked through the square and when Loki realized that someone was moving fast and teleporting he tried to retaliate but before he could use the scepter he was kicked on the chest which made him fly out and landed on his butt, far away from the place where the citizens were held hostage.
Loki wasn't exactly hurt after he landed on the ground and slowly stood back up.
"Ahh," Loki drawled. "More champions, how delightful." He said those words because he remembered the last war he had here and faced Liam. He still had that fear against that guy and hoped to never see him but he was at his wits end.
Without warning, he swung the scepter and sent a blast of blue energy surging toward them.
Liam moved first.
The moment the energy blast screamed through the air, Liam's staff flared to life. He twirled it once and slammed it into the ground. A glowing sigil appeared midair, absorbing and nullifying the blast in an instant. The backlash ruffled everyone's clothes but caused no harm.
When Loki looked at Liam, he stiffened. He didn't expect to see this terrible guy so early. And before Loki could even use the scepter again vines burst forth from the ground and slapped his hand with a huge force that almost threw him away. At the Loki was able to stablize himself but then he lost his scepter.
He dove to take back the scepter from the vines only to be stepped on his body by Fenrir with its huge paws on the chest of Loki, pinning him to the ground. Fenrir growled at him and Loki knew that if he moved, that this wolf would tear him apart.
He could even feel the magic from the body of Fenrir, so the wolf wasn't a regular one at all. And to make it sure that Loki didn't move, Iron Mage had flown down and pointed his repulsor at Loki.
"Make your move reindeer games."
Loki had to give up. Yen and Triss were the ones who used the vines to take away the scepter and Triss had the scepter in her hands.
"This thing is trying to mess with our psyche." Triss could tell it easily and her words surprised Loki as this scepter was his trump card. Liam took out a big box and proceeded to keep the scepter inside.
First infinity stone. Down.
Another one to go.
With Loki secured and the scepter locked inside the heavily warded containment box Liam had prepared, they moved quickly. Fenrir leapt off Loki's chest with a final snarl, allowing Steve and Geralt to cuff the so-called god with special enchanted restraints that Liam and Yennefer had crafted together using dimetrium.
Loki, for all his arrogance, knew when he was beat. He offered no resistance. But when he looked at Liam, he felt like this boy had changed and the way Liam smiled at him, made him feel as if he knew what Loki's next steps were.
Within minutes, Ciri opened a portal—linked by Liam's earlier placed mark—to the Helicarrier. They stepped through, dragging Loki with them. The bustling Helicarrier command deck fell into stunned silence when the team returned. Agents stared openly at the battered god. Most of the agents were angry because this man had taken away people from their own workplace.
The last time it was a war and now kidnapping? What the hell.
"Good work," Fury said gruffly. "Cage him."
Two specialized SHIELD operatives moved in with a reinforced glass cell—a mobile prison designed for threats like the Hulk. Loki was shoved inside unceremoniously, the locks clamping down with a loud hiss and hum of magic nullification fields activating. Yes, Yeneffer was better at this and had helped SHIELD in many modifications in case they ever had a magical prisoner.
Like Liam has Eredin.
