Chapter 540: 302 Different
"It stinks!"
Fang Zhixing frowned slightly, the odor in the room pungent as if one had worn socks for a month without washing them.
In the midst of the billowing black smoke, an Armored Warrior knelt on the ground, head hung low, tightly hugging a Knight’s Sword, as if in prayer.
Fang Zhixing’s eyes flashed as he stepped through the doorway.
Almost the next instant, the Armored Warrior abruptly turned his head, his Helmet concealing his face, only his eyes visible, enshrouded with swirling black smoke, staring fixedly at Fang Zhixing.
"Chirp~"
The silver Armor followed through the door, shouting something loudly at the Armored Warrior.
The Armored Warrior made no response but suddenly raised the Knight’s Sword, delivering a forceful chop and cut.
A vast amount of black smoke wrapped around the blade’s edge, bursting forth with unimaginable power.
"Ah!~"
The silver Armor stiffened, let out a piercing scream, and collapsed to the ground.
Fang Zhixing’s figure shimmered, and he suddenly moved behind the Armored Warrior, kicking out at the back of his knees.
Thud!
The Armored Warrior pitched forward, his legs’ bones fractured.
Fang Zhixing flicked his fingers, flinging off his Helmet.
Suddenly, a long-haired man was revealed before him.
The man’s features were so twisted that his face was unrecognizable.
What was eerie was the thick black smoke that continuously poured out of his mouth, nostrils, and eye sockets.
The encircling black smoke looked almost like flames.
"Damn, what is that thing, maggots?"
Xigou exclaimed in shock.
Fang Zhixing scanned the surroundings and asked, "What maggots? Where?"
Xigou paused, then said in astonishment, "Can’t you see them? Right there in that Armored Warrior’s mouth, in his eyes! Loads of maggots crawling in and out!"
"What maggots, it’s clearly black smoke..."
Fang Zhixing immediately turned his head to look at the Armored Warrior intently.
Yet, he still only saw black smoke.
Xigou, very certain, cried out, "I see maggots, swarming with them."
"..."
Fang Zhixing fell silent for a moment before releasing his Divine Soul Perception.
In an instant, the scene before his eyes changed dramatically!
The black smoke on the Armored Knight’s face strangely turned into writhing Black Demon Snakes.
Fang Zhixing’s breathing suddenly stopped.
He couldn’t help but recall the first time he and Xigou had gone hunting in the forest after crossing over, discovering a large frog.
At that time, Xigou saw a ball of fire above the frog’s head, but Fang Zhixing only saw a red horn on the top of the frog’s head.
It was the first time they realized that humans and dogs perceive differently.
At this moment, Fang Zhixing said breathlessly, "Whose perception is the real one?"
Xigou, tongue-tied with wonder, clicked his tongue and said, "Could it be we’re both hexed, both suffering illusions at the same time?"
As they shared these thoughts, the kneeling Armored Warrior once again raised his head, lifting the Knight’s Sword for another strike.
Upon seeing this, Fang Zhixing unleashed a palm strike, landing squarely on the warrior’s back.
Bang!
The overpowering Black Demon Palm shocked the Armored Warrior’s body, and he exploded into a mist of blood.
Upon witnessing this scene!
"Aah!"
The silver Armor yelled out in anguish, heart-wrenchingly distressed.
Fang Zhixing gave a cold look, raising an eyebrow.
Black smoke was emerging from the silver Armor too, Black Demon Snakes crawling out of his ears and wrapping around his head.
"Kill!"
Without any hesitation, Fang Zhixing struck fiercely, killing the silver Armor with a slap.
"Absorb!"
Regardless of what the black smoke was, Fang Zhixing willed it all to be consumed directly by the system.
In the blink of an eye, the vague blood mist and black smoke dissipated into ashes.
The room quieted down.
Fang Zhixing felt a strange mix of shock and suspicion, "What on earth is going on with this Fifth Level Restricted Area?"
Xigou sniffed and reminded, "The strongest Evil Odor seems to be on the third floor."
Fang Zhixing nodded, then turned and walked out of the room, glancing to the side.
Suddenly, he saw a little girl in a printed dress darting past the corner.
He didn’t see her face, only her bare feet, and it seemed like she was holding a stuffed doll in her arms.
Fang Zhixing chased after her, and as he passed a room, a beam of light shot out from his Ring.
[Enter the room, rescue your companion.]
"Companion?"
Fang Zhixing narrowed his eyes slightly and immediately released his Divine Soul, closely perceiving the room.
However, the room was chaotic, like the murky bottom of a dark river, imperceptible.
Fang Zhixing frowned and kicked at the door.
Bang!
The door shattered instantly.
As expected, inside there was nothing but darkness and foulness, the Evil Odor spreading everywhere.
Fang Zhixing swept his sleeve, dispersing the black smoke.
At a glance, the inside of the room was in disarray, utterly disastrous; the broken furniture lay on the floor, pieces strewn about.
Fang Zhixing turned his head and his pupils involuntarily constricted.
On the wall hung a person.
A woman in a short athletic outfit!
In the woman’s belly was thrust a Knight’s Sword, pinning her immovably to the wall.
The Knight’s Sword was shrouded with murky energy, like a Demon Sword exuding an extremely foul essence.
However, in Fang Zhixing’s Divine Soul Perception, the Knight’s Sword was crawling with snakes.
The snakes were slithering over the woman’s body in a disturbing manner.
Some even burrowed into the woman’s mouth, into her secret garden, moving in and out at will.
"Damn!"
Xigou burst into the room as well, immediately taken aback and exclaimed, "This woman is in such a bad state, overrun by maggots."
Fang Zhixing noticed that the woman’s fingers twitched occasionally; she seemed not completely dead yet.
He stepped forward and struck down the Knight’s Sword.
The woman fell, tumbling twice.
