Chapter 54: Chapter 54: Going Home

The window wasn’t fully closed, a gap was left at the top.

After buying three skewers, Su Xingwan became interested in other flavors of tanghulu, so she bought a few different ones.

Xu Xiao, seeing Young Master Ye playing happily with the three kids from inside the car, felt a bit envious.

"Mr. Lu, aren’t you going down to join the kids?"

Lu Yun remained silent, raising his hand to close the window gap.

Holding the strawberry tanghulu, Su Xingwan was about to leave after paying when she heard the faint sound of a window closing behind her.

She instinctively turned her head to look.

A black car was parked in front of her.

Su Xingwan found the car somewhat familiar, as though she had seen it before, and curiously moved closer, but it was pitch dark inside and nothing could be seen.

People outside couldn’t see inside, but those inside could clearly see outside.

Sitting inside the car, Lu Yun saw a gentle and fair face pressed against the window, with only a thin pane of glass between them, as if they could even hear each other’s breathing.

Su Xingwan looked around curiously.

Suddenly, her cool eyes met his, and Lu Yun was startled.

Then she said, "There shouldn’t be anyone inside, right?"

Su Xingwan withdrew her gaze and was about to leave when she heard the two little ones calling her from behind.

"Auntie!"

She turned around to see two wobbly cars already arriving in front of her.

Ye Yixing was riding with the two little ones, feeling a bit cramped.

Tang Muya sat quietly with Little Su Yan.

Su Xingwan was somewhat surprised to see an adult and a child riding a wobbly car.

Tang Muya smiled a bit embarrassed when she saw Su Xingwan.

"Riding the little kids’ car isn’t bad, do you want to try it?"

"Sure!" Su Xingwan replied with a smile.

Ye Yixing said, "I’ll get you another car!"

He was driving while looking up at the black car.

Feeling so excited.

Cousin! Did you see it? Did you see how much fun I’m having with the nephews?

Aren’t you envious? Jealous!!

Both Su Xingwan and Tang Muya felt that Ye Yixing was unusually happy tonight, more excited than the kids.

Sitting in the car, Lu Yun looked at Ye Yixing with an expression begging to be punched.

Hmm, I really want to go down and give him a good beating.

As the additional wobbly car was brought over by Ye Yixing, the two little ones eagerly said, "I want to sit with Auntie!"

"I want to sit with Auntie too!"

Ye Yixing, who had hardly been happy for a few seconds, heard both kids wanting to run to their aunt and instantly looked dismayed.

It was him who played with them, and he spent all his money, but they all flocked to their aunt.

Su Xingwan didn’t know whom to choose, so she said, "Auntie will sit with Yanbao, and one of you can sit with Aunt Tang, so your Uncle Ye won’t be squeezed."

Little Su Yan was a bit surprised that his naughty aunt would choose him.

While the two little ones pouted unhappily when Auntie didn’t choose them.

Su Xingwan acted as if she didn’t see it, pulling Little Su Yan into the wobbly car she was driving.

The next round of the wobbly car ride was about to start, and the two little ones quickly became happy again.

Little Su Luo sat in front of Uncle Ye, like a little general, leading the way with commands: "We set off!"

The next second, his wobbly car led the way forward, followed by Little Su Hua’s wobbly car, and finally Little Su Yan’s wobbly car.

Soon after, a string of cheerful, bell-like laughter rang out in the square, with smiles of happiness on the faces of both adults and children.

Lu Yun sat in the car, watching this scene, seeing Su Xingwan holding Little Su Yan with one arm, carefully tidying his hat and scarf on the cotton-padded coat from time to time.

The pink scarf around her neck fluttered in the cold wind, and her face beamed with a childlike, pure smile—warm and bright.

"Auntie! Look, fireworks!"

Little Su Luo pointed to the colorful fireworks blooming in the night sky.

"Such beautiful fireworks!" Little Su Hua looked up, staring intently.

Tang Muya smiled, "Did you have fun today?"

"Yes, today was the happiest day for me!" Little Su Hua said, dancing with joy.

Su Xingwan looked down at Little Su Yan, lifted her hand to rub his head, and asked, "Yanbao, did you have fun today?"

Little Su Yan looked down and didn’t speak.

Su Xingwan didn’t insist on an answer, knowing that Little Su Yan, as the eldest among the three children, endured the most pain.

But it’s okay, in the days to come, before their little uncle appeared, she would raise them to be cheerful, confident, and optimistic children.

Then she heard Little Su Yan say awkwardly, "...Had fun."

Though his voice was as faint as a mosquito’s, Su Xingwan heard it.

She smiled and took out the three tanghulus she bought earlier, removed one strawberry tanghulu: "Here, Yanbao, have some ice tanghulu."

Little Su Yan had never eaten ice tanghulu before and stared at the reddish stick in her hand, momentarily dazed.

"Auntie! I want some too!" the two little ones shouted.

Su Xingwan smiled, "Don’t worry, everyone will get one."

She divided the strawberry-flavored tanghulus she had specially bought for the three little ones and then looked at Tang Muya: "What flavor do you want? I have them all here."

"Apple, please."

For Tang Muya, who hadn’t eaten ice tanghulu for a long time, she only had a memory of eating apple flavor once as a child—it was very sweet.

Su Xingwan handed Tang Muya the apple tanghulu, then looked at Ye Yixing who was leaning over, and said, "Young Master Ye, would you like one too?"

"Sure."

Ye Yixing had never eaten this before and casually picked a small yellow fruit tanghulu.

He stared at the kumquat-flavored tanghulu and pondered, "This thing looks quite nice."

They didn’t know how long they played. They continued riding the wobbly cars round after round until everyone was a little tired, then they ended the ride.

The three little ones climbing down from the wobbly car still seemed to want more.

"Auntie, are we going back?"

Su Xingwan patted them: "Yes, we should go home now."

"Is Uncle Ye leaving too?"

The two little ones who played with him all evening had grown fond of this Uncle Ye.

Seeing the two little ones reluctant to leave him, Ye Yixing felt like the time he spent playing with them tonight was worth it.

It wasn’t until he walked up to the black car that Su Xingwan realized that it was the car he was in, which is why it looked familiar.

"Goodbye, Uncle Ye!" the two little ones quickly waved when they saw Uncle Ye getting in the car.

"Goodbye!" Ye Yixing rolled down the window on his side, and the two little ones immediately crowded over. Since they were too short to reach, they quickly turned to ask Auntie to lift them.

"Alright, alright, Auntie will hold you!"

Previously, they weren’t very reluctant to part with Uncle Ye, but now that he was leaving, they became reluctant.

The two little ones, boosted by Su Xingwan and Tang Muya together, both leaned over the window, looking into the pitch-black interior.

"Why can’t we see anything?"
