As the situation seemed about to spiral out of control, Qiao Yi resisted calling Ning Yuze.

"What kind of mess have you created! Who is this person with Lin Xiaoming right now? His girlfriend is here now, tell me, what are we supposed to do about this!"

Upon connecting, Qiao Yi roared into the phone.

Ning Yuze on the other end was probably scolded into a stupor by Qiao Yi and it took him a while to respond dazedly with an "ah."

"Ah what? I’m talking to you, are you even listening?!"

"Ms. Qiao, there must be some mistake? I didn’t introduce anyone else to Lin Xiaoming!"

What’s going on? This person wasn’t arranged by Ning Yuze? Then how did Lin Xiaoming get involved with this man?

Surprised, Qiao Yi hung up and after exchanging a glance with Lu Yanchuan, she took out her phone and snapped a photo of Meng Ruijia, then sent it to Ning Yuze.

"Do you know this person? Today, I encountered Lin Xiaoming dining with this man. Is he someone you arranged to approach her?"

Ning Yuze quickly replied.

"This man is a friend of mine, but we just hang out occasionally. I had no idea Lin Xiaoming got involved with him!"

Ning Yuze, afraid that Qiao Yi would misunderstand, repeated the same explanation several times.

"Alright, alright, if he’s not someone you arranged, then Lin Xiaoming must have caught herself a big fish on her own. After this affair is settled, let your friends know, so nothing like this happens again!"

While Qiao Yi was talking to Ning Yuze, the arguing on the other side had escalated to a fever pitch.

"Tell Song Yiyue that even if I never marry, I absolutely won’t be with her!"

After the tirade, Qiao Qiao pulled Lin Xiao and turned to leave.

"Qiao Qiao, you think you can disrespect me like this?"

A hard leather folder was slammed onto Qiao Qiao’s back, the loud noise startling Lin Xiao into screaming.

Being hit with a leather folder is definitely not pleasant, but Qiao Qiao stood stoically without making a sound.

Qiao Yi was almost amused by her anger. She stood up from behind her desk and walked step by step until she was just two paces away from Qiao Qiao and Lin Xiao before stopping.

"Qiao Qiao, tell me, who gave you the courage to question me like this? Hmm? Was it her?"

Fear was evident in Lin Xiao’s eyes; she had never seen Qiao Yi like this before!
