Chapter 250: Chapter 250 Amnesia

Before long, Shaolin entered the room, followed by a girl.

The girl kept her head low, seeming timid.

"Ye Han, Nan Qiao, you’re too polite. You invite me, and I’ll pick up the tab," Shaolin said cheerfully as he walked in.

The girl behind him followed suit.

Shaolin introduced, "This is Yun Xia, my... girlfriend."

Yun Xia’s delicate body trembled, and she lifted her head in disbelief to look at Shaolin.

Girlfriend?

How could he say that?

Didn’t he like Li Xia?

Yun Xia stared blankly at Shaolin, "You said, I’m your girlfriend?"

Yun Xia’s voice made Nan Qiao’s eyes widen; she quickly moved to her side and gently took her hand, "Si Yu, Si Yu, is that you? Huo Siyu, I’m Nan Qiao!"

Yun Xia looked up, her eyes full of confusion, "Who are you?"

Shaolin was also stunned. Si Yu? Was Yun Xia Huo Siyu?

What a coincidence?

Ye Han was also shocked; no wonder Nan Qiao said she found this girl somewhat familiar.

Wouldn’t she be familiar, she was Qiaoqiao’s good friend!

Huo Siyu looked at Nan Qiao, frightened, released Nan Qiao’s hand, and ran to Shaolin’s side, looking at Nan Qiao timorously.

"Si Yu, you don’t remember me?" Nan Qiao asked in astonishment.

Shaolin explained, "She has amnesia and can’t remember anything from before."

Nan Qiao, moved emotionally, asked, "Where did you find Si Yu?"

"I found her at sea with a gunshot wound. I was worried she was an assassin being hunted and thus didn’t report the matter to the police. I never imagined you would know each other."

Ye Han explained, "Huo Siyu is Qiaoqiao’s good friend; Qiaoqiao has been searching for her without any result."

Shaolin bowed his head, looked at the girl beside him, and softly asked, "Do you remember her? Have any recollections?"

Huo Siyu shook her head, visibly panicked, "I don’t know her."

Nan Qiao, increasingly desperate, said, "Si Yu, come with me; I am sure I can help you regain your memory."

As Nan Qiao reached out her hand, Huo Siyu recoiled in fear.

Seeing this, Shaolin said in a low voice, "She’s very scared, just wait a while. I’ll talk to her and calm her emotions."

Ye Han took Nan Qiao’s hand, "Qiaoqiao, maybe we should step outside and let Shaolin talk to her?"

Nan Qiao, still agitated, eventually agreed to leave first and let Shaolin talk to Huo Siyu.

...

Nan Qiao and Ye Han sat on the bench in the resting area, and Ye Han offered her a cup of warm water.

"Have a drink first, and calm down."

Nan Qiao took it, her mind racing with thoughts.

"Shaolin fancies Li Xia and he gives Si Yu a name, Yun Xia; is he a pervert? What is he trying to do here with some stand-in literature, has he no shame at all!"

Ye Han didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, took Nan Qiao’s hand, and gently soothed, "Qiaoqiao, don’t get angry just yet. I’ll ask Shaolin in a minute."

"No need to ask, I can see what he’s up to. Yun Xia, Li Xia, you can tell what he means just from the names. Si Yu is dependent on him, even holding onto his arm."

The more Nan Qiao thought about it, the angrier she became; how could Huo Siyu fall for a scum like Shaolin, she felt indignant on her behalf.

Ye Han shared the same thoughts as Nan Qiao; if it was indeed true, Shaolin definitely deserved a thrashing.

...

In the room, Shaolin and Huo Siyu were also discussing the matter.

Shaolin, too, wore a helpless expression and said, "I didn’t expect that you would be Nan Qiao’s friend. Xiaxia, you..."

"Stop calling me by that name, I don’t like it," Huo Siyu frowned.

Even though she had no memories, she genuinely disliked the name.

After finding out that there was another Li Xia around Shaolin, she loathed it even more.

Looking at her displeased expression, Shaolin asked, "Si Yu, do you want to go back? Do you want to leave with Nan Qiao?"

Huo Siyu was also in turmoil, not knowing which way to turn.

Just then, Nan Qiao entered the room.

"Si Yu, come with me. I’ll take you to the hospital for a thorough examination to help you regain your memory."

Huo Siyu looked at Nan Qiao, then at Mo Shaolin by her side.

In the end, she decided to join Nan Qiao: "Can I really recover my memory?"

"Absolutely!" Nan Qiao asserted with unwavering certainty.

Huo Siyu glanced over and suddenly smiled, a smile that sent shivers down Mo Shaolin’s spine as he sensed that Huo Siyu might leave him.

"Okay, I’ll go with you to the hospital."

It was as if Huo Siyu had made up her mind resolutely, leaving Mo Shaolin without looking back and walking to Nan Qiao’s side.

"I’ll take you to see Zheng Qinnian; we’ll go right now."

Nan Qiao held Huo Siyu’s hand and they walked out together.

After a few steps, she looked back and said, "Li Yehan, you don’t need to come with me."

As Nan Qiao led Huo Siyu away, Li Yehan stopped in his tracks, staring at Mo Shaolin with an incredulous look.

"Mo Shaolin, you’d better pray you’ve treated Huo Siyu well, otherwise, just wait and see."

Mo Shaolin: "..."

Why did he have a bad feeling about this?

Li Yehan then asked: "I heard you like Jiang Ningzhu?"

Mo Shaolin: "..."

Who told Li Yehan?

Li Yehan continued: "Your taste is really questionable, Mo Shaolin. I didn’t expect you to lack such discernment. You really have no idea who Jiang Ningzhu is."

Li Yehan stood up, his tone cold, "Mo Shaolin, out of all the people to like, you had to fancy someone like her! And you treat Huo Siyu as a replacement. Mo Shaolin, you’re on your own."

Li Yehan had only one thought regarding Mo Shaolin’s fondness for Jiang Ningzhu.

Mo Shaolin would eat anything.

"I didn’t expect her to be Nan Qiao’s friend," Mo Shaolin said, sitting in the chair and reaching into his pocket for a cigarette.

But after a long search, he found nothing.

"Quit smoking?" Li Yehan inquired.

Mo Shaolin’s face displayed an embarrassed expression. It wasn’t that he had quit smoking; it was because Huo Siyu disliked the smell of smoke, so he hadn’t smoked in a long time.

Mo Shaolin didn’t understand what had gotten into him, that he had gone so long without a cigarette for a woman.

Mo Shaolin found a lighter in the private room and lit a cigarette.

He took a fierce drag and coughed violently.

Li Yehan: "..."

"And you say you haven’t quit smoking." Li Yehan sat aside, not smoking.

Mo Shaolin frowned deeply as he continued to cough.

Li Yehan took the cigarette, pressed it into the ashtray until it was completely extinguished.

"What, you don’t like Jiang Ningzhu, but now you like Huo Siyu?"

Mo Shaolin: "..."

"Li Yehan, do you get a kick out of poking wherever it hurts me, is that what friends do?"

Li Yehan gave a mocking smile: "It seems the real pain is yet to come, Mo Shaolin. Good luck to you."

Li Yehan got up and started to leave.

Mo Shaolin: "Where are you going?"

"Of course, to find Qiaoqiao," Li Yehan answered crisply.

Mo Shaolin: "Didn’t she tell you not to go?"

"Mo Shaolin, you still don’t understand women. Just because she told me not to go, does that mean I can’t? Maybe Qiaoqiao is hoping that I’ll go to her now."

Li Yehan left, and shortly after, Mo Shaolin followed him out.
