Chapter 1350: Chapter 1350

By now, the sky had brightened considerably, the clouds and mists in the mountains spread gracefully, and the scenery of the villa gradually became clear before their eyes.

Jane and the little boy walked slowly along the veranda.

The veranda was long, and occasionally they encountered other members of the Rivera Family, who would smile and nod in greeting.

They seemed to always bear a gentle smile.

She suddenly thought of the Rivera Family’s motto, truly very Zen...

So, Allen’s emotional restraint isn’t inherent but acquired over time? After all, having been instilled from a young age with the idea of not getting angry and managing emotions, it’s no wonder he’s so rational and calm.

"Janie."

Suddenly hearing Allen call her name, Jane paused slightly and looked up.

Allen was walking towards her from the fork in the road ahead.

He wasn’t wearing a coat, on a winter morning, only dressed in a light gray wool sweater as if unaware of the cold, walking under the ancient-style long corridor, with broad shoulders and long legs, exuding a cool elegance.

Seeing him made Jane happy, and she stepped briskly towards him.

Getting closer, she realized his forehead’s hair was wet, and there was a faint sheen of sweat on his face.

Jane paused momentarily and asked, "Were you looking for me?"

"Mm." Allen’s expression was calm, showing no anxiety, as he walked over to hold her hand and asked, "Why didn’t you bring your phone?"

"Originally, I just planned to take a casual stroll and head back, but then I thought I’d try to find out which room you’re staying in and unwittingly walked far..." Jane explained softly, scrutinizing his expression, "Have you been looking for me long?"

Allen didn’t answer, his gaze fell on the little boy, and he asked, "Where are you both planning to go?"

"I’m taking Auntie to see the tree." The little boy emphasized, "To see my osmanthus tree."

Allen said, "Gilbert, it’s almost time for breakfast, let’s head back and change clothes, then we can go see the tree after breakfast."

The little boy was still wearing the clothes for practicing Tai Chi.

"But I’ve already promised Auntie." He was unwilling.

Allen thought for a moment, squatted down, and asked him, "Gilbert, has your osmanthus tree bloomed?"

Gilbert furrowed his brow and shook his head, "It hasn’t bloomed."

"Are the leaves withered?"

"Withered."

"Does the osmanthus tree look good now?"

"...Not good."

Allen said, "Wait until the osmanthus tree becomes pretty, then let Auntie go see it, alright?"

Gilbert tightly pressed his lips, looking aggrievedly at Allen.

Jane felt a bit guilty, wanting to say something, but Gilbert suddenly turned and ran away.

"Ah..." Jane was surprised and then looked at Allen, "Should we call him back?"

"Not angry." Allen watched the small figure running far away, a faint smile on his lips.

He raised his hand to pull Jane into his embrace and lightly laughed, "Don’t worry, when I was a child, I was the same way, he probably doesn’t want others to see him angry, so he’s running to a place where he can be angry."

"Is it really okay..." Jane was being held by Allen as they walked forward, unable to resist turning her head to look in the direction the little boy had run, feeling it was slightly cruel.

But Allen automatically skipped this topic, asking her while walking: "Where did you wander to just now?"

"Oh, I went to the stone platform above, met grandfather and grandmother practicing Tai Chi, they are in such good health." Jane said slowly, remembering what the elderly said, couldn’t help but look at Allen a few more times.

Really bad temper? Awful character? ...I don’t think so, I just like him more the more I look.

Jane secretly laughed in her heart.

"What’s up?" Allen asked with a smile, "Grandfather and grandmother said bad things about me again?"

Jane couldn’t help curling up the corners of her lips, gently swaying the hands joined together, "I wouldn’t call it bad things... just that they’re quite worried about you, afraid you might get dumped by your girlfriend again."

"Old folks are like that, love to reminisce about a few embarrassing things from their grandchildren’s childhood, even sharing the incidents of wetting pants like it was some glorious achievement..."

Allen smiled helplessly, "But they misunderstood, those girls came and went on their own, I never cared, but you’re different, you’re the one I pursued."

He suddenly stopped walking.

Jane turned back, seeing him standing a few steps away, half-smiling as he looked at her, "Janie, you count as my first love."
