Chen Afu was already displeased with Mrs. Wang and the old lady, so when he saw Mrs. Hu kicking Qi Qi, he immediately frowned. With a stern look, he said, "Aunt, how can you kick our family member, Qi Qi, like this? If you broke Qi Qi, what would we do? Moreover, the words you cited aren’t taught by me, but are often spoken by my own uncle, your husband. He frequently criticizes you out of worries that your excessive greed may lose us our relatives."

He was speaking the truth and being blunt about it was intended to remind the old lady not to really drive away their relatives.

Mrs. Wang also added, with a displeased tone, "Yeah, when we were in the countryside, my husband used to criticize her in the same way."

Chen Aman wore a smirk and chimed in, "I’ve heard my uncle say the same thing too."

As Mrs. Hu attempted to refute, she was met with a stern look from the old lady, promptly shutting her mouth.

The old lady felt both embarrassed and angry but had to suppress her temper. She didn’t want to offend Chen Afu, Mrs. Wang, and Chen Aman, who’s about to marry a rich man. As an elder, she didn’t care about upsetting them in general. She fears none of them except for Chen Afu. But at her age, she might die at any moment and if she upset everyone, her eldest son would truly suffer.

Reflecting on her recent actions, she did realize she was a bit too anxious. She smiled at Chen Afu and said, "Your aunt could be muddled, but your uncle and I are not. We fully recognize how much your second and third brothers have contributed to the family, and we remember it in our hearts."

After a bit more conversation, the old lady and her companions left.

Mrs. Wang told Chen Afu that she, Chen Ming, the old lady, and Dabao would all be returning to the countryside soon. They would not come back to the capital until just before Chen Aman’s wedding next month.

The house Dabao just bought has been fully furnished and seeing that Chen Ming and his wife are staying at Chen Shi’s house, they didn’t want to move either. So, Chen Ming and Mrs. Wang felt awkward staying longer. They asked the servants to help furnish the newly bought house and purchase additional houseware. The next time they come to the capital, they would move directly into the new house.

Chen Aman was to get married in a month, and her family was currently busy preparing her dowry.

Chen Afu said, "I have spare rooms here. You can come and stay with me."

However, Mrs. Wang shook her head and said, "Your father still wants to check on the farm work at home. We don’t have someone like Agui looking after us like Dabao does."

Chen Afu suggested again, "After you two head back to the countryside, let Alu stay with me. The third family must be busy, it’s not good for us to keep bothering them."

Mrs. Wang agreed. Now that her daughter had given birth to two sons for the Chu family, she felt considerably confident. She said, "I bought a servant boy for Alu, he can bring the boy along to live here."

Chen Afu nodded.

At noon, Alu arrived at the main court, bringing Dabao and Chu Lingzhi with him.

After they had their meal, Chen Afu took Alu aside for a chat, telling him that he should move back into the Senator’s Mansion and stop bothering the third family.

Alu nodded. He understood that the third family would be busy with Chen Aman’s wedding by next month.

During the few weeks he stayed at the third family’s place, Chen Afu had taught him a lot about interpersonal skills. At times when she was busy, she would send Manager Luo to teach him about the rules of the mansion.

Meanwhile, Alu had made friends with kids from affluent families, including Chen Yulan and Qin Mu. They often played together during breaks, which broadened Alu’s horizons greatly.

Jin Yanzi had been feeling all pent up these days. Bored, he would constantly complain about Chen Afu not bringing his little brothers to play in the spatial storage. Chen Afu couldn’t resist laughing. In this world, who is smaller, cuter, and more well-behaved than it?

Jin Yanzi flapped its wings and gently touched them. It then asked, "Mommy, why are they sleeping so tightly? I want to play with them." While saying this, it started to tickle Yu’s throat with its wingtips.

Chu Siyu was abruptly woken up and opened his mouth to cry. However, he quickly stopped crying and followed Jin Yanzi’s movements with his eyes, babbling away and cooing.

Chen Afu figured he probably can’t see it and was instead attracted by its scent.

Jin Yanzi was even more excited as he claimed, "Oh my! Brother is looking at me!"

Feeling like it should now entertain the other brother, it flew over to Ming and started poking Chu Siming’s armpit with its wings.

Chu Siming was also woken up by it. He too opened his mouth to cry, but was quickly captivated by Jin Yanzi and began to follow its movements with his eyes.

Jin Yanzi was having a blast playing with Chu Siyu and Chu Siming. After flying for some time, it started to tickle their faces with its wings, fling their ears, poke their noses, and scratch their feet.

That was true. Chen Afu knew that Jin Yanzi was sensible. Even so, she reminded it, "You shouldn’t only avoid using your beak when playing with them, but also keep away from their eyes."

"Alright, mommy, I understand. I used to play with my previous master’s children, so I know how to play with babies." Jin Yanzi replied without hesitation.

Suddenly, Chen Afu heard some noise from the tree and said, "Baby, is Beibei getting anxious?"

Caught up in the fun, Jin Yanzi merely said, "Mommy, go and bring down Beibei."
