Once everyone was seated, Chen Shiying noticed only Mrs. Jiang entered and inquired, "Where is Hui’er? Let her come quickly. My son-in-law and Fu’er are eager to eat and continue their journey."

Mrs. Jiang laughed and said, "A moment ago, a servant came to say granny wanted to see Yuhui, so I let her go. Let’s eat first."

Chen Shiying nodded upon hearing the news, picked up his chopsticks, and signaled, "Let’s eat."

Chen Shiying and Chu Lingxuan had a bit of wine. Chu Lingxuan didn’t drink much since he needed to ride a horse afterward.

After the meal, Chen Afu and Chu Lingxuan said their goodbyes and headed directly towards the city gate.

Chen Afu and Chu Lingxuan arrived outside the city where Li Xuan and Wang Cheng’s family were already waiting.

Chen Afu had Mrs. Wei holding Li Xuan toward her carriage. The little one had already fallen asleep in Mrs. Wei’s arms. Jin Yanzi, who has always been attached to Li Xuan’s clothes, saw Chen Afu arrive and chirped, "I’m going into the woods to admire the vast sky and earth. I’ll come back later to see stinky Dabao and little Yanyan."

As dusk approached, a caravan of carriages finally arrived on the small road of Shangshui Village. The people in the carriages opened their curtains to look at the three courtyards in the distance—one large and two small.

Wang Cheng heard Luo Yuan outside the carriage mentioning the northernmost small courtyard being Lu Garden and how his sister and her family lived there. He couldn’t help but burst into tears. His crying was so loud that even Chen Afu, who was in the front carriage, could hear it and felt tears well up in her eyes.

At that moment, two parrots, one big and one small, flew from the sky. They circled above the carriages then dove into Chen Afu’s carriage. They climbed onto Chen Afu’s leg and began to cry. One had Dabao’s voice, and the other had the voice of Miss Chu. Most notably, both their voices were hoarse.

"Woo... woo... Auntie... Dad..."

"Ah... ah... ah... Mom... Mom..."

Hearing these two cries, Chen Afu’s tears fell. She wondered how much the two children had cried while she was away.

She hugged them both, comforting them, "It’s okay, it’s okay, my little darlings, didn’t I come back?" Seeing Li Xuan and Mrs. Wei looking at her blankly, she wiped her tears and explained, "These are my family’s two parrots. The small one is Qi Qi and the big one is Hui Hui."

Mrs. Wang received a letter from Chen Afu a few days ago, stating that Uncle Wang Cheng had been found and would probably return to the village on the 28th. Overwhelmed with emotion, she had cried daily, wishing she could see her brother immediately.

Today, she began waiting for him on the road since morning. She hurriedly went back to Lu Garden for a quick meal, then returned again to wait for her brother into the evening, when a caravan of carriages finally arrived. Dabao, Alu, Miss Chu, and the other children only arrived to wait with Mrs. Wang after they had finished school.

The carriages stopped, and Wang Cheng’s family, along with Chen Afu and the others, alighted.

Wang Cheng knew that the woman running at the front had to be his sister, so he cried and ran to meet her.

Wang Cheng stood still in front of Mrs. Wang, and they both stared at each other for a few moments. Their similar eyebrows and eyes confirmed they were indeed the sister and brother who had been anticipating this reunion.
