Chapter 1767: Chapter 1328: King Fei Lie Black Crystal

Passing through the dimensional portal, Ange and his group arrived in another world, a vast, magnificent, grand, and dazzling underground city.

An irregular lighting window hung in the air of the underground city, with intense light shining in, making the entire underground city as bright as day.

The place they emerged from was an altar. The teleportation gate was open on the altar, and in front of the surrounding buildings, seven or eight goblins were chatting in the shadows. Because the light was so intense, no one was watching the altar, only occasionally turning their heads to glance at it and then quickly looking away, as the sunlight was too dazzling to the eyes.

Ange happened to be in a virtualized state when he came through. Seeing this situation, he didn’t hesitate to immediately soul shift to a hidden corner of a nearby building. With a sweep of his thoughts inside, he soul-shifted into the interior.

Inside was a loft similar to a library, piled with a large number of parchment scrolls, burlap scrolls, and a small number of paper books.

Everyone disembarked from Ange, not daring to solidify their forms because the space here was not large, and the load-bearing capacity was unknown. Just Lightning manifesting its form might collapse the loft.

Anthony’s form floated to the window, watching with shock as he said, "Why is there such a huge goblin city here? They even built a secret teleportation gate leading to the Dragon Clan’s tombstone, just to collect the breath of death across every once in a while?"

Negris also leaned over, gazing and saying, "Yes, it’s so huge, bigger than any city we’ve seen, Friel Kingdom City, the human main city of the Master Plane, the Starburst Array, and so on, all pale in comparison. Look, even the sky... the ceiling? There are buildings on the ceiling."

Anthony looked up through the window, clearly seeing inverted buildings above, as if another piece of land was flipped upside down in the air.

Besides the buildings, faintly visible were mountains, rivers, forests, lakes, crisscrossed farmland, and so on. Just the angle of the lighting window shone in their direction, leaving the ceiling area still in darkness, with only some light reflecting over, indistinctly.

Anthony carefully examined the lighting window in the sky and said, "This lighting window is a space rift, directly using a space rift as a lighting window. The sunlight shines directly in, turning the closed underground space into an open space, really ingeniously designed."

Negris asked puzzledly, "But with a space rift like that, aren’t they afraid the air here will escape?"

Ursman leaned over, saying, "They can add a layer of boundary or shield, so the air won’t escape, or perhaps increase the Power of Devour on the ground to bind the air down. I feel the Power of Devour is strong here, you see, none of the furniture or books are floating, likely due to the Power of Devour."

"Are those airships up there? So many airships, uh, are those traffic signals? A triangular box with one side turning red means stop? Turning another side green means pass? So many airships that it requires traffic signals for regulation?" Negris discovered something new again.

"Traveling between here and the ceiling, airships are the most convenient, so having many is reasonable," Anthony said.

"Over there is a square, with many vendors setting up stalls."

"Over there is a lake, with many goblins sunbathing and others swimming."

"There, is that an opera house? Seems like I hear singing coming from there," Lightning also leaned in, saying enthusiastically.

"What do you want to do?" Negris asked warily.

"I want to go to the opera house stage and curse. Their stage is specially designed to amplify sound, resonate, and echo, cursing would be very satisfying." Lightning said excitedly.

"Go to hell," Negris gave it a kick, really not understanding this horse’s twisted pleasure, knowing it spoke so convincingly, it surely tried it before.

After some observation, everyone discovered that this was a highly civilized goblin society, with a large population, a tightly organized society, and an extremely high level of technology.

"Only the Starburst Array, on a technical level, is a bit more advanced than here; otherwise, none of the many planes we’ve visited can match here," Anthony concluded.

"The question is, why is there such a developed goblin world here? We passed through a hole under a corpse. You know, do you know what I feel like? As if we crawled into an ant hole and found a Starburst Array there," Negris complained.

It’s not that there aren’t such advanced worlds in the void; it’s just that such an advanced world doesn’t seem to connect with goblins collecting the breath of death in the Dragon Clan cemetery.

Ursman suggested, "Just right, there are so many books here, why don’t we start researching from the books, Lord Nage, do you recognize the text in these books? Can you help me translate them?"

"No problem." Without looking at what script was in the books, Negris boldly promised, decoding languages is troublesome, but the text is right there, with plenty of samples, no problem for a God of Knowledge.

Opening the book, there was an unfamiliar script inside, with vertical lines plus some horizontal strokes, looking chaotic, but Negris quickly found patterns among them, classified them into a dozen letters, studied the order of these letters, and quickly formed a series of words, then identified the meaning of these words one by one.

"Great, there’s an illustrated book here. Is this pattern a flower? This word appears four times in the description below, temporarily defining it as ’flower’, good, flower flower flower... I found dozens of flower words, the words before and after it correspond to these words, is the one before a measure word? Hundred flowers bloom? Look for this measure word, see if it’s correct."

Negris said, starting to look for suspected ’hundred’, found dozens more, recorded the words around them, then looked for frequently appearing words in the front and back words, hypothesized, then gathered all these hypothesized words, recorded the surrounding words, repeating this, quickly obtaining a large number of hypothesized words.

"Hundred flowers bloom? No, if this is a hundred, then the back part doesn’t work, if it’s not a measure word, is it a noun? Spring? Spring flowers bloom? If this is spring or summer, the subsequent parts flow smoothly, fine, confirm, it’s a noun, spring? Dark day? Night? Night falls, flowers wither." Negris repeatedly inferred.

It’s like a riddle game, each word is a puzzle, first fill in the answer, then check if the puzzle surface is correct, if not, change the answer until the puzzle surface matches.

The people nearby weren’t able to decipher it, and just watching Negris point here and there, they felt overwhelmed. Even Ursman, who previously thought this Little Fat Dragon’s fame was unwarranted while daring to claim the title of God of Knowledge, now sees it truly lives up to its name.

After spending more than ten minutes, Negris deciphered a portion of the words, which turned out to mean something entirely different from its original hypothesis: "Star? Big explosion... Crystal God arrived, brought death... brought crops, life spread across the land... Great Crystal God..."

Right when cracking this part, chaos erupted on the altar outside, two goblins hastily ran out from the teleportation gate, yelling at the goblins guarding the surroundings about dragon-men, alive, not dead, informing the Crystal God, or something like that.

Anthony frowned and said, "Weren’t they supposed to play dead? How did they get discovered by goblins? Even if discovered, should have caught them directly, how did they let them run back?"

The goblins immediately closed the teleportation gate, then sent someone away swiftly, likely to report to the so-called Crystal God.

Everyone curiously awaited whatever this so-called Crystal God was, and it wasn’t long before a Black Crystal Skeleton flew over and landed steadily on the altar.

The Black Crystal Skeleton shimmered with densely packed starry dots, a powerful intent enveloped the area, it was surprisingly a Chaotic Black Crystal Skull.

Everyone was stunned by this suddenly appearing Chaotic Black Crystal. In his shock, a name flashed in Anthony’s mind: "King Fei Lie!"
