Chapter 1763: Chapter 1324: Alright, no need to search anymore

Compared to Yennefer’s panic, Negris and the others were more shocked: "Why would the regenerated foot still have black scale spots?"

Ursman pondered and said, "It’s very possible that it’s not a contagious disease, but rather a bloodline disease."

"What is a bloodline disease?" Negris asked, puzzled.

Ursman scratched his head and gave an example: "It’s like someone having two dongs, cutting them all off and treating the person, and after they’re healed, they would still grow two dongs, not just one." View the correct content at fr\eewe.bn(o)v\el.c(o)m

All beings with genders couldn’t help but tighten their legs, and Negris painfully said, "Why do you give such an example? I’m the God of Knowledge, your example will become knowledge entering my brain. In the future, thinking of bloodline disease will remind me of cutting dongs; you’ve polluted my knowledge base. Change it, change it."

Ursman had no choice but to change it: "For example, congenital heart disease, congenital polydactyly, albinism, etc., all congenital diseases are bloodline diseases. Well, they can’t be called diseases. Some congenital conditions that don’t affect life aren’t called diseases. For example, Dragon-Men growing scales—is that called a disease? Only those that affect life and are dangerous are called diseases. Otherwise, they’re just called bloodline traits."

"So, these black scale spots are Dragon-Men’s bloodline traits?" Negris summarized.

Yennefer immediately refuted, "Impossible, we never had them before. But after fighting the Deceit Tree, we started growing spots gradually and losing scales. If it’s a disease carried by the bloodline, why didn’t we have it before, only now?"

Yennefer couldn’t help but panic; if Black Scale Disease is contagious, staying away from wife and children could prevent infection. But if it’s carried in the bloodline, doesn’t it mean his wife and children are actually already sick, just not showing symptoms yet?

Ursman said, "If it’s a bloodline disease that you never had before, the greatest possibility is that something suppressed its appearance. What suppressed it? Did any major changes happen to your tribe before Black Scale Disease appeared?"

"We fought with the Deceit Tree," Yennefer said.

"Besides that?" Ursman asked.

Yennefer frowned deeply, her brow scales almost twisted into a knot, unable to figure out the reason. Just then, from afar, Grelli raised her hand weakly and said, "Does leaving a certain place count?"

Ursman said, "Of course it counts. Leaving a familiar place, eating different foods, drinking different water, and getting different sunlight can all potentially cause discomfort leading to sickness."

Grelli said, "Black Scale Disease appeared three years after we left the Ancestor’s Tomb."

Anthony, with a good memory, frowned and said, "No, it was said before that many people got sick, causing you to lose the position of the Ancestor’s Tomb. And three years later? Discomfort doesn’t cause symptoms to appear three years later, right?"

Grelli said, "No, because of the fight, many people didn’t have the chance to return to the Ancestor’s Tomb for rituals. I’ve observed that every sick member of the tribe left the Ancestor’s Tomb for at least three years."

"You’ve observed?" Anthony examined Grelli as if considering the credibility of her words.

Ursman, seeing this, straightforwardly said, "It’s possible for discomfort to appear three years later; this is natural selection of the Void. Three years might be enough for them to go elsewhere. Hello, Ms. Grelli, may I verify your observation skills?"

With Grelli’s permission, Ursman began displaying some graphics—some curved, some straight, some twists and turns, some chaotic. After showing a dozen, Ursman asked, "In the graphics just displayed, what symbol was there?"

Grelli answered, "This symbol." She gestured a double-cross symbol.

Ursman nodded, showed some pictures of lab equipment, then asked, "In the designs just shown, what was the same thing that appeared in all of them?"

Grelli confidently responded, "Table."

Nagri spat a mouthful of old blood: "Table? Ursman, you’re tricking people!"

A whole table of lab equipment—was it actually the table that was common? This was clearly a setup.

Ursman spread his hands and said, "It’s the table. How am I tricking you? Let’s do it again."

Next, another set of images—a series of combat comic strips, a crowd watching two swordsmen in combat. The images swapped at a rate of one per second, the swordsmen’s movements grew more intense, fighting evenly matched.

After a dozen images, Ursman asked, "What color is the dog among the crowd?"

Negris was about to lose his mind—amidst a crowd, he asked about a dog’s color? Was there a dog? Was there a dog inside?

Negris looked everyone over—neither Luther nor Lightning had noticed if there was a dog in the images, all wearing blank expressions. However, Anthony held his chin with a thoughtful expression, seemingly not having noticed if there was a dog, but appeared to have figured out Ursman’s method.

Nonetheless, Grelli accurately answered, "Black and white, ears, eyes, limbs are black, body and face are white."

Ursman couldn’t help but praise, "Your observation skills are really good. Are you interested in becoming my student... uh, I got mixed up; I thought it was a dissertation."

After speaking, Ursman nodded at Anthony, acknowledging Grelli’s observation skills.

Anthony nodded, summarizing, "The key to your Black Scale Disease may very well lie in the Ancestor’s Tomb. Let’s go take a look there first. What do you mean by losing the position of the Ancestor’s Tomb?"

"It means we can’t find it. The Ancestor’s Tomb keeps changing the dimensional rift it connects to—sometimes leading to this rift, sometimes to that rift, sometimes closed. Previously, someone was always inside, resonating with the bloodline; we’d know where it was. But now no one is inside; to find it, we have to search through all the rifts."

"Without the Deceit Tree, we could slowly search separately. But with the Deceit Tree around, any isolated action is extremely dangerous," Yennefer explained.

Anthony asked, "How strong is the Deceit Tree? We’ve been here for a while and haven’t encountered the Deceit Tree yet."

"You’ll see it when we reach the Ancestor’s Tomb or the Time Dragon Stele Forest; they occupy where we used to live. Their strength is about the same as ours, but there’s too many of them, and they seem not to die. Every batch we defeat revives after a while, yet our tribe keeps dwindling," Yennefer said.

Anthony nodded understandingly, pondered for a while, then reported to Ange, "This is the situation, Sir. I want to take a look at the Ancestor’s Tomb and then the Time Dragon Stele Forest. I wish to gather manpower to separately search for the Ancestor’s Tomb entrance."

Ange was fiddling with a newly obtained giant compass. This device controls the manifestation core of the entire space-time domain; though domains originally didn’t have such things, the Dragon God wanted it, so it existed.

Even gods need tangible items to keep track and deepen memory when operating their divine realms. Rather than constantly thinking about how to maneuver things—creating a button to press when needed was simpler.

The compass substantiated Ange’s various god statuses into statues; calling upon any god’s power required just a wave.

Listening to Anthony’s report, Ange scratched his head, still unfamiliar with the compass, looked around, then pointed in a direction. Following Ange’s finger, a teleportation gate cracked open on a platform in that direction.

Anthony clapped his hands—a solution, no need to search anymore.
