Chapter 1588: Chapter 1149: The Key to Advancing into Chaos Black Crystal

"The Great Speaker has truly turned against us now." Watching the slightly desolate silhouette of the Great Speaker, Anthony sighed.

Negris sneered and quipped, "Wasn’t it all because you pushed him?"

"How could it be my fault? I merely gave him a nudge. Otherwise, with his personality, even if others came knocking at his door, he’d still be indecisive," Anthony replied.

Negris couldn’t help but roll his eyes. "A nudge? You exposed him on purpose so that South Coronet would notice, then coaxed Lea and others away from him, and even had the silver coin come to collect debts from him. You did more than nudge him — you practically shoved him multiple times."

"It was necessary for him to make up his mind. At the end of the day, he’s just a Shepherd. Although we’ve bonded over time, sheep are ultimately the property of the farmer," Anthony remarked.

Negris blinked in surprise. "What do you mean? Do you think he’s going to just give up and abandon everything?"

"No, my point is that if he eliminates the farmer, then the sheep will belong to him. What he needs now is a glimmer of hope to defeat the farmer, and now he sees that hope," Anthony explained.

"Then why did you reject him?" Negris asked, puzzled.

Anthony had indeed refused to help the Great Speaker invade the Dimensional World to seize the Chaos Mist, leaving the speaker feeling rather dejected upon leaving.

Anthony rolled his eyes and, in an annoyed tone, asked, "Lord Nage, what is our primary mission here?"

Negris replied, "To stop the Star Progeny Master from upgrading the Light Disaster and destroying the entire world."

"Uh, no, no, no. Our primary mission is to ensure the safety of Ange’s crops and land, making sure he can farm happily and without hindrance," Anthony declared righteously.

Negris’ face twisted into an expression of utter disdain. "Ange isn’t here; you don’t need to brown-nose."

"I’m not brown-nosing," Anthony said earnestly. "Lord Nage, do you know where our roots lie?"

For some reason, Anthony’s sudden mention of the topic left Negris perplexed, blinking in confusion.

"Our roots lie within Ange’s Dimensional World. As long as Ange’s world remains intact, we will never truly disappear. Even if someone blows our heads off right here and now, our projections can simply return," Anthony explained.

"Oh, you meant that kind of root? I was wondering when we started growing literal roots," Negris said with sudden realization.

Indeed, their true forms were primarily located within Ange’s Dimensional World. Apart from the Little Ghost, the others had all arrived here through unconventional means. Thus, even if they exploded on the spot, their true forms would remain unaffected.

"So, our first priority is to protect Ange’s safety, crops, and farmland. Everything else is secondary," Anthony stated.

"But these Celestial Descendant Clan members are triggering the Light Disaster, which would destroy Ange’s crops," Negris pointed out.

Anthony nodded. "Exactly. Which is why our mission is to stop the Light Disaster—not to seize the Chaos Mist. We can’t fall into the Great Speaker’s trap for something irrelevant to us. He’s trying to use this information as collateral for his own debts, but we don’t need it."

"Ah? That’s right, I almost got tricked. Chaos Mist isn’t even his possession; he only told us where it might exist, hoping we’d secure it to offset his debts? His calculations are way too optimistic—I almost fell for it," Negris finally caught on.

"And don’t forget, Ange scattered spores upon the South Coronet members. At the right time, the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms will extend its roots into their world. We don’t need anything from the Great Speaker," Anthony replied.

"Right, Ange did scatter something on those South Coronet individuals back then. I wonder if the spores actually slipped in," Negris mused.

"Even if Little Sapling’s spores didn’t mix in successfully, I’d still reject the Great Speaker’s proposal. That place is an enclosed Dimensional World, and with unclear circumstances, just barging in based on his one-sided description could lead to unpredictable dangers. We might not even be able to escape," Anthony analyzed.

At this point, Negris finally cooled down from the allure of "abundant Chaos Mist" and realized she had been acting too hastily, consumed by the prospect of gaining quantities of Chaos Mist.

But why did Negris act so urgently? It must have stemmed from the fact that the Old Immortal’s scythe was gone, and she hadn’t anticipated achieving so much.

Recognizing the folly of her approach, Negris asked, "Then what should we do now?"

"What should we do? Wait. If they don’t upgrade the Light Disaster, we’ll simply wait for Ange’s true form to descend. I refuse to believe that the so-called Star Progeny Master can prevail against the Great Unified Origin of the Seven Forces," Anthony replied.

Anthony’s tone shifted as he continued, "And besides, Your Majesty isn’t in a hurry—why are you? Ange has already prepared something even better for Your Majesty. Right now, Chaos Mist isn’t even on his radar."

"Something better? What is it?" Negris asked, dumbfounded.

"Wisdom Undead beings. You don’t think those hundreds of thousands of Wisdom Undead are just ordinary Soul Network nodes, do you? If they were truly ordinary, Your Majesty wouldn’t have rushed over to examine them firsthand," Anthony replied irritably.

Negris blinked in confusion. "Aren’t they just that?"

"Of course not. Since when has Your Majesty cared about ordinary Faith Elemental Force nodes? He’s often delegated most of his subjects elsewhere to avoid unnecessary congestion. But this time, he was directly involved; there must be something different. And on top of that, Ange didn’t summon him any earlier—he waited until now. Why do you think that is?" Anthony asked.

Negris pondered out loud, "Why?"

"Go ask him, Lord Nage. Aren’t you curious? If you’re curious, then go and ask; Your Majesty won’t scold you," Anthony coaxed.

Negris suddenly understood. "So all this talk was just to trick me into asking him? Why don’t you just ask yourself? Why bother trying to con me?"

Anthony replied awkwardly, "I’m afraid Ange might not explain it clearly, and asking Your Majesty might result in scolding. You’re in a different position than me—it’s better if you ask."

Negris triumphantly put her hands on her hips and declared, "Now you recognize who has the higher status! Fine, I’ll go ask."

Reaching the Undead City wasn’t as effortless for Negris as it was for the Monarch. The Monarch could simply sense the node’s location and cut through space with his scythe. Negris, on the other hand, had to take a roundabout route via the Teleportation Array, eventually arriving outside the Undead City, where she stood in the Void silently observing the Undead King below.

Seeing the King somewhat entranced, Negris approached and, bewildered, asked, "Old Immortal, what are you staring at? Is there something special about the Soul Network of these Wisdom Undead beings?"

"Special? You don’t know? Weren’t these prepared for me by you all?" The King paused in surprise.

"Ange said he wanted them saved for you, claiming they’d be more useful to you. I assumed it was just the Soul Network that would benefit you, but judging by your expression, something seems off. Is there something exceptional about the Soul Network of the Wisdom Undead beings?" Negris asked.

"Haha, this child... Well, it’s true. Your understanding doesn’t reach the necessary depth, which is why only Ange would deliberately reserve this for me," the King chuckled, extending his hand to grasp at the space in front of him, capturing a faint glimmer of light in his palm.

Opening his palm, the glimmer transformed into sparkling particles, which flowed downward into his hand and merged with his bones in tiny star-like points. "The Soul of Wisdom Undead is the true key to advancing Black Crystal into Chaos Black Crystal."
