Chapter 1560: Chapter 1121: Using the Starburst Array as a Body
Inside the Book of Yellow Stone, Red Star was dragged over, clutching its head.
Negris returned to its Giant Dragon Form, its front claws whacking Red Star’s head with a loud smack: "Flash me, huh? Flash me, huh? You ungrateful little thing! Sheltering you, giving you space to think, and you zap me when you see me? Zap me? Zap me?"
The red beam that shot out from the Spirit Holy Stele did hit Negris, but its strength wasn’t substantial—only leaving a small burn mark. Yet Negris was absolutely infuriated.
This guy even claimed to be its follower, but now had the audacity to pick on it. Back then, Negris’s consciousness had swept across everyone, but only when it reached itself did Red Star make a move. Negris could already guess what Red Star was thinking at the time:
Red Star Flash—Flash this one? Can’t flash... Flash this one? Can’t flash... Flash this one? Can flash! Red Star Flash!
Damn guy.
Once its anger had mostly dissipated, Anthony approached quietly and whispered: "Alright, alright, it’s something Lord Nage created. It zapping you should also count as Lord Nage’s intent, let it go already."
Negris replied in a low grumble, "I’m cursing him! Bringing Red Star here just to zap me?"
Anthony said irritably, "If you’re gonna curse someone, be direct. All this roundabout insulting, Lord Nage won’t even understand."
"If he could understand, I wouldn’t curse him! The point is for him not to understand but still feel cursed, so I can feel good!" Negris declared, full of self-righteousness.
Anthony rolled his eyes and muttered, "Now what? Should we ask Lord Nage to bring the Truth Cannon too?"
"Why don’t you call for it?" Negris retorted.
Anthony pinched his throat and gave a small, shrill ’scream,’ then said: "I’ve called, your turn now."
Negris was dumbfounded—it had never seen anyone as shameless as Anthony.
Not having as thick a skin, Negris could only go to Ange. Ange grumbled about being bothered but still managed to bring out the Cannon of Truth Walker.
Truth Cannon Walker was the builder of the Starburst Array. Although the technology used was Drosa’s, the actual construction was done by Walker. It was also the Sorcerer Alliance’s chief magician—a figure so troublesome that even the recently joined Monarch found headaches dealing with it.
Unfortunately, it later died of old age.
After materializing in the Holy Stele, Walker looked around in confusion, its gaze gradually regaining clarity: "Lord, where is this? Did you remove the prohibition on me?"
"Huh, why can it regain intelligence while Red Star can’t? Could it be Red Star truly has no brains?" Negris wondered aloud.
Anthony speculated: "It’s probably the Spirit Holy Stele granting it the ability to think. Seems like this Holy Stele is no ordinary thing."
Leaning closer to the stele, Anthony asked: "Walker, do you remember us?"
"I remember. Lord Anthony, Lord Nage. But what about Red Star? Has its prohibition been lifted too?" Walker asked.
Anthony replied, "Red Star is here too, but what do you mean by lifting the prohibition?"
"I’ve felt as though there was always some sort of restriction binding me—making me dull, with my mind completely blank every day, like an idiot unable to think straight. I could sense the world around me, but I couldn’t react correctly. It’s as if my soul was trapped within my body."
"But now I can no longer feel that restriction. Did you remove it for me?" Walker asked, puzzled.
Anthony understood now and shook his head: "Not at all. You’re currently in a rather unique state of existence. Are you familiar with Heroic Spirits?"
Stepping aside, Negris explained Heroic Spirits in detail. After listening, Walker nodded in comprehension: "It’s like mechanical constructs with no memory or cognitive ability."
"Uh, that’s one way to interpret it. You’re a chief magician, so I suppose the analogy fits," Negris conceded after a moment’s comparison.
"So I can’t go back into your ragged book. Is there no way for me to stay here? Or is there a mechanical construct that allows memory and thought?" Walker asked.
"Hey! Without my book, you’d have faded into nothingness long ago! How dare you call it ragged—come out and see if I don’t smack you to death!" Negris fumed, practically jumping with anger.
Unfortunately, no white crystal was available; the second one had already been given to Ursman. And Xisluo’s Megalith Array required over a thousand years to produce a white crystal.
After some thought, Ange cut off a large chunk of Silent Magic Vine, handed it to Durken for refining, and stuffed Walker inside.
Regrettably, Walker immediately reverted to its prior clueless state, raising its hands to zap Negris with another "Truth Cannon!"
Intelligence insufficient... So cut more vines?
Ange then went and blew away over a dozen sections of Silent Magic Vine, cutting so much that Ma Wa Ni was on the verge of tears: "Lord, please stop chopping! Anymore and I’ll be bald!"
Sadly, over a dozen vines produced too much volume to be fashioned into a core for memory and thought.
After thinking for a while, Ange spread his legs apart and gave a strong pull—a fist-sized Devouring Abyss appeared before him.
Simultaneously, more than ten Spirit Touch tendrils whipped out, grabbing all the Silent Magic Vines and tossing them into the Devouring Abyss.
Moments later, Ange let go, and the Devouring Abyss vanished, revealing a bead the size of a fingertip.
The bead’s surface was smooth and metallic, lacking any trace of its vine origins.
However, the bead couldn’t maintain stability for long—it cracked quickly, bursting and expanding, endlessly fragmenting until the finger-sized bead grew into a hill of powder as tall as a person.
Scratching his head in confusion, Ange mumbled: "When I compressed metals like this, it never turned out like this."
Durken stepped forward at this point: "Lord, try again, I’ll stabilize it this time."
Ange nodded and pulled once more. The lightweight powder was immediately sucked clean by the reappearing Devouring Abyss, like dust being vacuumed.
Letting go again, the pile of powder was compressed back into a bead.
As soon as the bead emerged, Durken—already prepared—reached out with the Gold-touch Stick in a pointing motion toward the bead: "Permanent Solidification Spell!"
The bead solidified, feeling heavy in hand: "This density is higher than Fine Gold!"
This time, Durken immediately retrieved a mechanical construct, replacing the soul slot with the bead, then inserted Walker inside.
The results were much better. With the bead—a compression of over a dozen Silent Magic Vines—Walker now had sufficient ’intelligence’ to think.
Testing the mechanical body, he moved his limbs, tilted his head, gestured with his arms, and finally performed a Truth Cannon stance. He scoffed, "This body feels so weak."
"You should be grateful to even have a body. Complaining already? Want to go back into my ragged book?" The vengeful Little Fat Dragon sneered gleefully.
Walker ignored it, turning instead to Ange: "Lord, do you still have those vines? I’d like to construct a Starburst Array and use it as my body. Is that possible?"
Durken’s eyes lit up, Anthony’s eyes lit up, Negris’s eyes lit up, and Silent Magic Vine Ma Wa Ni shivered in fear.
