Chapter 1541: Chapter 1102: Someone is Making a Delivery
"Ange?" Negris called out hesitantly.
The Minor Source Body slowly turned its head, its gaze landing on Negris and pausing for a moment before nodding, seemingly far slower than usual.
"What’s going on? Why did you project your will into this body? Are you feeling okay?" Negris asked.
Ange’s reaction was sluggish. It took a full three or four seconds for him to respond. He shook his head as he struggled to stand up from the ground.
Slowly raising his hands to inspect them, lowering his head to look down, lifting his foot—then immediately losing balance and falling.
Anthony tried to help him but was instead forced into an awkward split as he underestimated the overwhelming weight of the Minor Source Body. He nearly got crushed beneath Ange.
The mighty Pope, relying only on his strength, couldn’t hold up this Minor Source Body. And with Ange projecting into the body, he couldn’t borrow Ange’s power, leaving him helpless.
Fortunately, at the very last moment, Ange stretched out his arms to support himself, managing to prop up his body and slowly recline down.
Lying on the ground, Ange raised his arms and legs, gradually adapting to the changes in the body. After some time, he sat upright and extended one of the fingers on his left hand to press on a specific imprint on his right joint — Freckle Removal Technique.
A portion of the imprint was cleared away by the technique. The flexibility in his right hand immediately improved.
Following the same method, Ange continued to tap across his body, removing various imprints. Finally, he even opened his abdominal cavity and eliminated some internal imprints.
When the cavity was opened, everyone saw a dark red energy orb inside—a feature that was originally absent but appeared ever since Ange’s consciousness projected into the body.
Ange avoided the energy orb and scattered away some imprints inside the abdominal cavity. He then began to carve his own imprints, while—as if responding—the energy orb ejected a series of imprints, "ping, ping, ping," embedding them onto the inner wall of the cavity, adapting the body.
The Minor Source Body seemed to suddenly lift a seal, its form growing taller and thinner in an instant. When it moved again, the earlier sluggishness completely disappeared. In stark contrast, its elongated figure exhibited an elegant, nimble grace.
"Hold on." Durken appeared to have noticed something. He removed his cloak and draped it over Ange, wrapping the edges around him tightly. Instantly, a candle-like figure took shape before everyone’s eyes.
"North Corona!? Is this the body of the Celestial Descendant Clan?" everyone exclaimed in astonishment.
"Impossible. North Corona is so weak; he doesn’t seem to possess the strength of a Minor Source Body," Negris remarked.
"Weak?" Anthony couldn’t help rolling his eyes. As the Pope of Light, Dark Knight Emperor, and Great Unified Origin of Seven Forces Spokesperson, Anthony was usually a figure of great solemnity.
Only when Negris annoyed him would he lose composure enough to roll his eyes. "If it weren’t for the Lord, do you think we’d stand a chance against him combined? If it weren’t for Kram sealing off the Array, do you think he couldn’t call for reinforcements? Even the Great Speaker is at his command."
Negris put his hands on his hips and proclaimed confidently, "If Ange can’t beat him, he’s weak."
Well, once the Little Fat Dragon brought Ange into the comparison, Anthony could only concede defeat internally and change the topic. "Silver coin, summon Bapos. Lord, could you summon Kram for us?"
Ange nodded and sat on the ground. He touched the previous planted construct, transferring his consciousness back to the older body. The Minor Source Body then shrank back to its original form.
After summoning Kram, Anthony asked, "When you destroyed North Corona back then, what happened to his body?"
"His body? It exploded. All that was left was a single White Crystal," Kram answered.
The White Crystal was later embedded in the Book of Yellow Stone, manifesting North Corona’s Heroic Spirit. However, it lost all its memories, logic, and even cognitive ability, turning into a dull and foolish existence—functioning even less effectively than Red Star and the Truth Cannon.
A Heroic Spirit’s capacity for thinking is granted by the Book of Yellow Stone, but the extent varies for each spirit. For example, Ursman retained his intellect from life.
The inquiry yielded little from Kram, but before long, Bapos arrived as well.
Bapos bore a striking resemblance to North Corona but wasn’t part of the Celestial Descendant Clan. He was instead a tall, slender humanoid creature. With apparel similar to North Corona’s style, he looked almost identical but confessed he knew nothing of the Celestial Descendant Clan, only vaguely hearing the term mentioned by North Corona.
No meaningful answers were found here either.
While Anthony sought clarification, Ange continued tinkering with the Minor Source Body. Negris, meanwhile, joined in to cause trouble, bombarding him with random questions.
However, if Ange wasn’t interested in Negris’s questions, he would simply ignore them.
Negris didn’t mind; being accustomed to non-responses, he kept murmuring, "North Corona got blasted to the point of leaving only a White Crystal. Could it be that this body doesn’t possess a White Crystal because of that and hence remains complete?"
Suddenly, Ange, while fiddling with the body, replied, "It’s counterfeit."
"Huh? Counterfeit? What do you mean? This body is forged? A forgery of the Celestial Descendant Clan?" Negris asked.
Ange nodded affirmatively.
Durken instantly perked up. Originally observing with utmost concentration, he now dialed his focus even further, his eyes bulging like saucers, fearing he might overlook any crucial details.
The intricate Magic Mark Imprints on this body were nothing short of remarkable. Many even exceeded Durken’s comprehension as the King of Alchemy. But it didn’t matter because Ange was here.
Durken’s approach to alchemy involved first understanding the material properties of Magic Mark Imprints, followed by studying their function and modifying them experimentally. However, Ange skipped all that. He projected his intent onto the body, pinpointed problematic areas, erased them, and instantly understood their designs and purposes.
Thanks to Soul Contact, anything Ange comprehended, Durken could grasp as well.
Now that the Lord deemed the body a forgery, Durken began examining it purely from the perspective of counterfeiting.
Negris was stunned. Anthony abandoned Bapos, crowding close to ask, "Who forged it? Who could forge it? Why was it forged?"
These three questions cut straight to the heart of the matter: there existed a force or team that had fabricated a Minor Source-level body resembling the Celestial Descendant Clan. Who possessed such capabilities? Why forge a body of the Celestial Descendant Clan? What was their relationship to this clan?
Forging another’s body likely indicated hostility, or possibly a minimal chance of friendship, and a remote chance it was the work of merchants fulfilling commissions. But given the level of this Minor Source-body, what merchant could manage such an order?
Unable to draw conclusions, Anthony suggested: "No matter what, this body is indeed connected to those Megalithic Array Merchants. Didn’t they claim it contains a summoning beacon function? We should leave it here and wait—"
Before he could finish his sentence, a faint energy fluctuation emanated from the body. Ange quickly opened the chest cavity, revealing surging energy inside. What initially felt like a weak wave amplified tens of times when the cavity was opened. The body had entirely isolated the energy fluctuations within the chamber.
At the core of the energy orb, a small white crystal core was slowly materializing. Somebody was transmitting something into this body.
