Chapter 1539: Chapter 1100: This Body is... Empty

It’s really asking the right person. Not only does Anthony know, but the guy who was carrying out the creation of Plane Consciousness got killed by them. But this can’t be told to the Great Speaker.

After teleporting away, Negris couldn’t wait to ask, "What cryptic riddles are you all talking about? What did the Great Speaker say?"

Anthony replied, "The Great Speaker said that the Celestial Descendant Clan wants to create Plane Consciousness, or rather, a consciousness of a higher level than Bikram’s Plane Consciousness. So, they’re initiating actions across multiple Planes—they want to end worlds."

"Huh? End worlds again? Isn’t it overkill? Don’t they have anything better to do?" Negris laughed bitterly. This wasn’t a knight novel, so why bring out the apocalyptic plot again? Were the Celestial Descendant Clan really so idle?

"Why don’t you ask the Lord—doesn’t he find planting and harvesting crops every day tedious?" Anthony said.

Ange shook his head.

Anthony continued, "The Divine Light Alliance is probably just the ’crop’ planted by the Celestial Descendant Clan. The Great Speaker is just a farmer watering and fertilizing them. Now it’s harvest time. I have reason to suspect that even the Light Disaster was orchestrated by the Celestial Descendant Clan."

Negris took a deep breath. "Proliferators?"

Anthony nodded. Proliferators was a religious term, referring to humans bred like livestock—stirring up chaos in normal times and slaughtered as needed during emergencies.

If the entire Divine Light Alliance had been bred by some powerful entity, then it would certainly be on an astonishing scale—tens of billions of intelligent beings.

"The Great Speaker had not considered this at first. It wasn’t until Silver Coin reported on the Sea of Omniscience and the Underground city that the Great Speaker suddenly realized this might be a harvesting act, which left him very disheartened," Anthony explained.

"Disheartened? Why would he feel disheartened? Isn’t he in cahoots with the Celestial Descendant Clan? He should be delighted—he can finally reap the crops," Negris asked in confusion.

Anthony shrugged. "Maybe he’s become emotionally attached to the crops after nurturing them for so long. So, I tested him, and he admitted the existence of the Celestial Descendant Clan to me. He didn’t know we were aware of them. Revealing even their name entailed considerable risk."

"This is so annoying! What exactly is this Celestial Descendant Clan up to? Why are they constantly stirring up trouble everywhere? Can’t everyone just tend their crops quietly? Why is that so hard?" Negris complained, scratching his head in frustration.

"It doesn’t work that way. Remember the definition of Ancient Godlight? A closed system inevitably slides from order to chaos. To reverse it, external power needs to be injected to reestablish new order. If the Celestial Descendant Clan wants to avoid sliding into chaos and collapsing, they’ll have to stir up trouble," Anthony explained.

Negris rolled his eyes. "Here we go again—the Ancient Godlight theory. They’ve conned you. Look at Ange—the Dimensional World is closed enough, yet it doesn’t need external forces injected. The Dimensional World can operate stably on its own, so Ancient Godlight is wrong."

Anthony looked at Ange and nodded. "True enough. The Chaos Plane is closed enough, and the Dimensional World even more so. The Lord can still maintain the Dimensional World’s stability through added increments. Ancient Godlight must be too incompetent to find a way to reverse the process, so it relies on external force injections."

"Makes sense, right? Ange’s the real deal. Oh, by the way, when we visited earlier, why didn’t we just teleport but instead relied on the Great Speaker dragging us along?" Negris suddenly realized and asked. Why did they travel from the Sea of Omniscience without teleporting and instead had the Great Speaker take them?

Anthony explained, "How could he have transported all his coffins via teleportation? Plus, given the uncertain situation, he didn’t dare teleport directly. What if they got infested by bugs the moment they emerged from the Teleportation Array? Flying was the safest option."

...

The situation in the Sea of Omniscience wasn’t too severe because the cities here were enclosed within separate bubbles. Only one city among them discovered bugs. Once the situation was detected, Coasney immediately sealed off that bubble.

Moreover, the bugs didn’t seem to have evolved to move underwater, so they didn’t spread further—for now. After consuming all the organic material within the bubble and starting to devour each other, they would inevitably find the evolutionary path.

After tidying up the Sea of Omniscience, Ange’s group teleported to the Violet Underground City. The circumstances here were far more dire than in the Sea of Omniscience or Table Mountain.

"Being this close, is it really fine? The Underground City is full of all kinds of people—murderers, arsonists, thieves, and even rapists. We’ve screened most of them and castrated the criminals, but many are still weighed down by sins. Such people usually hide from others, and when they’re sick, they’re even less likely to report it—they just hide as best they can,"

Roland shrank back as much as possible, trying to distance himself from the others for fear of spreading the ’plague’ to them. Even at this point, he still believed this was an extremely contagious plague, completely unaware that the insect on Ange’s shoulder was inhaling deeply towards him with its Big Mouth wide open.

"By the time we discovered it, White Death disease had already spread; several people had died, and the pace of infection was accelerating. Even I don’t know when I might have gotten infected. Are you sure being this close won’t infect you?" Roland asked again.

Anthony reassured him, "Don’t worry; this isn’t a plague. It’s far more transmissible than a plague. Let me take a look at your wound."

Roland staggered slightly, almost falling. Initially, he had sighed with relief upon hearing ’not a plague,’ only to be hit with ’far more transmissible’—talk about leading him on!

Still, he didn’t dare complain and obediently took off his shirt, revealing the white spots on his skin.

On his otherwise normal skin, white spots scattered across. Upon closer inspection, they appeared silver. However, by the time you could discern their silver sheen, the spots had already fragmented.

The white spots expanded outward, rendering the skin and flesh incredibly rigid and brittle. When their silver sheen fully appeared, they would fracture into powder, leaving behind pits and holes.

No blood, no bodily fluids, just silver fragments.

"What a bizarre mechanism—it’s like it’s turning people into metal," Negris remarked.

"It’s likely contamination from the Source of Water, but much slower in effect compared to the Source of Water," Durken explained.

Upon hearing Durken’s words, Ange suddenly tilted his head, grabbed Hemel, and threw him out, pointing towards the Underground City with a howl.

Without the Insect God to suck out the bugs, the white spots on Roland’s body wouldn’t halt their spread. However, under a sacred beam of Holy Light, enveloping Roland, the white spots continued to expand but didn’t fracture.

In that instant, Durken understood what Ange was doing and exclaimed, "Such a gentle transformation! Treatment becomes much easier this way. Doesn’t this mean Roland can be converted to a water-source entity like Lord Nage?"

See? Even bugs can be useful. With some change in thinking, they can serve as tools for enhancing the body.

While Ange was reinforcing Roland, the Insect God was clearing bugs around the Underground City. Several hours passed before a humanoid figure suddenly flew horizontally towards Ange’s location.

Upon closer inspection, it turned out Hemel was carrying the figure in his mouth. Hemel’s small size made it look as though the humanoid figure was flying horizontally on its own.

Why was Hemel bringing a humanoid figure here out of nowhere? Everyone knew something was amiss and rushed over to investigate. After examining for a while, Negris declared, "This body... is empty?"
