Foreign Land Reclamation By a Vegetable-growing Skeleton
Chapter 1520 - 1081: Do You Believe in the Lord of Omniscience?

Chapter 1520: Chapter 1081: Do You Believe in the Lord of Omniscience?

Sea of Omniscience, where gigantic ropes floated in the sea, resembling writhing tentacles, eerily so.

Coasney organized a large number of people to harvest the seaweed growing on the first rope, cut them into leaves, and attach them to new ropes which were then thrown into the sea.

Coasney himself was also busy pinning seaweed. This brand-new crop was unfamiliar to him, and its cultivation method unheard of, leaving him uncertain whether the effort was worthwhile.

Nevertheless, under the command of the Lord of Omniscience, whether it was worth it or not, Coasney had to plant it first. Although skeptical, he wanted to handle things personally to see for himself.

He picked a small tender leaf and put it in his mouth to chew, finding it bland and tasteless.

"Can this thing really be eaten?" Coasney muttered in doubt.

Anthony’s voice sounded: "It can be eaten; wash it clean, cut it into shreds, mix with onions, garlic, and peppers, and it tastes excellent."

Coasney jumped up, exclaiming, "Pay respect to His Holiness."

After bowing, Coasney raised his head to look in the direction of the voice. He saw the holy light-emitting silhouette of Anthony standing there. Was this a Divine Soul Descent?

Anthony continued, "The algae leaves are rich in protein. Picked, dried, and ground into powder, they can be mixed into feed, which is excellent for fattening cattle and sheep. Additionally, when the seaweed matures under sunlight, it will yield a kind of algae rice, a nutritionally rich staple. The only downside is that it’s not very palatable, but it’s enough to fill the stomach."

"Oh heavens, is this the Divine Algae?" Coasney listened, thrilled, feeling this crop was practically tailored for the Sea of Omniscience.

The surface of the Sea of Omniscience was covered by the ocean, almost devoid of arable land. With this seaweed, both planting and breeding were possible, meaning the Sea of Omniscience’s self-sufficiency in food was resolved.

"Sort of, as it was cultivated by my Lord. But it is not a big deal; if not for the Light Disaster, you would have witnessed soil-less crops that don’t need soil to grow." Anthony said indifferently.

"Can they grow without soil?" Coasney appeared bewildered, as if hearing the Holy Code.

Anthony smiled faintly: "I’m telling you this so that you won’t doubt the Almighty. That would be blasphemy."

Coasney shivered all over. Yes, his muttering just now was indeed a grave sin, for he had questioned the seaweed personally planted by Ange, which in many religions would directly be a mortal sin—blasphemy.

The consequences were not being put on a Fire Execution Frame or entering the Abyss of Thousand Worms, both the most brutal deaths.

"Okay, you’ll understand once you’re familiar. Serve well, and the Master God will protect you." Anthony finished, then switched the topic:

"Gather people. The lord intends to conduct food trade here. Under the name of the Lord of Omniscience, offer relief food to planes suffering from famine at low prices. How’s the Defensive Array, usable?"

Coasney nodded, "The Defensive Array is usable. But, sir, why sell food? What about us if the food is sold?"

Anthony glanced at him, then at the seaweed in his hand. Did he not listen to anything he just said?

"No, the seaweed hasn’t been harvested yet, and we don’t know the yield. If we sell the food now, what if the seaweed doesn’t grow, then what do we do?" Coasney hurriedly explained.

"Over eight million tons of food and you can’t finish it. Keep six months’ worth of rations, sell the rest." Anthony said.

"Ah? Six months? This... this... isn’t good." Coasney hesitated.

No one ever thinks there’s too much food at home. In the current situation, having only six months of food stored at home is unsettling. What if there’s no food harvest within six months? Would everyone starve to death?

He had just experienced a food crisis once and didn’t want to go through it a second time. He had no idea if the seaweed could be eaten, if it tasted good, or if it had a high yield. Even if Anthony spoke eloquently, he would remain skeptical.

Anthony pressed his hand lightly on him, and Coasney immediately felt the power in him disappear. The Divine Power that previously filled him vanished without a trace under that light pressure?

"Whether it’s good or not is not up to you. Are you willing to obey the Divine Oracle?" Anthony asked.

"I... I... I am willing." Coasney had to compromise.

Only then did Anthony lift his hand, and Coasney immediately felt the Divine Power return to his body.

Having been a priest for so many years, this was the first time Coasney felt the superior’s power over life and death toward him, without the ability to resist.

Realizing this, Coasney scrambled to gather people, maintain the array, and allocate transport. Everything was ready-made, and after preparations, Violet, through its channels, announced to all planes suffering from food shortages that the Lord of Omniscience was willing to sell food.

...

On a tattered airship, dozens of ragged humans huddled together, most of them women and children. In the overloaded, suffocating cabin, some children couldn’t take it anymore and wept softly.

Why weep softly? Because they were too hungry to cry loudly.

The adults, too, were equally feeble, ravaged by hunger and thirst. A young man couldn’t help but ask the leading middle-aged man: "Village Chief Popo, is the Sea of Omniscience really willing to sell food? What if it’s fake? Or what if they sell at a high price and we can’t afford it?"

Village Chief Popo’s skin was somewhat loose, suggesting he used to be overweight but was now starved thin. He replied weakly, "If it’s fake, then let me die there. Those of you with strength, continue on the airship to seek food elsewhere."

The youth couldn’t help but be tearful hearing such disheartening words: "Where else to go? Many Master Planes have closed the Teleportation Arrays, preventing entry. Other Abysses are in a similar predicament. Don’t mention finding food, let’s hope we don’t become food."

Village Chief Popo suddenly found some strength: "Right, what if they’re luring us to eat us? Lord of Omniscience, has anyone heard of this name?"

Everyone in the cabin, men and women, young and old, shook their heads, except the young man who said, "The message about the food was sent by the Violet Mercenary Group. I know this mercenary group; they have quite a good reputation."

"That’s good." Village Chief Popo breathed a sigh of relief, and no one had the energy to speak any longer. The cabin fell silent. After another half day, they finally saw through the window a plane full of ocean.

Confirming it was the Sea of Omniscience, everyone showed signs of disappointment. A plane full of water, how could there be food for sale here?

"Could it really be cheating us to eat us?" The young man said in horror.

At this point, Village Chief Popo became calm and replied, "Do we have any other options? Do we still have enough food to reach the next plane? No, now all we can do is take up a blade. If they are really tricking us to eat us, then end oneself with a slice, and the pain of being eaten alive will be over."

The airship found an inhabited island and landed. Trembling, they disembarked, only to be greeted by a goblin who stuffed a vegetable bun into his hand and kindly asked, "Do you believe in the Lord of Omniscience?"
